Made the house feel much more cheery with warm radiators! Unfortunately, this evening was just a test run to see that everything works okay. The plumber will come back tomorrow evening and set everything in place properly, and then run some tests (most importantly a carbon monoxide reading) and fit the timer. Hopefully that will be the end of this saga, and I'll be able to heat the house for a couple or three hours each day. Whilst the plumber was busy inside, I was outside used the stiff one I bought yesterday to sweep the rear concrete and paved area that I'd tidied up yesterday, And then started pruning back the overgrowth around and over the old stone sheds that were in the photograph I posted a few week ago (here). There are an awful lot of briars and brambles to clear, as well as ivy, so it's going to be a slow tedious job as (a) I don't want to be scratched too badly, and (b) there's a subsided slated roof on the sheds and I would hope to save the slates rather than damage them. And I really need to get some gardening gloves, as I got a number of scratches today. I'm just hoping the weather stay reasonably dry, so I can get on with this outside work for a few more days. Albert is welcome to the rainy weather we usually get over here in Ireland. Congrats on the heat... and getting use out of the stiff one. 8

It was my first one with this cardiologist... he's a really nice guy. Lots of tests being scheduled. An echocardiogram (my second one since being in the hospital), a stress test, a Holter monitor for 72 hours, and a BP monitor for 24 hours. Then another appointment to discuss. 5 1 2

It might sound a little strange, but it was delicious. I browned ground beef, added some beef stock, better than bouillon, seasoned everything heavily with black pepper, garlic powder, and chili powder, worchestershire, and horseradish mustard. I used some almond flour as a thickener and added some cream cheese (I didn't have cream or sour cream). It was tangy and a bit spicy, but I"ll definitely make it again. I had leftover riced cheesy broccoli as a side. Today we had kielbasa mixed with tomatoes, onions and peppers with yams and corn, salad and a pumpkin pie. 4 1

I tend to use them as guidelines and tweak them to fit my tastes and what's in the fridge and cupboards. The fun part of cooking is discovering a new 'go-to' dish Neither do I since I love to experiment when I cook! The kielbasa I made was cooked in 4 bottles of Coors before I added the tomatoes, onions and peppers. 2 1

The rest of the day was spent bingeing NCIS on Netflix. Shopping, writing (thou I found out doing 5 stories at once is not the best way of writing), tidying up and read a few Nifty and big closet stories. 2 1
