Have you stopped wearing a watch because you have a cell phone?
Tim the Traveller replied to Toast's topic in The Lounge
I've always hated watches, And now that there are cellphones, I can't ever foresee me ever having one again. -
When I leave the house, I always have a ballcap on. If I sit down at a table or am driving for long distances, Sometimes I will take it off. In the presence of millionaires it ALWAYS comes off. And I can't count how many I own, I buy them in Mexico for $5 each, Whenever I see a unique one that catches my eye I buy it. I must have at least 50 or more though.

Butter. I refuse to eat that other crap that never digests. Look at how high of a temperature it takes to melt it. Does anyone actually believe it stays melted once it is in our bodies and cools down to 98.6? My grandma has had a triple bypass and then 3 stents put in her arteries in her heart since 2003. The heart doctor told her that her arteries were plugged up, And since her cholesterol wasn't high, He really had only one conclusion. Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil. It's the main ingredient in almost all margarine and "butter spreads", And once it enters your body, It gets into your veins and arteries, Then the partially hydrogenated turns back into fully hydrogenated and slowly plugs up your veins and arteries until they plug up completely and you need to have an emergency triple bypass to save your life. Butter all the way

Stoner Buddies and Demeaning Friends
Tim the Traveller commented on methodwriter85's blog entry in Methodwriter85's Blog
When you have so many friends with the same name, You seriously have to separate them somehow. And I agree with Chase...... I(ve) smoke(d) a lot of weed too, On and off for my whole life. But I can't say I would care to be referred to as "tim the stoner" unless in the company of people I was for sure weren't offended by our choice of green herbs we harvest from the ground and use in any way we see fit. Now, If they were jocks, You wouldn't have to worry about it, Because then the only time you know someone's first name is if 2 of them have the same last name LOL And definitely talk to Steve about it. He probably has an opinion, And as a(n) (ex)stoner, I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem with it, He will probably find it at least mildly amusing -
I'm shocked Lugh hasn't stepped in with at least his famous one-liner, So I guess I have to do it for him. Boobies!

Happy Late Birthday Rorreh! Hope you had a good one

Well, Before the infamous speech from Uncle Andy, Nancy(Shane(the kid's)) mom tried but failed miserably to talk to him about it, So she passed it off on Uncle Andy, Who said to her when asked "I'm all over it." This is from Season 2, Currently Season 5 has just ended with Season 6 in the making. And let me just say, Shane is growing up awfully fast, From the time he holds a knife to some asshole's throats and tells them to get out, To when he gets shot, To when he----no, wait, watch the last episode LOL

Well, Hopefully game 2 goes better for the Twins. Win or lose, It's just fun to see the young guns playing their hearts out against the overpaid veterans. GO TWINS! 5PM Central Time
-
Well, The Twins beat the Tigers last night in 12 innings to win the division, So tonight they start the playoffs in New York. I hope the Twins can beat the Yankee's, It's always nice to see the high paid players in the league put in their place by the players who play for game time and recognition, Not millions of undeserved dollars. GO TWINS!!!

An NFL Fact: In his career, Brett Favre has won a game against every team in the NFL, EXCEPT the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Packers most of his honorable career, And his one season he participated with the Jets they did not play the Packers. So tonight, Brett Favre will have to do one thing even he has never done in his fantastic hall of fame career. He must win against the Packers or that is one thing the great QB might never get done, And obviously, It's all about the numbers for him now, Even he admits he isn't at 100% and probably shouldnt be playing anymore. It will be nice to see Aaron Rodgers beat him though. Thats just from an optimistic Packers fan

Well, As someone who is afflicted with hair everywhere except the palms of my hands and the bottom of my feet, I can say I really don't care for it. On other guys, It doesn't bother me, But my personal preference is smooth, Probably just because it's different than I am. And if my hair bothers someone else, Well, Lets just say, I'm glad I don't give a flying leap what anyone thinks of me

Good luck Kurt! Congratulations on your career change. I've just started a new job myself working nights, It's difficult making yourself sleep in the middle of the day. Anywho, I hope you like your new position!

Happy Birthday Luc.

Hey cutie! Looking good. I'm Tim......

No. I may have lost the weight, But I still have some nasty flab around. Besides, I grew up in the late 80's-early 90's. Baggy loose fitting clothes are the way to go MB Someday I will have a body I'm more comfortable with, But that would take years at the gym, And after the physical work I do all day long, The last thing on my mind is physically exerting myself for more hours of any day. So I keep my clothes loose, not form-fitting. Some guys prefer that anyway, I'm a jeans or cargo pants/shorts and a t-shirt kind of person

There Aint No Rest For The Wicked -
Theres a lot of good looking people here, So it's time for some ugly pictures of me. I was at my step-sisters wedding on Sunday and had to pose in at least one picture, So here it is. This is the biggest smile I own and this is as dressed up as I get. Head shot of just me: And myself and some relatives: And yes, Those are Nike's on my feet And heres a pic from when I was 18 when I was fat(I was almost 300lbs. back then  ) and had long hair still. I got it cut about 2 years after this pic was taken

Jamie, I know we dont talk anymore, You might not even remember me. Not the point. Things always suck. My life sucks. Not as much now as it used too, But I have woken up with the only thought on my mind being how to become un-concious again. I spent about 2 years of my life that way shortly after my sperm donor was incarcerated. Did I think of ending it then? More times than I can count. Should I have seen a shrink about it? Probably, But all I could see that accomplishing was them turning me into their next guinea pig--"Here, take these pills and you will feel better". Sorry, I did't wanna be a pill popper anymore than I wanted to deal with life at the time. What I'm trying to say is,(and forgive me, I usually massacre what I want to say by the time I say it), If you have 2 people who care about you, That means you would just about kill them if you actually do what you are thinking of. Of course, If you are anything like me, You won't be able to do it no matter how good it sounds. Some of us are just meant to be punching bags to the world, And it sounds like you are in that exclusive club. Welcome. Of course, At some point, Sometimes the punching bag starts punching back. Sometimes the best revenge is going out and doing the best you can and being the best you can be(no im not an army recruiter). Live well and then rub it in everyones face, and don't share a penny of it with anyone except the 2 people you mentioned that care about you. When I was 18 I had NOTHING except the one backpack full of my clothes. That was a long time ago, And I can't say it hasn't been hell at times, But it's when you rise above everything and not let anything bother you anymore that life gets better. I don't even want to think about all those years that I actually gave a shit about what ANYONE else thinks about me. Now I don't really care if someone thinks I'm a farm-boy hick, Or if someone thinks im an ugly hairy ape. It's easy to look at anyone and see something you dont like about them and point it out to them, Especially if they think they need to bring something like that up in a conversation first. Some people are superficial and facetious, And there's a lot of them in the world. Seek out the real people who actually are decent and care about other people, Because those are the people you need and deserve to have around you. I care about you too Jamie, Even if we don't knoe each other well. I care about all my family at GA, And it would sadden me greatly to lose someone unneccessarily. TimTS

How did you loose weight/keep the wieght off?
Tim the Traveller replied to Niwa Fox Rose's topic in The Lounge
Alot of good answers here. It all comes down to what works for you. I was around 300lbs. in HS. That was 14 years ago. I now weigh just under 200, And am happy right here. I did it by eating the same food I always have. I just ate my meals slower, And at the risk of getting hate mail for being wasteful, I just stopped eating when I was about 5 bites away from cleaning my plate and asked myself "Do you really need the last of that?" and if the answer was no, The rest I didn't eat. As far as physical exercise, I loathe excercising on purpose. So luckily my job helps me out and keeps me active. Try some good old farm labor, It will melt pounds off of you faster than you ever imagined. I also cut out 90% of the Coke I used to drink(Pepsi is my drink of choice), and cut out about 95% of dairy products. I switched from white bread to whole wheat or the bread with all the good grains in it. And if you must eat chips, Eat the baked ones. Fried is just nasty, Look at your hands sometime after eating a handful of them. ewwwwwww. I can't say I ever really decided that the extra weight HAD to come off, I just started at the beginning and have went from there. And yes, I have fallen off my wagon. In 2004 at christmas time, I went on a 7 day cruise. OMG The FOOD! I gained 25lbs in 7 days and it took me 3 almost 4 years to get that back off of me. CRUISE SHIPS TRY TO FEED YOU TO DEATH, Stay away from them at all costs if you have little or no will-power to turn down good food, Or you WILL gain weight. -
I also received the bad news tonight. RIP Amigo Mark. You are loved.

The seatbelt issue is easy to deal with---dont put the car in gear until the seatbelt is clicked--tell her your car wont even shift into gear unless all the seatbelts are buckled And I'm sorry to hear about the laptop. I'm hoping it dries out and is OK for you!
