In Denmark the main family event is on Christmas Eve. People eat duck or 'flæskesteg med sprøde svær' and small potatoes with a caramel layer (brunede kartofler) with thick brown gravy and rødkål (shredded and pickled red cabbage). Dessert is risalamande, which is a sort of cold rice pudding with warm cherry sauce. Whoever finds the hidden whole almond wins the prize. We then dance around the Christmas tree while singing Danish Christmas songs / charols. Afterwards gifts are unwrapped. On Christmas Day most people either relax or do more family visits usually with a huge Christmas lunch (julefrokost) with the traditional Danish open sandwiches and small hot dishes. Same for Boxing Day and sometimes even the day after as well. Then we all lie low and digest (sort of like overfed, lazy boa constrictors) until New Year.

Prompt #372: The Lesson
Timothy M. commented on craftingmom's story chapter in Prompt #372: The Lesson
This was fun - I'm glad Kayden likes riding his horse, it will be one more thing he and Damien can do together. -
Tillykke med fødselsdagen Thanks for all the interesting extra info you provide in all the CAP forums.

Ohhhh, very hot, I never knew dressing someone could be so sensual. They are certainly keeping each other on edge ! But I loved the idea that they are invincible together. Great chapter and can't wait to see what happens next.

Tillykke med fødselsdagen, Gary I kept quiet about this, but now that Irri spilled the beans, I can congratulate you in public too And as Irri says: this place and the stories wouldn't be the same without you and your insightful reviews and romantic outlook. and from your Danish admirer

Men trust their ears less than their eyes
Timothy M. commented on Aditus's story chapter in Men trust their ears less than their eyes
I've read this three times, and while I'm still blaming Ren for being an idiot, I'm not sure he's a cheater or evil. Whereas Eric is definitely a deliberate relationship wrecker who needs to be kicked hard (preferably over the side of a cliff). Ren must be feeling so embarrassed to have been manipulated by Eric once again. And very hurt that Jonah did not trust him enough to come over when he saw them in the restaurant. Even the conversation he had with Chris can be explained as a misunderstanding due to Ren's usual fucked up way of reacting when he is upset. We know from the earlier fight that Ren gets furious if he is accused of cheating, and I bet he would react without thinking when Chris took it as granted that Ren was cheating on Jonah with Eric. So he would snap out this sarcastic answer that he never stopped seeing Eric (as a friend, but not as lovers), and never think about how Chris would interpret it. I can't think of a logial explanation for the 'Because we could' answer, but I'm sure there is one. All of this just shows how utterly stupid and self-centered and insensitive Ren is, and how little he knows Jonah. I'm all wtf - they've been boyfriends for a year and he has just managed to get Jonah to say yes to move in with him, and he still doesn't know how fragile Jonah's ego is ? No matter if the encounter with Eric was completely innocent on Ren's part, he should have realized how it would look to anyone else and acted accordingly. But oh no, Mr high and mighty asshole knows he is unjustly accused, so he doesn't have to explain but can act all injured and sarcastic. Ren is a fool. Why didn't he make one of his famous plans and realize that getting Chris on his side by being sincere and sad was a much better strategy? If Ren had broken down and showed how he felt about the risk of losing Jonah, I bet Chris would have helped him. I'm still convinced that Chris is the loyal but naive friend and not part of Eric's revenge plans. If Chris told Aurel about taking Jonah to the restaurant, Eric might easily have picked up on that. Anyway, Ren deserves to lose Jonah for being such an idiot. -
I'm not worried about Ty's father bad-mouthing him to the Geelongs. Any club who is stupid enough to miss the problem with Mr. Flanders shouldn't get Ty. And I know it's not the club Mr Partick is working for, since he is aware of the problem. I'm still worried about Dave and the club should push for an emergency session with the psychologist. But let's hope he hangs in there. That Alan guy is a jerk ! Instigating a stupid rumor about Ty and Jim is a petty revenge for being told off by Peter. And I'm guessing a photo of Ty with his arm around Jim's shoulders won't make matters better. I wonder whether Patrick will spot how well Ty and Jim click on the field.

Tillykke med fødselsdagen to GA's most prolific reviewer - I always look forward to reading your reviews. All the best from Denmark. Tim

What the F... Horace? What sort of behavior is that? How can he treat poor Wes so badly? Oh well, at least Roy and Chad are happy - and going to live together, yay.

Quinto 195806.49 & Chelsea 31 December 2015
Timothy M. commented on Carlos Hazday's story chapter in Quinto 195806.49 & Chelsea 31 December 2015
I liked the fact that the people Solcar inhabited and who had their lives disrupted, were restored to a normal sequence of events, although I expect some of those life stories could still come true. Did Colt and Tony end up with two sets of rings ? lol And did the Council accept Solcar's decision and maybe even heed his advice? And how did his brother feel about Solcar's choice? Sooo many questions - and now I'll have to go back and read the whole thing from the beginning. -
Prompt #374: Shopping in Town
Timothy M. commented on craftingmom's story chapter in Prompt #374: Shopping in Town
Such fun. I bet the 'large dinner' was the most difficult part to work in. Maybe the leather shop will get more customers wanting footballs, lol. -
Yeah the song line was familiar and it's been stuck in my head for hours now, damn it. The civil war and the Gettysburg address is something even non-US readers have heard off, although I've never read those lines before. I've actually come across Civil War references in many different types of US literature, and often with the same analogy of dividing friends and ripping apart families and destroying so many young lives. For once I guess Solcar's loss was part of a greater whole of human loss as well as particular to him. I loved the policeman delivering another kind of punch to the obnoxious drunk. No pity there. Serves him right for hitting on the wrong guy.

Prompt #80--Fall Festival Decorating
Timothy M. commented on craftingmom's story chapter in Prompt #80--Fall Festival Decorating
You would have thought that people around Kayden would have learnt not to shout by now. But it certainly was funny. -
Fuck fuck, fuck how can you end there and leave us hanging ?! Things are about to hit the fan and explode all over. I have no doubt Neil's dad will recall how he knows TY, probably when a picture of him in footie gear appears in the local paper or something. And while I have faith that you won't let Dave die, there is still a small niggling fear. And even if Charlie finds him in time or he didn't take enough to die, he will still be considered suicidal. I cannot bear to think what this development is going to do to Charlie and the team. The part with Deon left me with another knot of sadness and anxiety in my guts and the only nice part was Jim and Tony's pillow talk. But I have to admit that was worth getting up early Saturday morning - even if we didn't get any icing.

Good to know you liked the carrot joke too. thanks for letting me know. And yes you're right, Eric did innocently blurt out Nelson's offer to have him stay the night (during breakfast, not dinner). But he's learnt his lesson now and won't make the same mistake twice. Unlike Rob LOL

Whenever I read this I keep hoping that Jules will find his happiness in being with Marshall. In a way it's good that he has no particular ambition except getting away from his parents. He would probably be content with a job in the local town. And Marshall may have found something else than his truck to spend his money on.

Prompt 199 Here we go again!
Timothy M. commented on Timothy M.'s story chapter in Prompt 199 Here we go again!
I'm glad someone got the joke, since I thought it was funny when I imagined it. I think I managed to please Team Rob AND Irri ! It may never happen again. -
This weird concept has made its way over here, I'm sad to say. It makes me even more determined to avoid shopping malls and electronic gadget stores as much as possible. Thank God I don't have to buy a single Christmas present this year.
