Hey Page! I tried vegan in the US and also did not like it.  However, once a year in Thailand is a Buddhist week of eating vegan food.  A lot of restaurants switch to a vegan menu inspired by a millennia of Chinese vegans.  The foods are excellent and use a variety of ingredients that actually have the tastes and textures of meats and seafoods.  I go out at least 2 or 3 times with my Thai friends to eat during that week.  At least once a year I don't feel guilty about what i eat. 😊

What a dilemma! Your idea of the surprise birthday party is so sweet and a great idea.  I can also understand your brother's desire to take a short vacation.  I hope it works out for both of you.

Hi Cassie!  You're a better man than I if you can eliminate red meat and pork. My dad was a grocer and professional meat cutter. I still eat more meat than veggies.

Watched a new movie on Netflix tonight, called The Sea Beast. Everyone lives in fear of the horrible monsters that prowl the Dregmoor Sea, especially the notorious Red Bluster. Until a little girl named Maisie proves them all wrong. 

Max was especially excited to see a young ProtOC (Protagonist of Color) that didn't involve Spider-Man or undead skeletons. Honestly, I found Maisie adorably funny and honest. And brave, of course.

Ugh I couldn't either. I'm very very picky  I dont like veggie except soup and mashed carrots, anything coming from the sea or a river and legumins like lentils. I think I eat meat everyday. I try not to at dinner but right now are it's BBQ season...

I'll also make salted cakes (thuna, ham, chorizo, sun dry tomatoes and olive), little sausage rolls, Provencal pies and the vegan dips (peas and avocado, carrots and beetroots) with breadsticks and carrots and cucumbers sticks. There will also be cherry tomatoes, melon and watermelon.

I actually would try the vegan dips.  If they're anything like hummus I'm there.

Sounds like a great idea!   I'm well, thanks. There are some tall, thick, stubborn weeds along the paddock fence with my name on them. I'm getting ready to go to war.
