  1. Pardon me for laughing, but that was hilarious! And a bunch of sexy Aussie male voices, to boot!
  2. You'll also note that the tree branch didn't dent the car.
  3. If you ever get to Southern California, try a restaurant & pub in Fullerton called The Olde Ship. It's most definitely British in flavour and appearance, and quite good if you're homesick for some good pub grub. JC, I notice when you post...I'm keeping up with it...I just don't post reviews for each and every chapter...sometimes I wait several then post, or wait until the end and post.
  4. While revenge is best served cold, that's just downright cruel.
  5. Those must've been designed by a priest!
  6. Getting back on topic, sort of...what's the possibility that Trevor's mom was arrested by local authorities for drug running, either real or trumped up charges, and that rather than transfer her back to the USA where her husband was, they transferred her to Australia, as that was her natural citizenship's state. Dirk, to protect the family's assets and Trevor's potential future, filed the divorce papers to prevent the authorities from siezing the rest of their boats and assets?
  7. I was more inclined to make Sticky Toffee Pudding...
  8. And, for a country that started as a Royal Penal Colony, they turned out all right.
  9. Breathe another sigh of releif, I think guys are sexy from 18 to about 55...especially if they're in shape (unlike me, 'er...'um...nevermind).
  10. In both animation and writing fiction, "All things are possible, Grasshopper!"
  11. You caught me, I always get the two crossed, at least the first letter is the same. Never heard about Cairo, IL, though... And you're right, the company that succeeded DQSC also failed after about 18 months or so. Trebs, some interesting suppositions...here's another: Trevor's mom was a lesbian, the husband found her in bed with another woman, so he felt cheated as he was also a closeted gay man, but as Trevor was still very young, they came to an amiable solution and she decided to place her cat' on autopilot to those coordinates (where there was no wreckage found) while they filed for divorce as well. Dirk got custody of Trevor, not yet knowing that he was going to turn out gay, and he's been so busy hiding his own sexuality that he's forgotten even how to love his own son. That ship with the auto-reporting radar system...what are the chances that Trev's mom's ship was noted and logged the same way by any other shipping firm, or even the same one?
  12. Happy Birthday, Guy...hope it was fun!
  13. Redneck Hell - Anywhere Hawaii The Gay Mecca of the USA - San Francisco (It's not even illegal to be nude in public, there---but it should be for some people anyway) The Middle of Nowhere(?) - Riverdale, Calfornia. (the town's so small it has one blinking light on top each stop-sign of a 4-way stop, if you blink, you can make it over the railroad tracks and never even notice 'town'. (AND: There isn't even a McDonalds or Starbucks there)
  14. Yay, Mark! Awesome work on Ch. 2! I love the interaction between Stefan and Nick, and also between Robbie and Matt or Matt and Wade with the other Hayes' and Laura and Brenda. Especially how Matt took Fred(?) down, again! It's gonna be great to read Stefan reading some of those papers...there's got to be something there that's valuable in all of those historical documents, perhaps even Stefan's original Record of Birth with Steven Schluter as the father (which would re-address Stefan's dual citizenship as from birth)!
  15. Regardless of the navagable route, I have read the story and interpreted that Trevor knows in no uncertain terms that his father is not happy that he's gay, and wishes that he'd stop forcing the issue by suggesting he date girls. I also think Dirk is a closet case, however, and that the attorney is an old lover who was going to help Dirk in the divorce, which went sour when the wife went missing. I think, also, there was a clue in one of the early chapters when CJ mentioned a freighter with the navigation alarms being unmanned while running on autopilot. Why would that have been put in there as a tidbit if it didn't affect anything else in the story? MikeL: A new company which bought the old sternwheelers Delta Queen, Mississippi Queen, and American Queen (built 1994), when Delta Queen Steamboat Company went bankrupt in 2002 or 2003, is now in ownership of a sternwheeler, the American Queen, which--when built--was so tall that not only do the smokestacks tilt, but the pilothouse was built on lowering hydraulics to clear the bridges. Nevertheless, during the high melt off and rainy season floods of 1998 or '99, the boat got stuck at its dock in Cleveland between two bridges, which were not drawbridges or rotating bridges, for about 5 weeks until the floodwaters went down enough to allow bridge clearance.
  16. Nevertheless, it's good to see another new user on the board, especially a new, potential author. NightOwl88, thanks for staggering your story postings on e-fiction, I am reading some of them, so it does make it easier to follow.
  17. Reminds me of my own ubercat...the one in my avatar pic...he weighs in at 12.5 pounds, and most other cats are small in comparison--quite a few dogs, too, now that I think about it.
  18. Hoskins, unless you already have one, try GenoPro for the graphic representations of the family tree...it's used by mental health professionals to chart family relationships, so the geneology party is very nicely done.
  19. You know, there's a penalty on this board for using nasty, four-letter words...
  20. "...as successfully as a single parent (presumably of a single sex)"? I haven't heard of many true hermaphrodites mothering, or fathering, children...as they tend to keep their marriages and sexual situations quite secret. I'm not saying that to sound biased within our own homosexual community, but that is not a sexual flaw, it is genetic, and still causes major sexual identity problems for those are hermaphrodites. BUT, I like the point of your argument, that two same-sex partners can raise and parent a child with time, effort, love, and respect.
  21. Well, then, to all my Aussie Authors, who I consider friends, Happy Australia Day, and maybe Happy Australia Night, too!
  22. Happy Birthday, dude...have fun!
  23. Mark, I just reread Ch. 4 of CAP, and I wasn't able to pick up on anything strong enough to be a clue insofar as who Gail (Tonto) Schluter might have been pal'ing around with on the sly... But if Maman was seeing Bill Hendrickson, hence JP's envelope in his safe. That would leave Gail/Tonto with one of the Hayes' men, Fred then?
  24. Mark, you're a devious brat! (But I love your writing anyway.)
  25. Mark, I think I might have been the one to make the suggestion of a 'family tree' for this (very) complex story arc...and it would be fairly large at this point. I think the easiest way now would be to use a spreadsheet due to the way it can keep the biological and relational clusters together.
