In Manchester, we have a lot of restaurants from different cultures. As a general rule of thumb, I only go to those that are frequented by people of that culture, i.e. if the Chinese eat in a Chinese restaurant or Indians eat in an Indian restaurant. That usually guarantees some fantastic cuisine.

But just like everything there are good restaurants and bad ones, and you never know when a chef is having an off day!

Someone on Reddit said that he met an English guy who seriously thought English people had not only set the global standard for spicy food, but they also invented spicy cuisine.
