Amazing, with such a strong, core belief about mixing up the gene pool in this society, the action almost seems counter-productive to Piqsirpoq's vision of the future... To what point and what intended results are they going with this blatant attempt??? To create/clone a series of Richter's? Normally, this wouldn't necessarily be a problem, especially given that we live in such a highly stable artificial environment where we don't need to worry about some massive extinction event happening suddenly. But the high-density compressed codes in our genes mean that even a small drift could cause countless precious legacies to vanish forever! This was one of the first things every wolf is taught as soon as they're old enough to understand--the immense responsibility we bear. "Would it matter?" The slow roll-out of answers continues apace the slow-roll out of questions...very intriguing to say the least...like others, we need to know more about just who/what faction hired the canines!!!

I think there is a dearth of age-mates for Nari, and of those available, I get the sense they may passably tolerate him, just guessing here...Then there were some clues as to his sexuality as well... The tree in the courtyard has some significance/importance and may have some importance to Ben. One has to wonder just how long will Ben stay, or is this all a realistic dream he's having??? Loved this chapter, need more!!!

Slender, more like skinny, from what she could see under his jacket. A wide brimmed cap pulled down almost to his eyebrows, dark hair pulled back into a man bun, some light scruff on his face. He cocked his head in a kind of cute way, as if he was appraising her. “I dunno. Let’s see how it goes.” “Fair enough,” he said. With that, he flattened a bill down on the bar. “Here’s a little encouragement.” As he got up to leave, he glanced at her in a way that made her feel immediately uncomfortable. Plus, he had a funny smell.

I know folks/friends just lie that and they appear to love wallowing....

I'm thinking/wishing that Barb is heavily pregnant, married to a chain-smoking, tattooed, beer swilling, fried chicken eating heavy weight trucker.... The boys might separate, but hopefully not for long...That's all my fantasy has at the moment... Breaking the kiss, he looked deeply into my eyes.
