We left the house at 5:30 headed to the park for our morning walk. An hour and 2.5mi later we headed downtown to Central Market. Stopped at Home Depot on the way and picked up edging material and landscape cloth/weed barrier. Spent about 30 minutes shopping at market but needed to waste another 30 minutes until the County Treasurer's office opened so I could pay my real estate taxes. From there we went grocery shopping and visited the attached garden center and bought 3 bags of potting soil and 10 paving stones. We've been home about an hour relaxing but I need to unload the landscaping materials from the car. Maybe I'll even do a bit of work outside. Though I've got a bit of a headache so maybe not. Take it easy, bro. You've done enough in this heat. 5 1

The pup and I relaxed inside for a couple hours before I unloaded the pavers and potting soil. Used one of the bags to fill an old galvanized wash tub and planted a hosta in it. It's a large variety called "Honeybell". It's a pale mintish green, if it grows to full potential it will reach 2 foot in height and 4 in width. I pulled out some old peonies and planted another hosta in their place. This one is "Atlantis" and has dark green spear shaped leaves edged in yellow. It should reach 2+ foot in height and 5 in width. It will me my largest. I have over a dozen varieties ranging in size from the 5 footer down to several miniatures that are only 2-4 inches high by 4-8 inches across. Most of the smallest are in pots but a couple are tucked into small nooks along the edges of the garden. 6

Maybe next year. 6
