Popular Post Marty Posted March 18, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 18, 2021 I don't know how many times I have nearly left my reading glasses behind after attending a doctor or hospital appointment. The most recent was when I had to remove them for an eye test needed for the renewal of my driving licence... 7
Marty Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 (edited) I took a walk around my immediate surroundings earlier, as it's a nice spring day. Seeing some of the wild flowers in the hedgerows made me realise that winter is finally over, and inspired me to publish a new haiku with the somewhat unoriginal title of "Spring Haiku" https://gayauthors.org/story/marty/martys-haiku/13 Two of my photographs from the walk: Spoiler Wild Primrose (Primula vulgaris) Lesser Celandine (Ficaria verna) Edited March 18, 2021 by Marty Adding images 5

I don't think I've ever seen it growing wild, just the potted variety in the garden center. 1 4

Some of the older folk in my locality refer to it as the mayflower and, apparently, there used to be a tradition of sprinkling a semicircle of primrose petals around the outside of the front door on the 1st of May to bring good luck to the household for the summer. 3 3

Site Administrator Popular Post Valkyrie Posted March 18, 2021 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted March 18, 2021 I had a busy morning. I went to my follow up appointment with the sleep doctor and they said my rate of abnormal breaths is down to 4.7. It's supposed to be below 5. So the CPAP is doing its job. I'm getting more used to it and am able to tolerate 5-6 hours of it now. After my appointment, I headed to a local mall to check out a shop that carries the horses I collect. Well, I ended up finding an antique emporium so spent about an hour and 15 mins walking around the stores and the mall. I found some cool things too 6

Preschools, primary school and middle schools stay open. High schools will do part time (half the students present and the rest online from home, changing every weeks) College stay open with hybrid classes. Meaning the teacher can choose do present or online class and students can choose whether to come in class or stay online. Deplacements allow 10km radius, no time limit but certificate needed In French college means middle school in English and faculté/université in French means college in English 6
