I assume Thomas was more than a friend, and the insurance is a sad reminder of a tragic event. I think Oliver and Julien need each other now more than ever.

I get a kick out of the goat, either running wild across the countryside, eating mother's good linen, or providing food for some time. The bounty that this farm has is due to the foresight and efforts of August's grandfather and grandmother, from berries to several types of fruit to pecans. Along with potatoes and carrots, and possibly onions in the ground as well. I admired how well the house and barns were built and made to last. But I missed the paved cellar floor...that took wisdom and foresight! All this farm needed was someone(s) to bring it back to life, and I, for one, am looking forward to the trip to town!

I, for one, don't like Fan Fiction; while I realize it has its place, it is something I would never cross the street for. That said, knowing the author, I'm more than willing to give it a chance... While I have seen Kevin Costner in other programs/movies, to date I haven't seen a single minute or episode of Yellowstone...but...I just came back from a week at Yellowstone National Park, so I may consider myself well-acquainted and quite the expert...just sayin....

While I had been thinking that Drew and Evie's place would work, I am glad they found this place..While doing renovations can be painful at times, speaking from experience, if done in bits and pieces, it makes it more manageable. For my entry for the Secret Author, it was mostly done on the PC. However, there were nearly 40 pages of notes, scribbles, and thoughts from the 3 AM trip to the bathroom that were kept on a notepad on the tabletop next to my bed. Not to mention having Siri text me while driving with random thoughts as they came while driving. More than once, I had to figure out what the heck I wrote down before making that needed trip to the loo...

I think @dboggs9700 might have something here concerning Jack, who, BTW, is spending an inordinate amount of time and effort harassing Nick From Ch 1... “Sure we are.” Jack lowered his voice, though not enough to keep the others from hearing. “You still checking everyone out in the locker room?” Nick had stared at the floor and said nothing. “Come on,” Jack continued. “You can tell us which one of us you like best.” The boys beside him laughed. They did not touch Nick. They did not threaten him or call him anything a teacher could clearly punish. They simply used their bodies to keep him trapped while Jack turned his humiliation into entertainment. As to Team Kit or Team Luke, I can't make up my mind. If I had to guess, I may favor Team Luke... Luke seems to be putting in more effort in getting Nick to respond, but it could be his nature and the way he crosses all the social strata in high school...Luke kept after Nick until he caved....and we know there is another "study session' the following Saturday. From Ch 1 Luke stood at the end of the second row, seventeen years old now and entering his junior year. He was not as tall or heavily built as Kit, the twins, or some of the linemen. At five feet nine, Luke had the lean, defined body of someone trained for speed. His blond hair fell untidily across his forehead, and even in the formal team photograph, he appeared to be on the verge of laughing. Nick knew more about Luke than he had any reason to. As to Kit, was the drive-by happenstance or something else? Driving when he shouldn't makes me think it was a drive-by. ATM simply not enough info on Kit and his motivations, and little to go on to make any definitive declaration either way.. While it might shorten Nick's life, the next time Jack harasses him in a public setting, if I were Nick, I'd simply say, "Jack...you've got nothing to be interested in; so stop asking me!" Loudly....

And Lord Wrexham is still out there fleecing those at the gaming tables...Perhaps one should catch him in the act... And for all that is holy...don't wear the victim's clothing in the city...or at the gaming tables...
