This chapter was a tour de force to say the least. Carmella is proving to be quite the capable asset to George, I am a little concerned with William's reaction. If others were jealous of George's accomplishments/victories in the past, that little sojourn up to London was a masterpiece!! Here's hoping the Princess Amelia's stay is comfortable!

From Groupie To Roadie/Lover?
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in From Groupie To Roadie/Lover?
I suspect good old Chris just may be behind this little fox paw... Why am I reminded of Madeline Kahn in Blazing Saddles @Cane23 Fourteen inches?! 14"?! As 35.5 cm?! Now, you are not writing sci-fi anymore, it's fairytale! 🤣 How could he not stare?! Everywhere he looks is that monster 🍆 -
Many unexplained undercurrents at play here, most concerning are the two 'extra' folks in the conference call and the 'grands' accident...then we learn several international crime syndicates are now involved, could those folks be tied into the troubles with the first criminal group they encountered???

Wasn't that book about a coal fired whaling ship???

Jem's experience hunting with his father, his observations are bearing fruit, they aren't suppositions but rather keen observations. Something tells me both Jem and Nico both just may be needed above decks.

Adam's family not finding a way to send at least one person to see him while he is recovering is puzzling. It didn't sound as if any of them were doing poorly, the funds from selling the house, unless all taken by bills/extended care expenses, should have afforded the funds for someone to go visit...Cheese and crackers folks...what the F are credit cards are for... If someone in my family was as badly hurt and in recovery as Adam, you can bet your sweet ever-lovin-bippy, that I would have found a way to go...it's frigging family!!! Having said all that and having no strong opinions, I'm loving the slow burn and the delaying of the repair work to the dock and what it portends...

An evening party: Dan’s tale
drsawzall commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in An evening party: Dan’s tale
Can't add much to the comments above, but my curiosity was piqued with the following, inquiring minds would like to know which end was doing the winking... Jack, one of the contract staff, was getting something out of his bag, bent over, winking at me. Not unpleasant, gave me unprofessional thoughts; it was definitely time to get home." -
Color me intrigued, the telling points are...Alex needs to be kicked to the curb regardless of children or not, the romance has or is dying... The request for DNA pretty much sums up a parental responsibility may/might/is in the not-too-distant future... And...I'm willing to bet more than one according to the following... Will his and Alex's relationship survive the surprises in store for the young Marine? How does Ken adapt to the suddenness of children and everything that comes with them?

Intrigued as all get out here and glad to see another odd, onward door has opened in your imagination, leading us down a new road... It's too early to be supposing on any suppositions but boy oh boy it looks like to be another fantastic adventure!!!! It is a good thing they landed on the hardy planet Benteen where they have been able to survive for 500 years, and not the planet Dentine, where the vicious weinerdogs, sorry...not sorry... @weinerdog, is overrun by these pesky critters, where even the tyrannosaurus rex lives in constant fear....

I just love your take, I'm still giggling...Remember, not every fireplace can accommodate large logs!!! As Smokey the Bear would tell you, "Only you can prevent log abuse" In the first instalment, Pete's is described as a Men's Bar There's another installment in editing...As to more...you just peaked some interesting thoughts!!

I LOVE A RAINY NIGHT PREFACE: Well, I love a rainy night I love a rainy night I love to hear the thunder Watch the lightning When it lights up the sky You know, it makes me feel good Well, I love a rainy night It's such a beautiful sight I love to feel the rain On my face Taste the rain on my lips In the moonlight shadows Showers washed All my cares away I wake up to a sunny day Songwriters: David

Aunt Sally was Darren Hubbard in actuality, a legend on the drag circuit. At six-foot-four inches and somewhere north of two-hundred-and-fifty pounds, the exact weight was a mystery, as one never asked a lady their weight or age

I have to agree with the comments above, the lack of effort on Julia's part is a bit worrisome, up to the recent past Oscar wasn't hard to find... Agreed...better to be safe/sure than sorry!!

I wonder, and I may have mentioned it previously, if any the police contacts Andrew sought out, might be keeping loose tabs on his whereabouts...just a random thought... How to describe Mr. Black....and the business he is in... Despite his prostrations to the contrary, Mr. Black could be called a commodities trader...or a farmer for that matter. When all is said and done, he is in the business of, for the lack of better words, harvesting/trading what his clients are willing to buy. While he makes the amoral comment that he is merely servicing a need, contrasting himself as no different than a titian of industry, a banker, or an employer, and that the vast majority of the common folk are simply economic serfs...in debt to the proverbial company store...What he fails to delineate in this case, is that most do so willingly in providing for themselves and families. It is an important distinction to keep in mind. I remember some heated arguments with my father over the Viet Nam war, I was young and naive and a gung-ho John Wayne fan at first. Dad having served in China during WW2 tried to impress upon me that while many societies are different, and only want what is best for them, there remain stark cultural differences particularly on the value of individual lives. Just as psychologists will tell you that not all humans are wired the same, think about the differences between an empathetic person and a psychopath... I guess what I am trying to say is that the world isn't all sunshine and roses, that everything has a value, and there are some who place value on the truly despicable... To wit...... "Yes. We all need to make a living, Mr. MacCabe. I buy certain people and I sell them. They go to nice homes and are clothed and fed. As I mentioned, it is much more than they likely could have expected in their miserable lives." "You can't honestly believe that? They are used. Overworked, enslaved to use the correct term." Black chuckled softly. "Enslaved? Mr. MacCabe, I am not a purveyor of farm workers and maids. Which is what I believe you are referring to. In fact, you may be surprised that I agree with you in that case. No, I locate and provide the beautiful. Rare creatures to fulfill the dreams and desires of those who can afford to own another human being. Not everyone can, Andrew." Only some people want to. Andrew stared at the dark figure. "What happens to the people you sell after?" "After? After what?" "After they are no longer desirable. After they are no longer young or pretty?" Mr. Black was silent briefly. "Well, to be honest, it's not my affair." "So, once they are sold you wash your hands of them." "Mr. MacCabe, does the farmer come and ask how you looked after the potatoes you purchased from him?" "Oh, come on! Potatoes are not people."

Truer words never spoken... It was Caroline who summed it up, commenting that whilst neither of them might be able to make peace with the Fathers, they needed to reach the point where it was something that was in the past, put to bed, and not the sort of festering sore which kept coming back.

Josel and Zdain have been careless to the extreme, one hopes they can slip out of sight without detection, more than likely several groups are after them....

Thanks, we had the foresight to place the family property into a trust saving from the clutches of those who would dispose of it in the case of my aunt.
