Thank you to everyone that submitted a prompt reply to Comicfan's final prompts before we lost him I think we had 5 submissions and each one of them are amazing. I imagine if Wayne had any relatives that were aware of his large participation on site, they would be happy to see that people submitted. I know I'm proud of everyone ❤️ So as mentioned, we wanted to hear your favourite prompts from the past, and we would re-feature them and see if you want to continue on if you already sent in one, or let others try to take a stab at them. First was a Prompt suggested from @Aditus for #213. For continuity sake, let us add #212 as well So here is a flashback to Feb 22, 2013: Prompt 212 – Creative Tag – List of Words Use the following words in a story – sword, tuna fish, compass, flip flops, and a star. Prompt 213 – Creative Tag – First Line “You want me to do what?”

Hello Everyone We missed a weekly update last week as we felt it was best to honour Wayne through the weekend. We also had a really, Really, REALLY Big Announcement this week Monday things got back to normal with Cia presenting our Classic Author of the month (psst, you didn't hear it here but Monday is @shadowgod's birthday. He is affectionately known as Steve1): That meant on Wednesday, Cia was back with the Classic Author Excerpt: Thursday was that big announcement! I hope you all drop by and say a congratulations to our newest Signature Author: Friday, we decided to do something a little different, we weren't ready to see Wayne's Prompts go quite yet. We decided to feature the previous weeks prompts once again, and invite everyone to tackle one or the other. Also we wanted to hear from you, what one of his prompts did you enjoy the most and motivated you to write? You can post it in this blog, or write to @Renee Stevens or @wildone to remain anonymous. With your suggestions, we will feature those prompts for a while. To be fair, we stopped doing the word of the day the previous week and missed the wrap up too, so here is a bit longer list of words that might tickle your fancy : Nosocomial, Unfettered, Panache, Hobson's Choice, Orphic, Squib, Issuable, Empyreal, Fortuitous, Visage Now what about the goals? Well we decided rather than just focus on the week, let us look at the month and see how we are doing! author promotion GA's Newest Signature Author: Mrsgnomie
wildone commented on Graeme's blog entry in Gay Authors Archive
Congratulations Mrsgnomie How do you look wearing brown I can't tell if that is brown or not Enjoy your acknowledgment recognizing your hard work!!! -
We're not ready to let go of Comicfan as our resident prompt genius, so we are featuring his last prompts again, Prompt 892 and 893. If you would like, you can take a stab at either one for a lasting memorial to Wayne. Anyone that wants to, please post a prompt in honour of Wayne. I've created topics for each one of them, 892 and 893. Let us know in the below comments which one you did . Prompt 892 - Creative Tag - List of Words Use the following words in a story - a storm, a broken fence, a scared dog, a flash light, and an old typewriter. Prompt 893 - Creative Tag - Viral Video Most people who make it big on Tik Tok or YouTube work hard to become viral. Unfortunately your video went viral for all the wrong reasons with two and a half million views. What is your video about? Do you have a favourite prompt he shared? Let us know so we can feature it again!

Going West (in search of the bareback riders)
wildone commented on Dodger's blog entry in Dodger the Blogger
Well enjoy the flight over the mountains, Dodger!! If the smoke isn't too bad, you can get some really great scenery from above! Last I heard the coast is not being affected by all the smoke from the fires. When you land in Vancouver (or maybe Victoria ), it sounds like you won't have much of a layover. Too bad, as it is a beautiful city (cities) right on the coast and so much to see and do. All surrounded by mountains too. It sounds like your sister is way way way out there. Lots of Calgarians take the flight over the mountains, then a float plane to the many fishing camps hidden all up and down the coast. You missed Stampede by a day or two If you, @Valkyrie or @Headstall ever come out to Stampede, we will need to meet and take in some of what is all going on. I might even buy some assless chaps. Why do they call them assless? All chaps are assless . Okay maybe not that far . Say hi to your sister, I hope this is the one that was represented by Nicola. If she is one tiny bit like Nicola in real life, than she is an amazing woman I say take it easy, you sound like you know the best ways to protect yourself and be careful in what you . Take a few pictures and share with us what I'm sure will be amazing scenery all around you!! Bon Voyage! -
It is nice to keep up with Luke and Jackson 😁

It has been years since I last read this story. I still have the same reaction now as I did then, when in the conversation James wants too tell Bryson he had forgotten something, I knew it was bad. Like @Yettie One the mention of the suicidal wildlife by his mom, just made it clearer. To get your answers @Timothy M., shall we get @shadowgodback? 😛

This, is so horrible. I am shocked. I know that he was struggling with losing his dad and having a lack of direction where to go. I also know that he has had his own health issues. But that doesn't help with the fact that 5 days ago I was thanking him for the latest prompts. Wayne has always in my mind been a gentle person, looking out for everyone. Back when we had chat, he was a calming influence and was a chat moderator. To read his last blog now I am crying. He shares with everyone of the current struggles. I imagine if there was dying of a broken heart, Wayne must have been one of the unfortunate ones. My god, this is not good news at all 😢 Renee, thank you for writing up the tribute, it is beautiful and 100% accurate. At this time, I'm not sure I could have done this myself

Well it is 1:15 AM in my neck of the woods. Why you ask, am I up so late? Well yesterday was the kick off of the Calgary Stampede This really the first big event to be held in Canada. Yesterday numbers were small, but today seemed like normal Saturday. I volunteer at the grounds so I felt good enough to try and do it again this year. If it helps the charities that have basically been shut down the past 16 months, than it is the least I can do Now, who cares about the Stampede? I do!!! But you are not here to read about it, you are waiting for a wrap up that you can see what you read, what you missed and what may have interested you. So let's give it a go! Monday Cia strolled in after her 5 mile jog and gave us the July CSR featured story. Make sure you check it out as well as the discussion day later in the month: On Wednesday, I'm not sure how he does it as he is always working the nightshift, but Aaron still found time to give us another great Ask An Author: Friday, our prompt guru extraordinaire, Wayne, came up with another two great and original prompts. Shout out to comicfan for coming through week after week: Also on Friday, we noticed that there is gremlins in our servers Who gave them water and who fed them after midnight? It is your fault Turns out that our July newsletter didn't make it out to all, so Myr posted a blog with it: Myr was by each day with a new Word of the Day. I thought I had the first one and was excited as you wear dungarees to Stampede, but alas, it was not to be Dundrearies, Amative, Gloss, Watershed, Yegg, Prevaricate, and Fanfaronade Goals, did I miss the goals last week? Howdy Ho! So this week has been very unusual for me All week we here in western Canada have been hit by what the Western US has had as well. We've been in a heat dome Normally our average temp is 22 C (71.6F) and all week we were above the mid 30's (95F) I was melting!!! Things could have been worse, one small village in British Columbia broke Canadian records by reaching 49.6 C (121.28). Then a nearby fire happened and now over 80% of the entire town is gone Downtown, houses, mostly everything all gone . Anywho, last night we here had thunderstorms, a bit of hail here, and now today is back in the mid 20's. So what about you, I know we are having lots of whacky weather, what happened in the past week in your neck of the woods? We had a bit slower week this week here at the GA Blog. So shall we look back and see the goings on here? Monday was a day that we look forward to, as in the CSR Discussion Day. Did you get to read @Marty's story and join in the discussion? Friday, our prompt guru Wayne was here and bought two new prompts for you to try: On Saturday, Comsie dropped by with another great article to help out new and old authors (not necessarily age )? This week you might find it all a bit unbelievable 😮 Myr was his dedicated self by bringing us a new word every day over the past week. I'll admit, I didn't know any of these . Ergogenic - Word of the Day - Wed Jun 23, 2021

I decided the Covid19 wasn't enough, so I did the Covid30, as in losing 30 lbs. I think I'm in more ergogenic shape now than 3 months ago, only due to that -
What a great story! To have Craig realize that maybe he can find love again, I found more endearing then the idea of taking the big leap of change that James did. I just hope Craig realizes that the only way not to end like his previous relationship would be the need to change himself. Not an easy thing to do. I was intrigued at the beginning as I spent ten years working in Lethbridge. But mine is a city of about 80,000 in southern Alberta, Canada. I didn’t realize there was another 😛 I guess I won’t keep an eye out for Craig and James if I go back for a visit Well done and thank you for sharing

Saw @Talo Segura’s review of this story and decided to give it a try. I think I will be finishing this one. I curious if Bobby had anything to do with the four goons. It is quite possible that they were acting on there own. But do wonder what the coach will have to say about losing 3 or 4, albeit second string, players at the start of the season.

I'm on holidays this week It's pouring rain outside I guess I can tolerate it as long as it ends on Sunday, I am going camping to the mountains during the week. Nothing like enjoying a hot day by a mountain lake and jump into it to cool down. Are you crazy That water is COLD!!! My boys will be hidden upside of me for at least a week! Well I hope you have a great week as well. We had a bit quieter week here at the GA Blog. Shall we take a look back just in case you missed anything? Hurrah for Monday. It meant that our super dooper Review Team, channeling through @Talo Segura, came through with another Featured Story to either start on right away, or put on your reading list: Thursday completed our broadcasting week with 8 NEW ANTHOLOGY ENTRIES!!! Who are you at 51? You are a compassionate, loving, caring person who did what was best for his father and family when you were needed most. All the years you were growing up with them looking after you, I'm sure both of them know that you did your job as for a son for when they needed you most. You are a person who will tolerate fools. That is a quality that I seriously lack and envious of you. Don't let your brother wear you down, just go at a pace that you are comfortable, execute the will as your father's wishes, and realize that some people just are like that, especially if there is money involved Who will you be? I imagine a guy that has all these good qualities and more and can focus a bit more on himself and take those qualities into the future wherever you choose to go, or fate takes you

Very intriguing situation and story that evolves around it. Krista does an amazing job of making you feel like you are in the chapter by her descriptive scenes. You can feel, hear, taste and smell the environment that Jace is in . Well worth the read!

I too really liked the descriptions of the different scenes, especially around the crick. It was like I was in one of the many forests of past years falling a creek to basically no where. I did have two alternatives, one was for Ty to take him in, and the other was to let him go and then as @headtransplant mentioned, maybe Ty and Jace will hook meet up in the future too. So liking both alternatives, I guess I need to let my imagination go wild I know Krista will say which version my mind will be most focused on . Thanks for sharing Krista

Thank you very much for this story, Aditus In a way this story appealed to me, but for a different reason. I am the total opposite of a planner. Although Zane talked himself into going, my crystal ball showing me everything that could go wrong more, usually has me chickening out. So I liked this story as it sort of instills a feeling of hope I’ll be honest, I’ve never walked into a gay bar alone. Maybe this will put a good thought in my head 🙂 Thanks again.

Wow, what a chapter and a roller coaster ride of emotions, for the characters and I’m sure us readers. I got to get one thing off my chest. When Don referred to Nathan as the F word, it totally changed my mood. I was enjoying the drama, the humour, the angst, everything. Then when Don used that word that I think to me, I find the absolute most offensive word to gay people, I wanted to reach threw my iPad and literally choke the life out of Don. What a fucking ass. I wonder if he uses that language around Sue, and if she would even tolerate it. To tell the truth, I’m going to come back later with some more comments when I’m not so mad. A testament to your great skill to make your characters as if they are the family next door IRL, Dodger. Thank you for sharing and the hockey reference. See, now I’m feeling a bit better. I’ll be back.
