Headstall Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 The only thing so far is she barks in her crate. It's to be expected... we'll work on it, but she's fitting in well. She is learning to read us, and she's quite comfortable here. 4 1
Popular Post bignick Posted January 19, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 19, 2019 Unfortunately, my building does not allow pets. Ever since I started to use my memory, I've been surrounded by cats and dogs. I'm sure you won't believe this, but my family has 21 dogs (12 adults and 9 puppies) and 3 cats. Back at my parents' there's only one dog and one cat. The rest lives at work. Personally, my favorite two breeds are Basset Hound and Golden Retriever. Can't decide which one is cuter. 4 1 1

Personal opinion - Goldens. I've had two and they were the best! Although my daughters new black lab pup promises to be just as good. Every time I think of a basset hound, I can't help but think of a line from Smoky and the Bandit, and now it will be indelibly welded together. "Frog, feed Fred" 1 5

So... you all know I've had a hard time with saying goodbye to my American Bulldog... finally, I reached a point I was ready for a dog. Unfortunately, I ended up in disappointment when I decided to rescue a Greyhound from the track. So many are euthanized when their career is over. Two different dogs fell through, and I lost heart. Crap happens... but today I found a dog online whose photo reached in and grabbed my heart. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. I showed it to my son, who badly wants a dog, and he felt the same way... of course. We took a trip, and are now the proud owners of an eighth month old Border Collie named Cookie. She lived with a family of four kids, but one child developed an allergy... and medication made her drowsy, and she is in Grade one, and wasn't doing well. They needed a new home for their energetic young dog, so we bought her for what they paid for her, and got her a crate, and now she's home. She's American bred, by an Amish farmer, and she's gorgeous! She's smart, and well on her way in her training, and she's already settled in. We will be spaying here as soon as our vet recommends. She's in my son's room... and he is in his glory. Finally, we are dog people again. Mallory could never be replaced, but it was time, and I feel good. Congrats! Border collies are awesome What do Falkor and the kitty herd think? 6 1

Popular Post clochette Posted January 19, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 19, 2019 My brother... I asked him to stop by the apartment as he went into town and bring me a couple of things, easily found with the following instructions: "Bring the dress and cardigan that are on 2 hangers right in front of you when you open the door. They're hanging on the side of the rise bed. You can't miss them, they'll basically be in your face. Plus the boots that are on the floor under where the clothes are" What I got: The boots - yeah! And the hanger that was behind the door, on which my light scarfs are attached and a pink Cardi is hanging. 7 1

A few of my relatives have kept them over the years, and I find golden retrievers annoying as f***. Besides which, I hear they have one of the worst gene pools, thanks to inbreeding. Causes a lot of health problems when they get older. Of course, I could be biased because I own a skunk. Whatever you're happy with, that's fine by me! They literally cannot find their hand in front of their faces. But, to be fair... neither can I. 4 1 1 1
