I only ask as it is a large part of this first chapter, alluding to, but not fully explaining why the differences are so stark between your two protagonists...it is the main part of the shifting dynamic and it raised my curiosity. Please note, as the author you need to create this story as you intend, I am simply along for the ride as it were...

Having watched a couple of shows on smugglers at airports and other places, I am never surprised by the great lengths these folks go to 'hide' the stuff they should not be carrying. To Catch a Smuggler is on Nat Geo. That Jasper and all were "only" smuggling pocketbooks and perfume is a joke, considering the money to be made smuggling other stuff. The blowback is going to be very interesting to say the least....Let's not forget that this all happened because Jasper was stalking Toby, and if not stalking, then what was he doing in the first place???- 8 comments

Sober or inebriated this boy is a slow-moving trainwreck... How will I ever live this down? Why did this have to happen to me? I guess I'd figure it all out after waking up sober. Shit… can't wait to see how that'll go down.

This chapter was exceptional, a master class in wordsmithing! You've struck a vein of possibilities, none remotely promising. I can't wait to see the interaction between Griff and Alexis. Knowing what she knows about Griff, will she allow Griff to have any skin-to-skin contact? Would Griff be able to 'see' anything from Alexis by touching an object she held? While this style isn't my cup of tea, I am fascinated to see where you take this. Well Done!!!

A fitting conclusion to this part of the story...and oh what tangled webs we weave when first we practice to deceive... Who knew just getting the Senate to play along had already cost me my Right of Correction? "Raising the torch high on the darkest night, summoning the willing to gather in the light, illuminating the path to the future." Carefully, I slotted the circuit board into the hidden bay. "Time passes, withered leaves will fall, branches severed from the tree will decay." As I watched the slot retract and the cylinder lower, I knew it was done. -

I used to live in a town where the better off would discard power tools and things like lawnmowers and snowblowers because they weren't working...due to the lack of simple maintenance... Needless to say, I loved this chapter!!! Not a clue... Hope you enjoyed this little snippet! Still not a name, but a bit more detail about the mystery boy. Maybe some have figured out who it is?

Well, for the most part, Will's mission to find Joey succeeded...and then some... Will has some reminders, some painful, some as evidence, and the folks Joey screwed over... There's a reminder on Will's pants...Could those pants become evidence? There's a reminder of Joey on Will's cast, where it met his face There's a reminder that Catlin is carrying a baby of Joey's...is she the only woman he got preggers? Who was that mysterious man at the bedroom door? did he have contremps with Joey? How did Joey make it to the pool unnoticed, were his pants down around his ankles, or did someone manage to hide the offending member? That's all I got for now....

My mind kept screaming...take some f'uking pictures, it is the only way to nail the bastard. I am very concerned/worried that after mom got in between father and son, that his anger just might/may be turned towards her in his uncontrolled rage, I fear for her health/safety.... Take some f'uking pictures and file a report!!!!! Thank goodness for Luca....
