So put up your hand if you have had a cold this year To tell the truth, I don't get them that often, but this year wearing a mask and avoiding other people as much as I have, I never thought anything unusual about it. Then Thursday came . I woke up on Thursday AM and had a headache and stuffy nose. The headache seemed to be right in my sinuses. Not having any other symptoms other than the occasional cough, I didn't feel I was on the road to COVID. Thank god!! Well two days later, after lots of water, some cold meds to dry the sinuses and no cough syrup, I slept most of today I actually feel pretty good So was it stress and exhaustion from work? Who knows. Just hope if you have/had a cold, that it is a quick recovery. Don't want to be second guessing every ailment this year. Now to this weeks wrap up! Monday, Cia fox trotted into the GA Blog and brought us all the January CSR Discussion Day: Wednesday, with a rose in her teeth doing a tango, Renee brought us the Author Guess Who Reveal. Did you guess right? Not to be forgotten from the previous day, Renee was back on Thursday with a tap dance flourish and brought us a new Anthology Entry Revisited: Friday we saw Wayne waltz in with a couple more interesting Prompts: Doing the floss (much better than Backpack Boy), Comicality had another great Article to take in: Myr finished off the dance week and was doing the macarena every day this week, with a new Word Of The Day (hey, I could have gone with the chicken dance ) Domicile, Talisman, Trivial, Futurity, Elephantiasis, Protean and Banausic. Time to check in on what we did as far as the Story Goals went. And you all should be doing the YMCA with these achievements: Anthologies 2021 Anthology #1 Top Theme 1 - On The Road - Due by April 1st, 2021 2021 Anthology #1 Top Theme 2- Forbidden - Due by April 1st, 2021 2021 Anthology #1 Pot Luck Themes - Due by April 1st, 2021 Anthology 101 - In the Anthology Forum. I'm so sorry to hear about your struggles and continued effects of this very nasty virus that has crippled the world I do find it interesting that the ones denying it are so entrenched in their beliefs that it is a hoax, they are so steadfast in that idea, they are the complete 180 opposite of the people who do trust science and the actual testimonials of those that have had it. Unfortunately with this damn thing, everyday there is more testimonials that will never be heard . Last week, a gentleman I've never met, but worked closely with for over 10 years, has been working from home, doesn't go out, his wife does all the shopping and such. Six years ago he had open heart surgery and wanted to ensure he would survive this. On a Thursday he got a package from Amazon, opened it and within 8 hours started having symptoms, admitted to the hospital the next day, died 5 days later Currently in Ontario there is a postal sorting area that handles a lot of packages and going through an outbreak of what they believe is the UK variant. The package went through here, and a lot of the staff are testing positive. Now lets put that in perspective. So the parcel delivery person must have had COVID. He must of sneezed on the package just before dropping it off. Gary much have grabbed the package to bring in. He must have touched his face before washing his hands. So even though the chances are what, 1 in a 100,000,000 of this happening, it just goes to prove this is no fucking hoax. BTW, the doctors and health unit were so concerned with how quickly he died, the did a more in depth contract tracing and trying to find out where he got it from. Now, I know the non believers will say, "Yeah, right, you've got to be stupid to believe that happened". My response? Well I've really given up on trying to give any response. Not worth the wasted breath on them. They believe what they believe. Just glad that up in Canada, our anti-maskers have rally's that I have seen on the news and such are generally under 500 people. Still, 500 going out and then risking the lives of the people around them, but not the 1000's upon 1000's of people that you see south of the border. Too bad we can't draw an invisible line and everyone that believes it is a hoax, can go to this side of the line and those who believe the science and the facts are on the other side of the line. And the two sides shall never meet [/rant] KC, I really hope that things get way better rather than even a little bit worse. Once the vaccine and most the world is hopefully over this, the even a portion of the money put towards fighting and researching and everything else, is put into finding ways to fix the health aftermaths of this damn disease. (BTW, I am in an immunocompromised group, so this is a reality to me, every day)

First and foremost, let me apologize ahead of time. This blog has been completely done on my iPhone 😁. It appears my computer won’t start anymore 😢. But shall we see how this goes? If any staff see any blaring errors, feel free to jump in and edit 😏. Or everyone can point them out and laugh at me On Monday Cia was here to bring us the January Classic Author: If that wasn’t enough to entice you, how about checking out the January Classic Author Excerpt: Then on Thursday, Renee reminded us of the upcoming Anthologies and gave us a great look back at one of our many excellent past Anthology entry. Just remember, these are all from people like you who put up their hand and participated. On Friday our resident prompt guru, comicfan, was in with a couple of new prompts: Then on Saturday, Comicality wrapped up the GA Blog for the week with yet another informative article: We cannot recognize Myr’s efforts in bring us the Word Of The Day: Juggernaut, Bulletin, Bulletin, Bulletin My desktop was suddenly prompting me to try something different so for giggles I started it in Smart Mode. Well when you do that, it needs your full Microsoft Password, not just the PIN, and mine is about 26 random keystrokes long . So after a few tries, went back to my phone to my Microsoft account and put it to something that I could remember, and not is not 1234 or S1t2e3v4e5 So still couldn't get in, so hit the power button and then again and it loaded the login screen again, but not in Safe Mode. So typed in my new password... Wrong Password !!! But, when it reset, it was back to asking my PIN, which was the way it was way back when . So I'm in . And changed my Microsoft Password again. Now back to the rest of Myr's Words Of The Day Containerize, Limpid, Chthonic, Lucid, Sentient, and Qua Shall we take a quick look at our Story Goals for last week? I do believe this is resolved. @Cia and @Myrworked on it and found a fix

Thanks Astone With the @ symbol with the Member Name to take someone to that member profile, I noticed it right away too. I started a topic in the Help Forum. Cia did some looking and I’m sure Myr will as well tomorrow. Then if needed they may include our programmer. You do bring up a good point so I decided to give a bit more lengthy answer. If anyone notices something that might be a software bug, please click on the quoted link above, read the instructions and let us know

What does everything think of the new upgrade to GA? Myr and I were joking that the new font size was easier for us as we grow older Pretty soon, you might see this font which will be beneficial for both of us Good Day Everyone! Now don't worry, I'm sure we will have virtual screens by the day that we need this, no monitors or physical screens any more. Hey, that might be a story idea thinking how technology could improve older peoples lives. Now that I think of my dad trying to use the remote control, maybe not such a good idea Shall we sashay down memory lane and see what happened in the past week here at the GA Blog? For one Monday of the month, we give Cia a day off Consider it her long weekend. Although I think in her life, there is no such thing as a long weekend Instead, we had Renee publish in conjunction with our Super Dooper Review Team a summary of all the 2020 Reviews: Also on Tuesday, we put out a calling to anyone who might want to be a short term or long term member of the Super Dooper Review Team Even if it is one review that you do up in 15-20 mins when finishing a great story you read, or one from your favourite story EVER here at GA, why not do one up? Then on Wednesday, guess who was here again Renee brought us the first Author Guess Who of 2021. There is two guesses so far, but I'm not sure if either one is correct. Who do you think it is? On Friday, we had Wayne drop by with two more prompts for all of you to consider: Then on Saturday, with kind of a ominous sounding title, Comicality was back with a second new great article: Oh, don't forget to check out the Word of the Day that Myr posts in the Writing Tips Blog each and every day! There is so many things going on in the Writing Tips Blog, and I want to increase all of our vocabulary , so if you don't know any of the below words, just click on it . Chiliad, Totem, Cockaigne, Dram, Gridiron, Finicky, and Zest. Here is how we ended up the week on our story goals last week: Anthologies 2021 Anthology #1 Top Theme 1 - On The Road - Due by April 1st, 2021 2021 Anthology #1 Top Theme 2- Forbidden - Due by April 1st, 2021 2021 Anthology #1 Pot Luck Themes - Due by April 1st, 2021 Anthology 101 - In the Anthology Forum. I'm thinking of many synonyms of finicky for humans

I'm really, really, really not liking Matt's Dad. So we know that Matt's mom is a alcoholic and seeing the way that his dad treats him and his wife, it is sad that she has had to retreat into a bottle of wine to keep him away. The internal thought of her about how he could lie to his own son, made me wonder if he is a cheater too? She obviously knew he wasn't going done to the campaign office. I'm intrigued now on Jacob's past which hasn't really come out, just something that the school board felt he needed therapy but his HS coach was a firm supporter of him. Surely being gay wouldn't be enough to ban him from the main school would be just I'm sure the football question that Matt has may also answer it. I hope he doesn't give it up. Kudo's to Matt to not outwardly react to Jacob's comment about a guy not being not bad looking and trying to discretely trying to cover up his boner was funny. But he handled it good in my mind. Now the question is, is Matt gay? Is he a closet case due to his dad, and his home environment? Or has he never had these feelings before where he was attracted to another guy? I may be jumping ahead of myself and Matt is just a horny 16/17 y/o getting much needed attention from a new friend, that happens to be a boy.
-
Okay, so the innuendo and all aside, I am assured this story will be about Matt and Jacob. Wonder what Matt was thinking about when his dad walked in on him pleasuring himself. But there is one thing I don’t like about Jacob already... who doesn’t like pineapple on their pizza 😳
-
Interesting first chapter. I can’t definitely say what happened at the end between Matt and Val, or Matt and Jacob. Will be interesting Day Two in Oak Meadows.

Well, she is a lady, or claims to be, so I didn't want everyone know what has happened in he past

I wouldn't stand behind here either. She has had to rebuild her army twice

Yes. Just leaving my calling card too!

Please be forewarned!!! I'm on a staycation and I already did a deep clean on my condo today. So now I'm bored and have nothing to do as there is no traveling and such in my area of the world. So expect to see me creating havoc all over GA I may be lurking around every corner, ready to pounce on the unsuspected people of GA. I will leave my calling card wherever I have been . Be scared, be very scared Now if you believe me, I also have ocean front property in Arizona. Bought it unseen from @C James So once the pandemic is over, those of you that believe in me can come down for a visit . Another very busy week at the GA Blog this week, so enough of my rambling and onto the wrap up! We are basically at the beginning of the month, so we had Cia pop in and give us a new CSR Feature. Make sure you check it out! On Wednesday, Renee launched an all new version of Ask An Author, version 3.0. Now here is the thing, she needs all of you to pick a story you really like, and submit that story plus 3 questions that you would like the Author to answer. Your name will remain anonymous to everyone but the one in charge of Ask An Author, but I've made them swear to only tell me. Then, were you happy to see Wayne back on Friday? I was!! So here is his first entry of Prompt Friday by @comicfan in a while: Finally, something else new started Comicality has started submitting all new Writing Tips and Saturday was the first of many to come: Now that we are over the New Year's hump, I will go back to showing the story goals weekly. We will save posting the yearly goals towards the end or the year. But if you want to check them yourself, you can just go to here. I said my New Year wishes on Friday, so in case you missed them, Happy Hopeful New Year I thought I would start the blog off a bit different as it was the last week of the year. How did we do on our Story Goals for the year? Well, I'm happy to say that I'm proud of everyone that contributed to the site over the past year from Authors, Poets, Readers, Editors, and everyone else that has a membership at GA I was also thinking, just imagine our numbers if we had the 1000's of guest that pop in daily to join up and read, write, review on the site? So here is what we ended up doing the year ending 12/31/2020: Well last week, I asked to see what we could do to get towards meeting those goals, and you all deliverered: Now what else happened in our year ending week at the GA News Blog! Monday Cia was in to share the CSR Discussion Day for 3 different stories Then on Wednesday, we had the Author Guess Who Reveal: Friday we were back to the Prompt Fridays. And pay attention to next week, as we have a bit of a surprise for you all Also on Friday, Cia announced a couple of new contests for the first day of 2021: Finally, on Saturday, we had a re-feature of a Comicality Writing Tip: Now usually I would usually post the Words of the Day. This is under the Writing Tips Blog, but now we seem to have a lot lot lot more in that GA Blog There is Word of the Day, Prompts, Writing Tips, and Fun and Games. So not to overwhelm us all, just click on the Blogs tab in at the top of the page and you will see all the blogs posted in the past week. Prompts Suggest a prompt(s) - Recommend a few prompts to be featured on Prompt Friday! PM @Renee Stevens and/or @wildone with your ideas.
