W_L Posted March 7 Posted March 7 (edited) I just discovered the delight of a London Fog- a tea latte Winter is almost over, so I'm not in the mood for hot chocolate, but coffee is not my beverage of choice during weekends. Regular black tea seemed too plain, and going home to make my own milk tea would be an additional hassle. Thus, I discovered this interesting western equivalent to my usual Hong Kong Chinese staple milk tea at a new cafe near my home. It's a neat change of pace, and the steamed milk with sweet vanilla flavor is great on a cool spring or autumn evening. Folks who like HK milk tea should give it a shot. This made me ponder what other people's favorite beverages might be of the moment, so I wanted to share. Edited March 7 by W_L 3
Jason Rimbaud Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Whiskey Yellowstone is one of my favorites, easy sipping whiskey. No ice or mixer needed. 3 2
Page Scrawler Posted March 22 Posted March 22 (edited) I like to heat up one cup (8 fl. oz) of milk on the stove. Then I add 2–3 tablespoons of sugar, and a splash of vanilla extract. This is good on its own, but what really elevates it to another level is the addition of two bags of Masala Chai. When making a Chai Latte, most folks typically brew the tea first, then add milk after. I prefer to steep the tea directly in the milk. ——— For the hotter months, is there anything better than old-fashioned lemonade, paired with salt-and-vinegar potato chips? 😋 I don't have a specific recipe that I use for the lemonade. It changes on my whims, but I like to simmer water, sugar, lemon juice and some strips of lemon zest in a saucepan. Bonus points if there's herbs like mint, thyme, or rosemary added in. After the mixture has cooled, I strain the solid bits and add water to dilute the syrup into something drinkable. Edited May 3 by Page Scrawler 1 1
Krista Posted March 27 Posted March 27 I'm boring as hell and I only drink water. Occasionally I'll drink juice if I can find low sugar, zero added sugar it is surprising how junk most juices in this world actually are. Peach juice being my favorite. For a warmer drink I'll mix a little concentrated peach juice into tea, but my body doesn't handle caffeine, so it has to be a low caffeine blend. I am a pure indulgent sucker for unhealthy, sugar heavy, artificially flavored + blended up cherry milkshakes and/or smoothies though. I allow myself to have a few of those in the summer months. I make them myself and I fuss at myself the whole time knowing all the terrible things I'm putting into them, but doing it anyway. 1 3
William King Posted March 27 Posted March 27 I rather like this: ice tea (black tea or green tea if you prefer) with a hint of peach. But, beware, the ingredients in France (3% sugar) are not the ingredients in the USA (26% sugar), so I can't vouch for it being low in sugar and free from additives where you live. 1 1
TetRefine Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Coke Zero Orange Cream. However, I went to Target the other day to pick up a pack and couldn't find it. After searching around online, I found that it was only a limited-time flavor and is now discontinued. I now need to find another good flavor of Coke Zero for my afternoon caffeine kick at the office. 2

Ron Posted May 3 Posted May 3 18 grams of whole coffee beans freshly and finely ground (11 on the Baratza Encore grinder) put into an Aeropress coffee maker. Add enough hot water (just off the boil) up to the number 2 then press through with the plunger into a mug (containing the contents of two Sweet 'n' Low packets), and then pour the brewed coffee over ice in a tall glass and top up ice cold water. I do this several times a day and it's always enjoyable. In the evening I do enjoy a martini but I find martinis to be a cold weather drink, and what with warmer weather and its subsequent humidity arriving with it a martinis days are numbered. Otherwise, there's always the tasty and classic cocktail Negroni.
Zombie Posted May 8 Posted May 8 mostly it’s tea, quite strong, in a mug (at least 3 mugs each morning ) - what we call ‘builder’s tea’ (cos that’s how builders like it ) here’s some builders hard at work, drinking tea https://www.pbctoday.co.uk/news/hr-skills-news/construction-workers-spend-130-hours-a-year-on-tea-breaks/35827/ 1 1
