Here in Central Massachusetts, the rains came this week, and it was as advertised; our half of the state got rain as predicted. For the most part, sudden, very heavy showers, interspersed with a few soaking rain showers. Our town is part of the Quabbin Reservoir watershed area. Nearly half of the town is protected land with a hundred or so old dirt roads one can bicycle on. And then one town over is the reservoir, with many more miles of old town roads to explore. Nearby, in the watershed area, in the 1780's a family owned a slave who was freed on the owner's death; the gentleman who inherited the property thought otherwise, and the case ended up in a courtroom where the slave was granted his freedom, one of the first instances in the state and other colonies where slaves were recognized as persons.
Have a good week everyone...stay cool, be cool, and you are cool!!!
