Imagine Question For 9/23

If...and I'm just saying 'IF'...a sudden zombie apocalypse were to break out all over the globe...spreading like wildfire...what would you do?

I'm talking about right NOW, as you're reading this...the windows of your house or your job get shattered, the sound of armed military planes flew over your house, and you look out of your front door to hear the screams of people running for their lives. Right now! Do you think you could survive it?

What would you do? Would you try to run? Would you gather up weapons to stand and fight? Would you find a place to barricade yourself in and wait for the madness to pass you by? WILL it pass you by?

What would you do for your friends? Your family? If neighbors or survivors begged you to let them in...would you take the risk? How long until you run out of food? So much to think about, and almost zero time to plan! But...it's fight or die! So what do you do?

Honestly, I’ve got a spot well away from the city. My ppl wouldn’t be alone, but we’d have to start fresh and live off the land. No electricity. That wouldn’t be a problem. The problem would be keeping the outsiders out.

I sometimes wonder what I would do in this situation, or if I had what it took to survive a zombie apocalypse after seeing so many shows and movies and seeing what people had to go through in order to make it through the worst of times. But honestly, after Covid...I don't think it would be all that difficult. At least for about six months to a year.

I wouldn't run or try to leave town, first of all. The roads would be packed, and chances are I'd end up running out of gas and supplies in the middle of nowhere, or some place that I didn't know, around PEOPLE I don't know. So that's not the best of plans.

Also, I wouldn't fight or go to war with a giant horde of zombies, because...why? I'm severely outnumbered and overmatched. So I'm either going to end up murdered or bitten and infected. Not a good plan either.

I'd probably just fortify my house and see if I could have my family get to me somehow. Strength in numbers. And I would just stay isolated and look for any news reports or signs that things were getting better on the outside. I mean, I've got books, I've got music, I've got pens and paper...I do a lot of living inside my own head anyway. The only need for me to leave would be to go out on a supply run or to stock up on food. But if I made it quick and took maybe two people with me to watch my back...I think we could make it there and back without much trouble.

I'm not like a big weapons expert or anything, but we've got big knives and meat cleavers in the kitchen. Hammers, nails and screwdrivers in the pantry. I'm sure that defending myself long enough to get away without a bit would be pretty simple if it was a life or death situation. Which, I'm assuming it would be.

So, with all that being said, I think I could survive a zombie outbreak! I'd worry more about other people trying to survive as well. They're the murderous bastards that I'd have to keep an eye on!

By the way...if anybody is looking to get into my house and stay with me? You're fucked! Hehehe, find somewhere else. Cute puppy...newborn baby...buckets of cash...I don't care. Kick rocks and keep it moving, buddy!

Frankly it depends on what happens. That said, generally speaking, I try to live by the mentality of “Failure to plan is a plan to fail”. Now, obviously you cannot plan for every possible scenario, but do consider myself well rounded. Always have a backup for your backup plan and be flexible. I think one must be able to adapt on the fly…within reason. I’m not a HUGE prepper or anything but I do like to be somewhat prepared 😉
