Here's the list of "Words to Use" I keep

Well that helps to explain why you use so many unusual words in your stories!  ;–)

The word is somnolent.

som·no·lent | \ ˈsäm-nə-lənt  \

Definition of somnolent

1of a kind likely to induce sleep
             Eg. somnolent sermon

2ainclined to or heavy with sleep DROWSY
      Eg. somnolent rivers

From Walls Chapter 20, which is in Book 6 of @Carlos Hazday's CJ series.

Quote

For being the city that never sleeps, New York was a somnolent town when the guys walked outside after breakfast.

I think those two words should be permanently conjoined. Better somnolent than fury-inducing fire-and-brimstone old testament angry, vengeful god bigotry that contradicts their new testament god of love.
