The day started off well here. I spent some time in the garden. I've started preparing the ground where this year's potatoes will be grown. But it's raining quite heavily now (4:00pm), and looks as though it may be set in for the evening. Fingers crossed tomorrow isn't too wet. 5

And what a beautiful day it is It was a beautiful day here too. 16°C and bright sunny, the sun making it even warmer this afternoon. I took my great aunt to her pt appointment and spent some time with her until curfew time. She dug out some old pictures we went through while eating chocolates 1 5

The rain stopped and I was able to continue preparing the ground for the potatoes. Maybe the weather forgot that it's still only March and decided to treat me to an April shower. Just coming on dark here, so I'm back in the house. I've about two thirds of the potato patch prepared and will hopefully finish the remainder tomorrow. There's no rush on this job, as I won't be planting the actual potatoes until towards the end of April. But I want to turn the soil, bury the weeds, and give them time to die, before making the furrows the seed potatoes will be planted in. 6

Marty Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Six years ago yesterday the local secondary school had a 10km fund-raising fun run. I took several hundred photographs of the runners, some in groups and some single. I think this one is my favourite from the whole lot... Maybe it's all those male legs that makes it my favourite, but what strikes me about it right now is the fact that so many people were in such close physical proximity... I can't wait until such things are allowed to happen again. 3 2
Popular Post Headstall Posted March 23, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 23, 2021 It was actually a hot day here. I sweated up on our walk in the woods. Cookie had a blast. My big accomplishment after that was getting the hose back out and scrubbing the water trough for the horse. 1 1 4

This photo reminds me of when Val used to take her herd out for a jog ... lots of lovely males legs followed closely by Val and her whip. 6 1

Yesterday, Tuesday, after brekkie mum, the pup and I went to a local greenhouse and bought a bunch of plants for the flowerbeds. It was lovely. Now though I've a bit of planting to do plus I realized I need more plants. 2 4

Marty Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Happy Wednesday, everyone! Rainy day here and, as the local saying goes, there's not a lot of heat going to waste outside today. Currently 7°C/45°F, but feeling more like 3/37 with the lack of sunshine. The forecast suggests the rain may stop in about an hour's time (around 3pm), and the rest of the afternoon/evening should be fairly dry, with even the possibility of a little sunshine. 3 1

Popular Post clochette Posted March 24, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 24, 2021 It's a lovely day here with bright blue sky and 17°C. The cats are sunbathing on the garden table and the tulips and red currant flowers are opening up. I said goodbye to my great aunt and am nlw back at dad's. I had a late lunch and now I'm ready to garden 2 4
