Great Uncle Edwin reminds me of my great uncle Herbert. A pious church going man, who taught at a ‘Christian’ college. He could be and was at the best of times insufferable. And with his roving eye, it was a wonder how he managed to fool many. It was while on a church mission to Manila, that all the Filipino houseboys were changed out at his mother-in-laws insistence…. -

Thank you for this, and leaving the possibility of furthering the story. Just as importantly, publishing this as a completed story. So many great authors start to post before the story is completed, and then get lost...leaving us with an unfinished work. -

Normally, this would have been a story I would have walked away from, until I gave the first chapter a chance, and got hooked, as you will see by my comments. There is a richness and depth to all who populate this story that leaves you wanting more. And for me, the scene in "The Nail" was one of the best parts of this story, and where I fell in love with Mack and Mills. I can't wait for the next installment! -

This was a powerful emotional chapter that hit, the understated need we all feel….to simply matter… “Yes,” Cianán said. “Not of the fading itself. I have watched it happen enough times to understand it. It is not like dying, not the way your people die. It is more like a fire burning down very slowly to embers. There is warmth at the end. There is no pain.” He paused. “What I was afraid of was fading without having mattered to anyone. Leaving the world without anyone knowing I had been in it.” He turned to look at Aiden directly. “Airmed knew. But Airmed was gone. After her I began to think that was how it would end for me. Quietly. Without witness.”

Stupid brown hair, short, and slightly tousled. Stupid big hands, and big ears, and not at all feminine and curvy like Mickey typically married. Nope, that and the dangly big between the legs that Mickey was definitely not interested in, well aside from random dreams that he swore he’d never had. And this one time, in school…
