Although there was a car rally that saw 50 people get fined its only 9:30 so the temp isn’t too bad. The shops are open so folks might go there instead 3 2

Popular Post Bucket1 Posted April 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2020 We have had total isolation of our aged care facilities but some have had tragic incidents. This virus will not kill off humanity, we will survive... but it is killing off human beings who are isolated and alone, no hugs, no holding hands, no kiss on the cheek. And then the families and friends can’t say goodbye when they are gone. And that’s downright sad and a tragedy 6

There will probably be more deaths than otherwise because of a few people acting stupidly. And the restrictions may also stay in place a bit longer for the same reason. But a vaccine or a drug to treat the symptoms (or both) will eventually be found. It may take six months, or a year, or possibly 18 months, but the "plague" will eventually come to an end. Nil desperandum, my friend. Do not despair. Never despair. This too shall pass. Edited April 11, 2020 by Marty 7

I know exactly what you mean, Albert. Every death is totally sad. And it is sad that anyone's death should just be classed a merely part of some statistic. I'm reminded of John Donne's "No Man Is An Island": Spoiler No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thine own Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee. John Donne, 1624 Edited April 11, 2020 by Marty 7

Popular Post Headstall Posted April 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2020 Good morning/evening, all! Shop About Let’s keep those masks and gloves out of the ocean! The global outbreak of the novel coronavirus has required people from all walks of life to begin using personal protective equipment or PPE in their everyday lives. Unfortunately, as we’re sure you’ve seen across your social media platforms and in your own commute to the grocery store, people are abandoning their used gloves and masks by disposing of them on the ground right outside of their cars or destinations. This is problematic for a couple reasons. One, PPE is most effective if worn at all times, right to your door. Two, this litter is lightweight and could easily be blown by the wind into nearby waterways or picked up by animals and marine life, harming the environment. Some responsible ways to dispose of these products Donate them — If you have an abundance of unused gloves or masks, consider donating your extras to medical professionals so they are properly protected on the front lines. Recycle them — Certain markets will accept latex gloves in their recycling as long as they are disinfected and sanitized. Check with your local WMS. Collection Bins — There are some companies out there (i.e. TerraCycle) who offer collection bins online. Order a bin, fill it, and ship it back to them for proper recycling. Waste Receptacle — There is almost always a proper waste receptacle within walking distance. Place those gloves and masks directly into these for transport to landfill. 5 1
