My grandfather, actually used that type of razor. As a child I saw him shave a few times, and he would terrify me by jokingly make his hand tremble quite severely as he was bringing the razor up to his his throat. At the last moment the shaking would completely disappear, and he would stroke down leaving his skin as smooth as a baby's bottom. When he was having a shave he would tell me he was going to have a dig in the grave (an example of Cockney rhyming slang). I suspect that the weird sense of humour I can sometimes exhibit comes at least partly from my interactions with granddad when I was a child. 3 3
