    You know darned well that a nice calm chapter like the morning donuts and ice cream doesn't wind us up very much! Even the little altercation at the ice cream place was more like a stupid kid comment than something to fire up the forum. Now, what ever hot water Rob has gotten himself into at the mall sounds intriguing! Feed the birds mister - FEED THE BIRDS!

    Now now, don't go blaming a slow down on us! We need things to post about. It is not our fault you have been so busy editing for Gary that you haven't had the inclination to write your own stuff. Patrick is gathering dust, the twins are bouncing around Denmark together, and Rob sounds like he is between a rock and a hard place. You need to start writing again mister!

    Benchmarks are ok for figuring out which shelf to put any given book on. Don't artificially limit yourself. A story needs as many words as it needs to tell it.

    Ok - under normal circumstances I would not participate in this convo because I know more than you guys do - but since my comment concerns something that happened several chapters ago, I get to play just a little bit too! While Damian may be in the conspiracy up to his eyeballs, he could not have tipped the killer off to Grady's investigation into Sam's death. Damian was already among the missing the day Grady turned up asking questions, had not shown for his am shift. That is why Nikki gave him Damian's card and got one of Grady's. Cole needed some way to lead the cops back to the Humble Braggart and the bosses card in his pocket was it. Altho he said his dying sister was in Denver, you can't take it as gospel. If Doug is the murderer, a quick change of venue would be a good idea, and I seriously doubt a man that is behind at least 3 and possibly 4 murders would draw the line at telling a lie!

    Running a search for Literary Festivals, I got results back of 41,600,000 results hits. Surely at least SOME of those must feature LGBTQ based literature, and may even showcase gay writers. Perhaps I am speaking out of turn here, but I thought the overall goal was to make the world more inclusive. Looking to attend and or create "gay literature" events seems to me to be headed towards more exclusivity. Wouldn't the time be better spent getting people to understand it isn't "gay literature" as opposed to "straight literature" but it is all simply "LITERATURE"?

    No, but it is the same grouping of muscles, not very distant, and while a tad bigger no where near the size of a 7 to 9 pound baby. Think a watermelon through an opening the size of a lemon.

    I have become the "Other Mother" to many of my daughter's friends, and even a couple people here. More power to you James, may you help many more "younglings" with your sound advice! Perhaps Irri is right - there are many mentoring programs out there and the foster system is always looking for good homes.

    If I am recalling properly ( not a given since it has been so long since I followed high school sports) Thanksgiving is usually the tail end of the regular season, regional playoffs happened between then and Christmas, so we have a pretty good chance of seeing the division championship game, possibly regional and state championships, and what ever happens to state champs after the game. None of our teams ever made it as far as states, so what happens then is a little fuzzy for me. Since De La Salle has a several season undefeated streak, they must have several state championships under their belt, unless Mark was referring to regular season games only. Do schools count post season tournament play in their "undefeated" streaks?

    As one of Cole's editors I have read and re-read the story several times, and even being a bit ahead of you, I still get the feeling I am missing something fairly important!

    From Tim's review: "Clothes shopping should probably wait until Hel has gained some weight." The problem with that is he showed up with the clothes on his back and they are no longer wearable. Come to think on it - Ishca is not in too much better shape in the wardrobe department!

    I'll have to go back and look at that convo. Maybe it registered under the surface or something! But even if you hadn't set it up in advance - it would not have been a stretch to believe the step-ass had insisted on classes of some sort. Some military men can be pretty cool - like Papa Brett, but others are very set in their ideas about what a son can and should do and say.
