Haters And Bigots = Changes To My About Me Section
Kitt commented on Caz Pedroso's blog entry in Caz Pedroso's Blog
I guess I am just not understanding the issue. Your stories are all about love and commitment, permanent bonding, being there for one another, and helping others. What's his beef? That your main characters happen to not be human? That guys fall in love with guys? Last time I looked homosexuality was not a choice, it is the way God made some while making others hetero. Ask the old fool if he thinks God made a mistake? You do whats right for you and your family. And while I understand that your daughter might prefer to stay with her friends, do you really want her being preached to by someone that narrow minded? -
One has to wonder, if the boyfriends other half hadn't come home with something, would hubby have ever fessed up? Teddy bears may be cuddly, but they are still bears, don't go pissing them off!

Start by walking! Pick interesting places with pretty things to look at. Rainy day? Hit the mall and look into every shop on each side of every isle. We have walking trails in every park and along an old barge canal here. The beaches have boardwalks and paved walks. and starting about this time of the year eye candy too. Several old rail beds here have also been converted to walking paths. I can walk every day for more than a month and not do the same trail twice. Sometimes I need to drive to the walk, but that's worth it for the variety.

Juicy, and giving him up to 300 yrs of history to play with all over again. I can easily see Wade's family being some of the first Virginia residents. Oh - and just because Mark HASN'T jumped 10 years at a clip so far does not mean he cannot or will not. That was a number to use for an example, however. Not a suggestion Mark!

Call me strange, but I don't see it as odd for a dude of any age to want to see his father once a week or so. And this isn't just one generation we are speaking of here. For all intents and purposes JP is Brad's father and one would think Brad would want to see him regularly as well. But then, maybe I am the odd one. I enjoyed spending time with my parents and we socialized regularly as adults.

There are times and places in every country where some subjects cannot be discussed openly. There is so much wrong with that it is unreal, but it is a fact of life. So we start in places like GA and hopefully the understanding can grow and spread.

There is a simpler explanation for the slow down of time passage. Mark is now into the early new millennium. He has approximately 12 years of history left to work with. If he jumps ten years into the future with the next book he will shortly run out of historic happenings to reference in his work. Would any of you want to sit around waiting for something momentous to happen for Mark to use in a subsequent story?

Is Sexually Explicit Needed In Gay Stories?
Kitt replied to alex canton's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
All the responses you have gotten so far seem to be from an authors point of view. I thought perhaps you would like one readers pov. For me, while I do enjoy most sex scenes in a story, it is not the reason I am reading. IF it fits it should be included, if it is just tossed in to draw the reader looking for erotic content it should not be. A well written story with interesting subject matter should not need sex to sell it. The bottom line, and something I tell authors I work with regularly, is that it is YOUR story. It should be told to YOUR satisfaction. If you are not pleased with the finished product, how can you expect any one else to be? -
Enjoy a day full of Love and Happiness! You give your readers much enjoyment and you deserve the same in return!

What's Next For Cole Matthews!

What Carlos said! As I understand it, the sight's main purpose is to promote both gay fiction and gay authors. When I joined I was told (jokingly of course but it was true) that being straight would not be held against me. Maybe you will need to publish a disclaimer once in a while (Warning: Scene contains straight sex)but that would cover it. -
An interesting start. One wonders why his attackers happened to be in the right place at the right time.

The unfortunate truth is that most classrooms, even in the more affluent middle classes, are woefully underfunded. I have seen the lower middle class families who can barely put food on the table be more supportive of increases in school budgets than the people who could easily afford a few extra bucks on the school taxes. They understand that an improvement in education will lift their children to the next levels. Piper is right in that teachers should not have to spend their own funds, but thank God so many do! They make the difference for hundreds of children every year. Money is not the only obstacle to a good education anymore however. The dramatic increase in testing at all levels pulls away from classroom time, and in some cases shows nothing more than that students have been taught how to take a test. While it is important to assess how a school is performing, can't we find a better way than to pull so much time away from teaching the core curriculum to prepare the children for the latest round of testing? But we digress. Tet is 100% correct, teachers do so much for our children. Support them, and not one day or one week a year! If you have a little extra cash on shopping day, buy an extra box of tissues, or pencils, a box of crayons, anything that might be appreciated in a classroom, and send them in. Believe me, every teacher I know will appreciate it! I would say if you can read this, hug a teacher, but that too has become a problem. We ( teachers, aids, administrators, and volunteers alike) cannot show any affection of any sort to students for fear of it being misinterpreted. And that is a shame really because sometimes a simple hug makes all the difference.

That is exactly what came to my mind at Carlos' comment!

Don't be. You expressed yourself eloquently and I for one understood exactly where you are coming from! I agree Isaac! And if someone does happen to draw away, perhaps that person needs to grow a bit themselves. People who truly care would never turn away!- 1,697 replies
