    The worst part of all this is that the man may not have been doing all this consciously. Growing up he has seen his role-models act in this derogatory manner towards women and picked up the norm. I think with the changing times that we are going through, men especially need to look at their gender roles and how it affects others around them, both men and women.

    Well this movie is one of my all time fav. Even if it is incest at some level, you never really feel it through out this visually beautiful movie, neither the dirt nor the shame. It all mellows out in comparison to these two step-brothers love. Yes the last third is a half baked formula movie plot yet it does show some growth on the characters' part. So, I will pardon it. Homosexuality and Latin american society is perhaps one of the most self contradictory convoluted example social dichotomy. There are many movies that shed copious illumination on the matter.     8/10 for me too. I liked the non fiction treatment of the story and especially the character of Zach. I don't think he will make a good Cinderella cause he holds his ground well. His turmoils ultimately left him for the better of it and it's all thanks to his responsible nature. Shaun is lackluster typical prince. Wish he had more dimensions. But undoubtedly class politics is the major mover here. I liked Brokeback Mountain btw. Please do Maurice(1987) next. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093512/

    7/10????? Anything more than 5 is over generosity! I too liked the idea and the hot bods but, beyond that the acting is stunted, the script slow and the plot boring. As for Mr. Power-bottom Extraordinaire, he needs a lot of acting classes.

Jokes apart, I do understand your problem. May be you could see a shrink. But, unless you learn to find happiness in your own self, you will never find lasting happiness and peace. Every external object or person you try to find happiness in, is perishable and liable to change. So, you must learn to be happy on your own, without depending on an outside source. It takes a long time to achieve this. So, do not despair if it takes a little longer. We are here for you.
