What do I think of your slice of family life? I love it, miss sitting with my daughter doing homework, and think everyone should know the joy of that sort of life. Lovely Wayne!

A Pie. With lots and lots of food in it.

We tried your "pie thingy" for dinner last night, with one small change. Instead of just cauliflower, since I didn't have time to get to the green grocer we used a bag of what is called winter mix here - cauliflower, broccoli, water chestnuts, pea pods all mixed together. It was a hit, and its official name in my hand written cookbook is "Thorn's Pie Thingy". No changing the name now dear - its in ink. -
I have to agree with rjo on pretty much everything he has said - on Marks fantastic writing, on how the CAP characters become like family, and on how John should not worry about his English. I studied French for years and I am not sure i could manage a single coherent post in that language. The only thing I disagree with him over is the best book for reading first. I am sort of attached to Paternity, since that is the first story I tripped on the day I joined GA. I went back and started at the original CAP while waiting for chapter updates on Paternity and finished the other books at about the same time Paternity wrapped up. It will continue to be my favorite simply because it introduced me to the Crampton/Shulter family.

lol thank you dear!

Welcome to the discussions John! We seldom agree but we have one hell of a fun time doing it!

As I recall, even when there were good reasons that an individual needed their own vehicle after the game, special permission had to be obtained before hand and the player rode with the team to the event, the family had to arrange an extra driver to get the vehicle there, and after the game the player would accompany the team right up until they boarded the bus, then head for his/her car, and even then the coach would watch till the car was moving. This applied to the female varsity as well as the male. But then, there were all sorts of things happening in the late 70's around here, including race riots in the city and black and white hallways in my school, so perhaps they were a bit over cautious?

(Can debate teams meet at the location?) In the high school I attended, the Debate team, Math team, Science team and the like didn't even GET buses. They had to wangle parent drivers and carpools to get where they were going.

You sir have a way of writing even the feel good chapters in a way that leaves us wanting more! Excellently done! Will's opinion of why Wally rips Zach up may be right on the money. Having had a father who did the same to me as I was growing up, I can completely believe it is Wally's way of hiding how proud/jealous he is of the boy. I half expected Zach to be a tad more upset that Will had any interest in Tony overlapping their time together. It is interesting to watch the boy's relationship evolve over time. It seems to me that this is the first time Will has really looked past the sex in any relationship. Going forward, I think that the Will/Zach relationship may show us just how mature Will is or is not. Caring for someone stuck firmly in the closet emotionally is one thing - being with someone who cannot pursue his dreams and come out at the same time is going to be very difficult for both boys. Thank you for yet another wonderful literary fix.

Just a comment about Wade. In the reply to my review it was said: "You're not the only one who thought Wade "lost it" at the A-Ho party, but I didn't see it that way. I think there's some leeway involved because of the fact he was drunk, but he didn't yell and scream, he was just pretty direct." Loosing it doesn't always mean a screaming fit or shouted argument. A lot of things Wade did at that party were very out of character for him. I think it was an indication that he isn't his usual together calm self. He had a pretty major loss too, and is just as in need of processing his grief as Matt, Will, Brad and the rest!

Monday afternoon @ 4;30 and ready to kick back and relax after picking up a new lesson horse and cleaning out the trailer afterward. Good lord did that horse produce poop on the 5 mile ride home! Did someone feed him hairbo? -
Make yourself comfortable Chris. I don't know what these people are teasing about - didn't look hard to pronounce to me, but then I grew up with an Sz last name! lol

German company Haribo has launched attack against North America
Kitt replied to wildone's topic in The Lounge
Funny you should mention that - we used to camp at a big entry street stock race (entry level stock car racing) every year. There was one guy who called himself Zonker Glatzback after the cartoon character who would show up with no supplies and sleep on the bench seat of his pickup, mooching off of the rest of us for the 5 day camp out. By the third year some chocolate Exlax was stirred into his begged cup of hot chocolate. Low and behold, he started packing food the following year. -
Yes Hil served Luc, but according to the older legends it was a part of having sold his own soul. One does not always like what they are forced to do, now do they?

Matt hasn't taken Frank's advice? Big surprise there huh? The boy needs to see his shrink more often than he is, but I guess like any addiction, no progress will be made till he admits there is a problem and wants to fix it. Will could use a couple more visits himself, but at least he realizes it. Wade worries me. He seems so calm most of the time. Things like the events of the A-Ho party are totally out of character for him. In spite of the "open relationship" he usually doesn't screw around, getting plastered is not a frequent thing, a losing it on Tony and then Matt is really out there. Seems like his extra efforts to deal with things are ways not to deal with things. Kevin, welcome to the ranks of the happily Arbour-addicted. As always, a fantastic chapter. Thank you

No guarantees Lisa, but Hil is still whispering to me, so he might make a return visit or two. Googling "Faust" may help as well. I am glad you enjoyed! Thank you.

Actually I was just wondering where Hil was headed next. Seems the voice isn't quite done with this one! Thanks!

It's also a damn sight easier than keeping tract of the lies you tell.

The Devil’s Deal Brian shook his head, trying to clear the cobwebs. Whoever was at the door would just have to wait a minute. The pounding and ringing continued for a bit before it really sank into Brian’s head he wasn’t dreaming and someone WAS trying to pound his door down with his fist. “Keep your britches on! I’m coming!” he muttered as he untangled himself from the throw blanket and rose from the sofa. “Must have dozed off reading again,
