Site Administrator Popular Post Myr Posted June 29 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted June 29 Hey everyone. As a site that has been around for over 20 years, we have had some wins and losses with different folks. Some things have not gone as well as we would have liked and there is a site out there that likes to rate sites. I'm not a fan of the business model of giving people a place to libel a website and offering the site owners a way to pay to have said libel removed or less emphasized. However, such rankings can have effects on some people. I would appreciate honest reviews here to help offset the unhappy former members that have done there to misrepresent what occurred. We know we aren't perfect, but we aren't a 2 star out of 5 star site either. https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/gayauthors.org Thanks! Myr 5 3
Popular Post Krista Posted June 29 Popular Post Posted June 29 It seems that it typically takes Reviews 48 hours before they are made public based on the algorithm, so if you're currently not seeing it, that could be the reason. So, don't think it isn't visible based on something untoward if it is still within the 48 hour window and flood the site with similar reviews. That could lead the algorithm to 'flag' all reviews coming in for GA in general. (Just an FYI as I'm nosy and wanted to read the new reviews and wasn't seeing them) 6
Popular Post BrokenBoundariesGayErotica Posted July 1 Popular Post Posted July 1 As someone who has had some nasty individual stalk me across the internet and try to essentially do the same with my stories (downvoting etc. on sites where that's permitted) I can sympathize with how shitty that is and I'll go and add my positive review to the pile. People seem to be more motivated to do things out of hate than love these days and it's even more prevalent on the internet where they can do it anonymously. In case my stalker is on this site too, as I suspect is the case: I see you, I'm not going anywhere, and you don't really have an effect on me except to make me wonder why you don't have anything better to do with your time. 6

Jeff Burton Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Done. I've been here long enough, it's the least I can do. 3
Krista Posted July 15 Posted July 15 It looks like the ones y'all have sent may have flagged or something. Possibly the sudden influx of reviews, all seemingly positive (assuming you sent positive ones), and they're in no hurry to see if those reviews are organic or not. Kind of makes me wonder why a site like that is even worth the trouble, if they're going to be this slow and rely so heavily on flagging algorithms that takes forever to review. Why anyone would waste time leaving a review and giving it so much weight is a curiosity for me. Not to discourage though. I was waiting to see if/when the first ones were posted before I sent mine in. For those of you that have been waiting well over a week, have you checked to see if there is an explanation for the delay? 1

I am not a fan of that site at all as it specialises in libel. and as you can see, they are slow as hell about anything that isn't libel 5 1

But hey, gotta try either way. 4

I checked my email because I remembered receiving a confirmation and this is what it says: Quote Hey Broken Boundaries Gay Erotica, It looks like you had a good experience! We received your review of Gay Authors, thank you! We’ll email you as soon as it’s published for the world to see, typically within 48 hours. Thanks again, The Sitejabber Team I never received another email from them. Not sure if it's a delay thing or what Krista mentioned. 🤷♂️ 2

Not sure if it's a delay thing or what Krista mentioned. 🤷♂️ See, that just makes me want to become an annoyance... Having been here since 2006 through all the growth, pains and all, I know GA is worth more than just two stars. If this site isn't going to cooperate with reviews well within their guidelines, then they are showing a blatant bias. You were one of the first reviewers, your reviews have had plenty of time to be evaluated, and if "silence" is their way of saying, "not allowable or within the guidelines," then that is just a poor model on their part, and entirely substandard for a site that is functional only on the basis of allowing other websites to be reviewed. If it were just one review being left out, then I'd think it may be a possibility, but all of them, no. I do not care to make a mess of things. Edited July 16 by Krista 2
Site Administrator wildone Posted July 16 Site Administrator Posted July 16 Maybe time to review Sitejabber on Sitejabber https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/sitejabber.com 1 1
Popular Post Krista Posted August 7 Popular Post Posted August 7 Update: Sitejabber is a joke. I wrote my review on the 15th, I made a point to check. I received zero communication from them for my pending review. So, I contacted their support. I made it known that I wasn't satisfied with the passing of time and lack of transparency. Ten minutes after sending the E-mail from support, I checked and saw "11" reviews. So, I looked to see if maybe my support e-mail moved things along. It did, apparently, but my review was deemed 'Not recommended,' and will not be published. As you can see, my review is well within the "Above average" categorization pre-publishing. The only thing I didn't supply was a proof of purchase? So, I reviewed Sitejabber. I am still waiting for support to get back to me with an answer to my e-mail. 5 1
Krista Posted August 7 Posted August 7 (edited) They didn't respond to my support e-mail, but they did approve my review for publishing. So, it is now published. It has already received two helpful votes, so we'll see if any of the other reviews become accepted. It may come down to jumping all over their support e-mail and fighting for your review, with evidence that your review was within the guidelines they have in place to begin with. I've read the critical reviews of Sitejabber from other users, it seems like some people have to really fight for their reviews to be posted. So, it may take a bit of a heavier effort to work around them. Edited August 7 by Krista 1 1 1 1
