This is by far and away my favorite novel-length story on GA. There are so many stories centered around jocks in gay literature, but in Cross Currents, the characters feel so authentic. There were times over my reading of Cross Currents where I wanted to punch Andy, hug Andy, cry for Andy, and fuck Andy. Never before in any story I've read (gay or mainstream) have I ever felt this way about a character. The fact that Andy comes off as so real (and is essentially actually real) makes you really able to feel with him throughout so much of the story. It is so worth the time to read, and you'll be an emotional wreck by the time its over (and I mean that as nothing but a pure compliment).

Wow, that is truly an incredible story and absolutely one worth sharing.

Nothing but respect for these guys who not only fought for their country, but also had to deal with extreme prejudice and discrimination in the process.

Please, do not act as if Europe is any better at race/ethnic relations than the US. Europeans are often far more blatant about their racism then most Americans. Besides, even the major cities of Europe lack the notable diversity of major American cities. I was shocked when I was in London and Paris how whitewashed those two cities were compared to New York or Philadelphia, etc. You treat Arabs far worse in Europe than Americans treat blacks.

The article makes it seem like this is some new phenomenon. Party & Play (PnP as its called here in the US) has been around for a very long time.

It was the political discussion forum on GA. It got closed in December of 2012 because a couple people whined that they got their feelings hurt. It was my favorite forum.

Today, July 1st, marks the beginning of the three day clash that is today known as the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. For those of you not up on American history, Gettysburg is a small town in the northern state of Pennsylvania. The Confederate Army's move into Pennsylvania was it's first (and only) attempt at invading into Northern soil, as the war up to that point had taken place primarily in Virginia and Maryland. Long story short, over three days of incredibly bloody fighting, the Confederate Army was dealt a crippling blow and forced to retreat back into Virginia. 160,000 troops total took part, and 50,000 were either killed, wounded, or captured. The Confederate Army never fully recovered from the crippling losses, and was put on the defensive for another 2 years of bloody conflict till they finally surrendered in April of 1865. Thus, in a small Pennsylvania town unknown to the world, the unity and freedom of the United States of America was upheld by 94,000 brave Union soldiers. Maybe the problem is that you got a $12 NZD, or about $8.50 USD, haircut. Seriously man, if you care about your hair it is worth it to get a more expensive haircut. I cringe every time I shell out $30 USD for my haircut, but I always leave satisfied.

I have no sympathy for the South during Reconstruction. They enslaved an entire race of people and tried to break up the United States. They continue to drag this country down with their back-ass ways and are the reason why their is still a lot of hate toward LGBT people in this country. You rebelled, and you lost. You got punished for rebelling, and then 100 years later had to be punished again for your continuing poor treatment of black people. Get with the 21st century and stop crying over getting your asses kicked.
