We are going to a c/o beach Playalinda just south of Daytona. We are going to Daytona Beach, too, but mostly we are watching the races.

The Florida State Fair opened today, but at 5 pm they had to close it because of severe weather. A strong cold front is coming in...lots of winds.

We had those storms here too. The local high schools cancelled all after school activities. We had rain that caused the usual river flooding and strong winds of 60mph. The winds have eased some but steady winds of about 25mph with gusts to 40+ are expected until late evening.

We're expecting a storm for Sunday afternoon with strong winds too. 100 to 120 km/h in the city I live in and up to 130km/h on the coast! I think I'll pass driving in that

My mare is just about the same age her mom was when she passed away. As much as I hate to think about it, it's going to happen. I've been thinking about what to do with all the land in the paddock, and I think I might do a big garden. Maybe buy a rototiller and plant all kinds of stuff and give it to my kids. When I bought the place, there was a huge garden here, and it produced a ton of stuff... would give me something to do... or I could just mow.... morning, bro and Mum.

Mornin'. The garden sounds a lovely idea. However, start small and expand if warranted is my advice. I actually shrank mine because I wasn't getting enough use from it.

Good advice... I think I want variety more than volume, and I hate weeding, so...

I also want to plant a few trees along the inside of the fence at the front, and maybe a maple or two in the middle.

My mom's parents did that. They had a very big garden and they had vegetables all year round and feed us all. We never bought veggies. Now we put potatoes and zucchinis at my dad's parents' for the whole family. Dad take care of it when he goes there on Sundays.

Might be a nice time to share with the grandkids too. How are they BTW?
