    A Constant Craving

Just started reading this story. I too love the language;more atmospheric than mere description. Look forward to read more
  2. both my parents were somewhat relieved when my marriage (to a woman) broke down, they never really liked her, tho' they did their best because she was my wife. a few years later i met a bloke and surprised myself by realising I was gay. while the relationship didn't last, I did come out to first my mother then Dad. For some reason I decided to come out to Mum while we were fixing my sister's photocopier. Mum's reaction? "well that won't fix the photocopier". Equally with Dad I chose the day of his mother, my grandmother's funeral as we were driving to the cemetery. His reaction? "jeez, she must have been awful" referring to my ex. As the first out gay bloke in the family I did get lots of very unusual questions - primarily around how "out"was I going to be. One cousin seemed to think I was going to do the whole twin-set-and-pearls routine. This was all 25+ years ago. my partner and I met 17+ years ago and has been universally accepted largely, I think, because he "fits in" to the family better than my wife ever did. having read some of the awful stories some people have shared I do feel that whatever difficulties I went through I was so fortunate to have a family that at the very least was prepared to listen, learn and accept.
  3. no, probably not, particularly if he takes his drinking seriously.... :-)
  4. We if that is what it takes to get Granger to sweep me off my feet, i am going out to find an orchard now! Makes sense, if you want fruit, go to an orchard....

    Chapter 2

Well, just started reading this. What an objectionable main character! I realise i am being set up by you, the author, but a character who only does things that other people don't like, who only has money from a father he won't talk to, who has created a back story about his parents that seems to deny reality (he knows that they hate eachother, however they talk about him for two hours). This kid needs a dose of reality. Great start to a story; not sure i have been this involved in a story this early for a while!
  8. Her character was based on Molly Brown ( called the unsinkable molly brown after she survived another ship wreck) and a more Tonto-esque chracter i cannot imagine!

    Long Shot

My knowledge of hockey is limited to say the least so i have no idea if there is such a team or if it has an out gay team captain, but the story is all real enough to make it all sound perfectly legit! Keep on writing , i am intrigued

    Chapter 2

great depiction of a truly amazing dilemma. pedophilia is one of those hideous things that, IMHO most people simply cannot conceive of doing. while most of us can imagine being driven to murder someone, or even torture, but what is being described in your stories is hideous. That you make the story readable despite this amazing. I sincerely hope that there will be some in this story who come to a very sad end...
  11. Just found your stories. The confusion and self doubt of adolescence! Added to the grief of losing a first lust; Well captured.

    Chapter 3

Great story, definately worth pursuing. I agree with the cooment that longer chapters tend to help build a more memorable story. But nevetheless, congrats on getting it on line, something I have never been brave enough to do!

    Chapter 42

Truly wondeful Christmas gift. While our hero did handle the clumsy and inept Dundas very well, i am concerned about Grainger and Caroline's relationship; she is a asset at the very least and could be a sound councillor if he could only get over his silly misplaced pride. In treating her the way he does he is only damaging himself.

    Chapter 4: The View

Enjoying this very much. I love the intricacies of village life. I have lived in small towns and while not as perverse or entertaining as st george, certainly there were similarities!
  17. What a great start! Brilliant intro to a story. Lots of detail, lots of hints, all in a similar direction, but not yet obvious what is info and what are frighteners.....

    Chapter 37

Looks like Granger is well on his way to winning over macclesfield. Another reason for Berry to dislike Granger. Itis a wondeful feeling to annoy people because you do the right thing!
  20. I cant belive that the Black Widow herself wont have a plan B (and C and D for that matter). She hasntbeen is this game for as long as she h as without learning to take care of all contingencies. So now we have three "combatants" for want of a better word. the graingers; financialy probably the weakest but huge amount of societal clout and probably political as well. JP and Stef (and family); finacially the strongest, but consistent unity has never been a strong point. Also quite a few skeletons that can be produced for neferious effect The Black Widow herself. Main strength - a sense of purpose that could only be described as singular: revenge. Also she has manipulatable "plants" in both other families that she can work to her advantage seemingly at will. All in all it looks like the scene is set for a wonderful read!

    You're Missing

Playing catch up with this story. I enjoy cj preciousness and his very perfect dads, however i do have misgivings about the treatment of the two police officers. While not condoning what they did for a second, i am not sure destroying two mens lives and that of any families they may have is an appropriate or fair punishment. Showing them the error of their ways, getting them to workwith glbti youth, working with them to improve the reward system for arrests within the police force would have actually improved people and systems so that these incidents do not occur. As it is, the polce force has wasted a lot of money getting rid of two trained officers, no one has learned any lessons and there are a few bitter and twisted people in and out of the force. Obviously this is a story and not the bible on how to rectify the ills of society, but all too often recently what is see n as the solution is what is quick and not what is right. The solution that cj produced is exactly what id expect a teenager to come up with. It is not one i thought a successful more mature marine and his business man partner would have agreed to. Welll that was some rant! Perhaps it was because i have only had one coffee this a.m.? I am enjoying the read, despite the rant. That said , if any child of mine said "prolly" they'd get a quick and sharp lesson in english! Thanks and regards

    Chapter 36

Wondeful chapter. More questions re daventry's attitudes, more evidence of our boys mastery of the unexpected, more evidence of his political acumen. And the added bonus of a classical / roman haircut. What more could a reayder ask for? Except, of course, the next installment!
