He knew his mate regretted leaving things with Vann unresolved. His anguish was palpable through their bond. Asa felt it in a way that was similar to a fine-tuned instrument hitting a wrong note.

And yet scum like Calvin seem to thrive on the misery they inflict on others…all we can hope for is that he shows his true self in the courtroom… There has to be some monetary gain for Calvin to push the envelope so far in this case…

Hoo boy dagnabit...this was one heck of a chapter to say the least.... And speaking of saying the least...way not to go Caleb...you frigging putz,. it is called testicular fortitude... The boy looked up from the book he’d buried his nose in and broke out in a wide grin. “Alpha Caleb!” Caleb’s heart leapt into his throat at the sight of his son. Vann had grown a couple of inches in the time he and Asa had been healing the hybrids. Gone was the cute-as-a-button little boy. He now had the lankiness of a teenager, complete with a sharpness to his features that hadn’t been there. It was a shock when Vann got up and threw his arms around Caleb’s waist in a tight hug. He had always prided himself on control, and his son clinging to him tested his control like nothing else had. He and Asa’s schedule meant that his and Vann’s paths hadn’t crossed since their arrival. As much as it hurt, Caleb preferred it that way. It was easier to shield his heart when there was some physical distance between them. “Hello, Vann. It’s good to see you.” It’s good to see you? What the hell was that? Inwardly rolling his eyes at himself, he felt Asa nudge him a little. It was just enough to snap him out of his idiocy. Truer words never spoken Caleb...is dumbfuck your middle name....just when the jury was warming to you Caleb took the opportunity to spend time with Silas. I know it hasn’t been easy, but you have the support of your mate to carry you when needed. It’s no longer necessary to shoulder the world by yourself. You deserve to be happy.” “I don’t always think so, but I’m starting to believe it.” “One more thing. Don’t let your foolish pride get in the way of what you want the most. The boy is old enough to know the truth. I think @weinerdog and @Geemeedee have the gist of what is happening and not happening. other than the teen protagonists in the story, no one is talking to each other...And that includes Seth and his interactions with most adults, which adds up to nada, zippo, not much,,,can you say pretty much non-existent. Something is off with Seth's father...He isn't what he is cracked up to be...

And the mystery continues, while we have confirmation the catamaran won't be blown up or lost, will it perhaps run aground??? As @weinerdog stated...mmmm...donuts!!!

Once again we are treated, or is that tricked, into reading another tale in the Charlie Boon compendium, and it does not disappoint. Well written, engaging and as expected, full of surprises!! Take the time to read this, you won't regret it!!

Thanks Geron for another fantastic tale with a truly superb ending. I am sure the housewarming party will be splendid, with just a hint of problems for the boys and friends to solve! I hope they don’t change the house at all as who knows what roads any of the doors may lead to!!
