Chapter 35 - The Burn Throne
drsawzall commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 35 - The Burn Throne
Time to wield the sword of retribution and put an end to these fu&kers.... -
Goodness gracious me...what possibly could happen??? At least check to see if there is cell phone service, if not, transition into a dog, place clothes and a phone in a backpack and skedaddle down to the other end of the lake and for goodness sake, call Ranger Rick or the police!!!

I don't think so, it was in a non-abusive, humorous way and manner!!! I think it was friends interacting with friends!!!

Up and to the point I retired, I had the same problem.... Great start to the second book!!! Would the demon that 'captured' Nathan recognize him in this new disguise???

The interaction with the elephant was truly heartwarming and such a pleasure to read about!!!

As others noted, Keith needs some clarity regarding his past, understanding that talking about helps to slay the demons and is a path forward to understanding forgiveness. In that simple act of letting the pain go comes the freedom to unabashedly being yourself... Amen to the following, as to what a drab world this place would be without the following...

It seems that some things never change... David rounded up Bradley and Ollie and was about to leave when Tyron said, “I was stoked when some of the girls on campus commented to me about the last video. I’m looking forward to hearing their comments about this one.” He then teasingly asked, “Bradley what did the girls at your school say to you after they saw the last video?” Bradley went red and started urging David, “Come on Dad we’ve got to get home”. That seemed to provide an answer to the question. Then as @Summerabbacat mentioned, I share the same concerns that he does regarding Ollie's mother...Was the real story about the death of Ollie's father???

Once again, I am, glad to have eaten before residing this chapter!! Of course extra rasin bran cereal is by no means an acceptable substitute for the meals described therein... It was good to see Paul and Marie and saddening to see the loss of the parents. It has me wondering if we may see them move back...

I suspect something huge, specular, and mind blowing is coming our way... This has been bothering me for a bit, the way Billy verbally confronted Judge Crustypants in court, the derogatory comments and personal insults should have by rights, landed him in jail and removed from the case...yet it did not... More to the point, after coming out of the Judge's chambers after that outburst, the lack of ramifications for Billy are mind boggling.... Then we now learn this... “I'm sorry my husband was dick,” Trevor offered once Diego was finished. “He should've acted more professional and treated you with the respect you and your family deserves.” “Thanks.” Diego was grateful that Trevor didn't offer any excuses. “I wish I felt that I was overreacting.” “I'm honestly surprised you're not more pissed than you are. I know Billy has his reason for pushing the judge's buttons, but he really needs to find other means of accomplishing his goals.” “What do you mean, 'Billy has his reasons for pushing the judge's buttons'? Does this still have to do with his dad and the judge?” Trevor paused, clearly trying to measure his words. “It's very...complicated. I can't say anything more than that.” “Why not? If our boys are involved or at risk--” “You just need to trust Billy. Right now, he's the only hope you've got. I wish I could say more, but my hands are tied.”

A lot of unexplored tangents at play here. Lord only knows how things will shake out, there is one certainty and that is Chalmers pretty much self-immolated himself, taking his family as collateral damage... Critically what remains is the betrothal of Calvert and the creation of an heir and Grainger, he will always be such to me, squiring eligible Ladies to various events. I once had a history teacher who exclaimed that the worst thing for peace...was peace... Has the Guild fully retreated or are they licking their wounds till an opportunity comes their way? What of Bertie and the opium trade? Freddie and the harlot, I can't bring myself to use her name, is she still gambling a fortune away? And what of his grandfather, Admiral Lambert, what news from that part of the world???

A very well written chapter filled with nuances and legalese...I hope with all the scrubbing behind the ears wasn't missed!!

Another fast paced and great chapter...I'm thinking Pete may need to use an umbrella on sunny days, look for the blazing tails of meteors headed towards earth, and cowboy boots for all the pesky vermin just awaiting a chance at his ankles!!! I wonder if Dr Danbury will become roommates with Mr Chilton???

Oh my goodness...brings me back to my wayward misspent youth...just after the dinosaurs passed and before we discovered leopard skin loincloths....

Like @Flip-Flop, I also was 10 years old at the time of the assassination and in the 3rd grade. As soon as school let out, I ran all the way home to tell my mother the news. She was in the kitchen quietly crying while listening to the radio. At the time we did not have a TV in the house as we siblings constantly fought over what would be watched. My older siblings would be home later and as such, my mother took me to the next town over and rented a TV. We were glued to it for the next several days. I was alone in the living room on the day Jack Ruby shot Oswald...It's a memory that is still vividly clear... My great grandmother had come out of her room to see what the fuss was when I yelled in shock...She was born in 1875, 10 years after the civil war, and saw so many things, electricity, flying to the Philippines to stay with her daughter who was doing missionary work, the first running of the Boston Marathon, both world wars, the moon landing, and so many other incredible events. She passed in 1976, one indelible memory was telling me stories of her great uncle Benjamin who was born in 1798 and passed in 1887. So much for reminisces, I loved the fact that Phil was able to get outside!!! Let's find Stanley and get Phil a date!~!~!
