    Weekly Wrap Up
3 days to spring 🌻 🐦I found out it is the 19th this year instead of the normal 20th due to being a leap year. Makes sense.
So what are you planning for the Spring Solstice or if you want to be correct, the Spring Equinox?
I was thinking of going outside striping down to some shorts, last year when I said naked, some of you didn't like the idea of that , and frolicking in the fields. Wait, although tomorrow will be a record breaking 18 C (64.4 F), by Monday we go back down to under -10C (14F) and snow  No frolicking for me on the 19th.
Now here is another question since I was talking about the 19th and 20th. As of today you have exactly 15 days to get your Poetry Anthology in to Val. Make sure to click on the link if you need a reminder how.
In other news, I was thinking of revitalizing the once interesting NHL© Hockey Pool. I know my Flames most likely wont be in it, but it still can be fun. So by a show of hands ✋ not fingers 🖕  , who would like to participate. Always nice to have about 10 people. No cost, and if we have enough peoples, I will add a small prize.
But, enough of me babbling on, maybe I'm filling space as it was a slower week here at the blog . Well at I guess we only missed Wednesday this week
Monday, your Review Team presented through @chris191070. Check it out!
Like a geyser that erupts the same time everyday, Myr erupted on Tuesday with a new Deep Dive. I'm no longer allowed to call the big buy by the geyser's name.
Thursday we started another round of the popular tv game show the popular blog quiz, Author Guess Who:
Friday means one thing around here. It Was Prompt Friday brought to us by @Aditus:
Did you want to read an intriguing blog this week? Well check out Comicality's weekly writing article:

Have you ever felt you loss someone and it is the worse thing in the world? Check out this great review by @chris191070 by our Classic Author @Ronyx and see if that maybe, this might be worse.

We have a wonderful story about identical twins Kevin and Devin, but they are different in that one is gay and the other straight.
They shared a brotherly bond, but the bond was broken, when Kevin found himself a boyfriend, and this drove them apart.
What follows is a physiological study of how they are the same but different.
Kevin has his own problems, his mother can't accept having a gay son, Devin doesn't like having a gay brother. Many important issues are covered in this story. Bullying, homophobia and we even deal with teen pregnancy.
But ultimately we have the love of family and brotherly love conquering all.

    Weekly Wrap Up
I had this big long speech from upon my soapbox and Valkyrie so rudely pulled it out from under me and now I have road rash on my ass. Oh, what a great segue to the Poetry Anthology .  Get it? Rash...Ass. Well, maybe they don't totally rhyme  Also I don't want to belittle the great poets out there either.
Now I do look forward to the many experienced to blossoming poets, even if you don't see yourself as one yet, getting an entry in! Down below on the Thursday blog, Val actually gets down to business and talks all about the Anthology.
So what happened this past week? Got some good news, got some bad news and I think the rest of the week fell in between that .
Oh, before  I forget, if you wake up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday and can't start your day until you have read the GA Weekly Wrap Up, and you live in most places in North America, look at your clock. Now look at your clock on your phone. If one is an hour behind the other, you are LATE!! Hoping no one is late though with the change to daylight savings time .
So that might be the question of the week! Did you spring forward last night? I did .

Monday Cia introduced us to a new CSR feature for the month of March. If you are looking for something new, check this out:
Then on Tuesday, Myr did a good look at the Paranormal:
Wednesday, once a month, a family and fan favourite, Aaron brought us the Ask An Author 3.0:
Thursday, Valkyrie did a shout out to everyone to put on your poet hats and get a poem in for out Poetry Anthology:
On Friday, Cole challenged us to try our hands at sarcasm. I do find it tricky to put down in words. Sometimes it comes across like if it is being given by Sheldon Cooper, the King of Sarcasm. So prove me wrong
Finally on Saturday, the reason we are all here at this place called GA, Comicality gave another great article:

I learned a new word on Saturday that stood out to me that I could now use as a description of someone  How about you? Here are all the Words of The Day:
lodestone, benighted, aster, augury, calumniate, pergola, odoriferous

    Weekly Wrap Up
So what is that saying? February Showers brings March dumps of snow?
After a tropical February around here, it stated snowing on Thursday night, and it snowed, and snowed and it snowed I'm sure we are over a foot but you know what, a foot here is multiple feet in the mountains to the West. Without this bump up in the low snowfall in the Rockies, we would and may still be in a drought for the summer. So if any of you are going to tell me about your bulbs starting to shoot up, maybe planning the garden, your perennials are coming up, I HATE YOU Well, hate is a strong word, maybe detest? Despise?
Now onto another pressing issue. It is years like this that it isn't good to be on a salary. If you can get one . I mean, employers get an extra day of work out of you on Feb 29th without paying their employees for the extra day of work! If you are paid hourly, you should be paid for the extra day. I think next leap year we should rise up and point out this injustice!!! Yet I have a feeling in 4 years I won't remember what I did the year before, let alone 4 years before .
Before we get going this week, I want to tip my hat to the big guy, @Myr, and our new programmer who have worked their a$$es off to get this Server and Stories Archive Update done. I'll be honest, if you could see all the bugs that Myr worked with our programmer to get fixed, and some of those bugs were identified by you all, you would be gob smacked (or is it gobsmacked) at how much went into this. So sincerely, thanks Myr  Here is the announcement:
Now let's jump into our regular programming week, brought to you by Lucki Charms 🍀( trademarks ).
Monday, Cia got to present a really interesting interview with our CSR Author and Story of the month for February:
Tuesday, although he was busy as beaver, Myr still did a deep dive:
We took hump day off this past week. I won't ask you what you did on your hump day as this is a family blog  One author I know has a fixation with the UPS driver in his shorts on Wednesdays
Now did you check out the big announcement on the 2024 Anthology? You didn't? Well click on this to find out the winning theme for this year and also some very important information!
But............................................... let's not forget that you have less than a month to get in your poetry Anthology!!! Check this blog out for all the deets on it:
Thursday, Valkyrie showed her true colours, which is green btw. She revealed that the single most important day in the year for her is getting drunk on green beer, eating cabbage and corned beef. She also gave us two prompts to recognize the upcoming St Paddy's day:
Then on Saturday, Comicality wrapped up the week in a nice little bow with another Writing Article:

7 days in the week, 7 Words of the Day:
innuendo, terror, ecstasy, passion, fury, grief, malleable

    Weekly Wrap Up
    I'm giddy
Now it is up to you to figure out why I'm so giddy
So did you all notice that next week is a 1in every 4 years occurrence, a Leap Year? It seems to me like I don't notice as much, ever since the Winter Olympics were moved from the Leap Year's to two years later and the Summer Olympics stayed on the Leap Year. I guess for the non sports lovers out there, you're saying WTF  If you are a sports follower, I imagine you are more interested in the Summer Olympics than the Winter, so once again WTF
P.S. Also a PSA, rather than the 1st day of Spring being March 20th it will be March 19th this year  In case you or your fellow Druids were planning on going to Stonehenge, I don't want you a day late!! That would really suck.
You also know what? With an extra day that means you get a whole bonus day to get in your Poetry Anthology entry or entries! Since April 1st is the due date, why procrastinate any longer? Leave that to me where every week at a ridiculous hour I get started on the Weekly Wrap Up  Well, let's go with I want the most up to date news and chapters published  .
So before I turn into a pumpkin in a minute, let's get this show on the road.
Monday, Cia introduced us to a very popular author in the Signature Author Feature. Did you get into the blog?
Tuesday, Myr left us all kind of guessing what were the top stories in his Deep Dive:
Wednesday, we got the Signature Feature Author Excerpt to go with Monday's Announcement:
On Wednesday, colour me stupid, but I never thought the Author Guess Who Reveal would be who it was!
Friday, in a twist of something different, @Aditus brought up some items and called them out as items:
I didn't get a chance to read Comicality's Article this week, but I will take a look later. Maybe you should too! After all, it is all about you

What a mishmash of words this week for the Words of the Day.
mishmash, commodious, jitters, implode, ramekin, earsplitting, gazelle

    Weekly Wrap Up
Wow, that week went by in a whirl  Not that I was swept off my feet by Prince Charming, but just overall it was a quick week. I could of sworn a day or two ago that I was doing last weeks wrap up.
Instead of me babbling on, I want to call to attention our Annual Anthology Topic Poll.
This is a great concept that I think is turning out not only some great topics, but great engagement across the site! When you see a lot of votes you think oh well, what will mine count? In this case your vote is as important and carries as much weight as everyone else's. The more votes we get entered, and remember you get to choose your top 3, I'm hoping the more motivation for Authors to get involved in this Anthology will be the result! Then more will be also motivated to read it when it comes out somewhere around October/November. It is a win win situation for Authors and Readers!!
Now that I got your attention on that, I will do something unusual  and start off with the Thursday blog. It has all the information for the voting for the Anthology.
What the heck, lets toss out the usual routine  Not sure if this is Slytherin's cousin or not.

Did you get up this morning and log on and get a chance to read Comsies' Writing Article? It does discuss an interesting concept.
Are you curious what Myr brought up this week on his Deep Dive?
What about the super, duper, Review Team's Featured Story on Monday?
Now here is a question to see just how old your are . What do Ricardo Montalbán and Hervé Villechaize have in common? If you guess smooth Corinthian Leather, you're wrong . To get the answer, check out the prompt themes that Cole Matthews gave us this week:

Myr was busy every morning this week around 2 AM EDT getting the Words of the Day ready for us

    Weekly Wrap Up
It seems like when I have nothing better to say, my momma's saying comes out: If you don't have something nice to say, then don't say it at all.
Funny thing is, I don't have anything bad to say about anyone. This week
In an effort to bypass Valentines, but feel to bring up if you want, what are some of your mom's momisms? Or do you have a doozie or two of dadisms. One sage piece of advice that my dad imparted on me at a very young age was, don't pee into the wind. I wish I had paid more attention on more than one occasion . I don't have any kids, so I won't pass any on to them. Well, I think my godson is still in therapy for some I imparted on him .
Now before we kick off this week ahead on Monday, why don't we look at the week past.
Monday was an introduction to an all new CSR Feature. This one has piqued my interest. Check it out:
Tuesday we went spear fishing when Myr took us diving again. You should see what scary things he brought up to the surface:

Wednesday, Aaron was at it again. Check out the new Ask An Author 3.0 to get an insight on this author:
Thursday, he just wouldn't go away . Wait, does this fall under the don't say anything at all category . You know I love you bud  Aaron was back to perplex all of us with this months Author Guess Who:
Then yesterday, Comsie was in with a new article. Also, if you are one of his fans, maybe check out this topic: https://gayauthors.org/forums/topic/48898-where-is-comsie

    Weekly Wrap Up
1 done and only 11 to go! Maybe it was the time off, but did anyone else feel that January flew by? I know we say this more and more as we age  but for some reason I thought this one went really quickly.
Now that we are in February and I KNOW a lot of you don't do resolutions but also some do. If you did, are they still being followed?
Today I had breakfast with two friends that live together. One, who has been through multiple brain surgeries and major life events setting him back, for the past 3 or 4 years had turned to drinking. Walking out of rehab after the first day multiple attempts or shall we say forced attempts, lots of trips to the hospital, losing half his front teeth when falling down, etc. The other friend that lives with him drinks too, he says to deal with the other. Well he got out of the hospital on the 30th of December again after getting his stomach pumped  They both made a commitment to stop drinking, but this was the first time it was said by Adam. We are now 35 days in and he hasn't touched a drop. He is so surprised how much better he is feeling, isn't craving the booze, and has lost about 30lbs. and is starting to feel good about himself again. Although not a New Year's resolution, I am so proud of him and even though the other is mildly drinking again, Adam says it is even more motivation for him to not start like the other did. I am so proud of him and hope that he continues down this path. Sometimes depending on the circumstances, promises around the end of the year can come true! Much too early to say forever, but heck 35 days sober after 3-4 years drunk everyday and without AA or others involved is a great start! I wish I could make at least a commitment like that and keep it up on other things!
Enough about me and my friends, what have you changed in the past month and is or is not a resolution that is making you feel better about yourself?
Now onto the reason we are all here  Let's wrap the week up. A bit slow as we had a 5th week in the month this past one.
Monday we all took a day off
Tuesday, Myr went off with his scuba gear out onto Lake Ontario, cut a hole in the ice and went for a deep dive. He wore a dry suit, so it wasn't his annual polar bear plunge. This is what he found:
    We took Wednesday off
On Thursday, Val gave everyone an update on the ongoing selection of a theme for this years annual Anthology. There was also a link and a reminder of this years Poetry Anthology. Don't forget the due date!!!

Aditus popped in on Friday and provided two new fresh prompts to get your juices flowing. Wait! Your creative juices

To finish off the week in a jocular sense, Comicality gave us a new article:

Even if we were slow on the GA News Blog, we definitely were not on the Words of the Day:
indolent, horsefly, intransigent, parturition, metatarsus, paleontology, pediment

    Weekly Wrap Up
Well just don't get close. Got home early Tuesday morning and felt a really bad cold come on about 4 hours later. Then proceeded to sleep about 20 to 22 hours per day up until yesterday. Went through all the stages of a really bad cold. Yesterday decided to do a Covid test and either someone on the plane or in Hawaii was kind enough to share . Feeling pretty good though, now.
Many thanks and appreciations go out to Cia for covering me for the last 2 weeks  It is nice to have her to take over in a pinch to help a team member out Make sure you all pass your thanks too, it meant 2 weeks away from me
Good to see the site did not dissolve into a post apocalyptic state of affairs  To keep everything going as it should, let's look back on the the past week and see what all happened here at the GA News Blog.
Tuesday, Myr kicked the week off with a Deep Dive:
Thursday was the day that we look for 1 of 3 things. This week it was the Author Guess Who big reveal from Aaron:
Friday, it was all about the weather when Val brought us the Prompts of the week:
Wrapping up the last week full week of the first month of 2024, Comicality gave everyone some great writing advice. Something that I think we all may ask about when finishing off a story:

There was also included this week as a bonus offer with the blogs , a Word of The Day:
soiree, rutabaga, soapstone, tapestry, monger, lumbago, decompose

    Weekly Wrap Up
Well this is my first blog of the new year 🥳 I seriously hope that no one is still recovering from Sunday night and Monday morning
I will keep my question simple. Did you bother with a New Year's Resolution, what was it, and 7 days in are you achieving it?
Now lets jump into the past week. It was a full one!
Monday was a day that many of you were looking forward to. Valkyrie published the stories of 11 dedicated fans of Carlos Hazday in memoriam. Check them out if you have ever read Carlos's works:
Tuesday, Myr did another Deep Dive. This time it has pictures where I wonder if the pirates were deep diving to find their sunken treasure:
Wednesday was time for Aaron to put up the Author Guess Who reveal. Did you Guess Who?
Also on the Wednesday, Mry let us know about some important site changes coming:
Friday Cole Matthews did up a couple of new prompts for us. Did anyone else like the name of the blog?
You know who had the final say this week:

Here were the Words Of The Day that wrapped up last year and started off the new one:
terminate, commence (I'm starting to see a theme here ), persistence, quail, residue, palomino, pretzel

It is the time of the month for another spectacular review from our Review Team. This month @spike382 gave us the review.

    Aunt May's Magic
    by Mancunian
    Reviewer: spike382
    Status: Complete
    Word Count: 3,008

I was actually having quite a debate with myself about which story I would read for my last review of 2023. There were a couple of classic stories, that I wanted to draw new readers to, and a few newer stories that I thought would also be fun to take a look at  Yet my mind kept going back to a writer I had the opportunity to get to know a little better the past couple of months: Mancunian.  He's been a writer on GA for a few years now, and yet I don’t believe he’s ever had the opportunity to have one of his stories put forth by our Review Team.   So, let’s change that!
Mancunian actually writes all his stories in a shard literary universe, the man theme of these stories is “Lost Souls.”  That is, people from various walks of life who end up homeless, and in the world of The Boot, those lost souls converge in the named homeless shelter.  “Auntie May’s Magic” is a simple, short story, less than 3000 words actually, and yet it’s a great entry point to The Boot universe.
The story can really be boiled down to its description “A young man is down on his luck, then he meets Aunt May.”   That is correct, we do see a young man walk into a diner, and by the description, his luck ran out a long time ago.  What happened to him?  We never find out, but he’s someone truly in need of a helping hand.  The diner is run by the kind of/sort of mysterious Aunt May.  This diner is not a normal place, and the people inside aren’t the sort the young man expects to find at all.  When he finally meets Aunt May, it soon becomes apparent why.
I’ll leave it there, so as not to spoil too much of the story.  As I said it’s a quick read, but it’sdefinitelyworth the effort.  As one reader said in their personal  review , “Hard to imagine a short story of less than 3 thousand words could have such an impact.”  Yet it does leave such an impact and more importantly, it’s a great entry point into a  larger universe built by Mancunian.
I invite everyone to read this story right away.   From there, he is currently posting new chapters of his latest story set in The Boot, “What Happened to the Baxter Boys,” which is much longer than 3000 words, but totally worth a read.  Check them both out!

    Weekly Wrap Up
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all though the GA house
not a creature was stirring, not even a bear, penguin, wolf, eagle, zombie, tiger, cat, or Cindy Lou Who.
The stockings were hung by Steve's dryer with care.
In hopes that St. Myr soon would be there
The GA community were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of naked men, or women, danced in their heads.
And Valkyrie in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap
    (in separate beds, of course)
When out on the roof there arose such a clatter,
I sprung from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the surveillance app I flew like a flash,
opened it up on my iPhone, and selected the roof camera, recording it in case I could make me some cash.
The moon on the breast (eww) of the new fallen snow
gave the lustre of midday to objects below
when, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature Mustang and sixteen tiny volunteers
With a little mid-age driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. @Myr
More rapid than eagles (unless it is Talonrider), his coursers they came,
and he whistled and shouted them by name:
    "Now @Cia! Now @Graeme!
    Now, @Reader1810! and @drpaladin!
    On, @Aditus! On, @Valkyrie!
(when did she sneak out of bed?)
    On, @Cole Matthews! On, @TalonRider!
    On, @Timothy M.! On, @spike382!
    On, @Parker Owens! On, @W_L!
    On, @Comicality!, On, @astone2292!
    On, @rec! On, @wildone!
(wait, I didn't sign up to pull St. Myr around the world!)
To the top of the porch!
To the top of the wall!
    Now dash away! Dash away!
    Dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky
so up to the dwelling-top the coursers they flew
with a sleigh full of stories, and St. Myr too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
the prancing and pawing of each little volunteer.
As I closed out of the app and was turning around,
down the dryer vent St. Myr came with a bound.
    (who has a chimney anymore?)
He was dressed all in faux fur, from his head to his foot,
(no real fur as it might upset some members)
and his clothes were all tarnished with lint and a sock.
A bundle of stories he had flung on his back,
and looked like an owner just opening his pack.
His eyes--how they twinkled! His dimples, how gay!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a sun ray.
(needed something that rhymed with gay)
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
and the day old growth was as white as the snow.
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
and the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
(not sure what he was smoking in his pipe)
He had a broad face and a little beer belly,
that shook when he laughed, like a bowl of jelly.
He was sturdy and strong, a right jolly middle-aged elf
and I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
(did I call him chubby! I might have something to dread)
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
and filled the stockings with stories, and turned with a jerk.

And laying a finger aside of his nose,
and giving a nod, up the dryer vent he rose.
He sprang to his Mustang, to his team he gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all at GA, and to all a good night!"

Now for something that we really need some help from all our budding and seasoned authors, especially those that were fans of Carlos Hazday's vast collection of prose.
December 27th at 11:59 PM EST is the deadline to submit your tribute stories for Carlos Hazday.
All the information is here. It is not too late to start and submit.
On another note, there is snow on the ground this morning, but we are supposed to get possibly up to 0 today with sun and -1 tomorrow. I've cancelled my trip to the North Pole and the jolly old fellow has a reprieve once again this year!

    Weekly Wrap Up
On the 8th day of Christmas, by true love gave to meeeeee, divorce papers!!! 😮
Well, that isn't how the song goes  But if any of you do get divorce papers on Sunday, I am so sorry
To tell the truth, all I can remember from that song is the five golden rings, two turtle doves and a penguin in a pear tree  This shall lead into the question of the week! Hmmm, do I have a question of the week every week? So rather than just asking what your favourite Christmas song is, I want to know what is your favourite Christmas song that you know word for word  Jingle Bells only counts if you know all the verses  If you feel up to it, sing out the words to your song below in your reply. FYI, I won't be putting anything down. I'm a one or two verse kinda guy
We had another very busy week here at the GA News Blog. I think I will be asking @Myr for a Christmas bonus this year  A bonus of 2% of $0 is what? Any accountants out there that can let me know how much I will get?
Monday. Well Monday I messed up  I tried to replace @Timothy M. and do the layout of this months Review Team's Feature Story. I failed. I did apologize to @Mancunian for misspelling one of the main characters name in the blog title and story title as well. Shameful. At least @spike382 gave a great review. Make sure you check this story out. I read it before doing the blog and it is a really nice short story:
Tuesday, @Myr took over the blog and guess what? He did it right :
Thursday was 18th episode of the Author Guess Who by @astone2292. I got my guess in, kind of, do you?
Looks like on Friday, our resident penguin, @Valkyrie, took the prompt team another step towards the holidays:
Finally on Saturday, we got our weekly treat from @Comicality with another Writing Article:

Here is the words of the week :
easement, neptunium, retrench, indefatigable, machete, perishable, mewl

    Weekly Wrap Up
It is starting to look a lot like Christmas
I may have mentioned we had a big dump of snow before Halloween, but that was all melted off since the first week of November. Then we have had temps in the mid to high teens without a drop of moisture until last Thursday. We got a good dumping of snow. I would like my Christmas to be white, but not looking like it as the temp will be in the mid teens (celcius) again next week. Maybe I will have to make a trip to the North Pole
In the meantime, before I leave and need to have Cia cover for me as I make my way up north, shall we wrap up this past week?
Yesterday, Comsie finished off the week with a great Writing Article:
Friday we had the Prompt gang at it again:
Thursday we heard from Val on the upcoming 2024 Writing Events:
Wednesday was the 1st one in December. That meant Aaron brought an all new AAA 3.0:

Tuesday, Myr went all softy on us and did the Romance Deep Dive
Monday, Cia kicked it all off with the announcement of the December CSR:

Now here is the Words of The Day in reverse order too!
shuttlecock, phlegmatic, oxide, meteoroid, unbidden, midriff, liven

    Weekly Wrap Up
Its starting to feel a lot like Christmas...
Well, I hope you all are getting in the festive spirit  Maybe not so much myself. The past two weeks and been nightmarishly busy at work and I don't know if I'm coming or a going.
Hoping maybe tomorrow will get me out of my bah humbug mood, as we go out to the forests and find Christmas Trees! I won't be getting one as there isn't enough in room my condo, but at least it is the first Christmassy thingy I'll be doing
So what happened last week. Well a lot to tell the truth. So shall we wrap it all up?
Monday was the November CSR Discussion Day. If you didn't get a chance to get in there, well do it and.. discuss
Tuesday, Myr decided to go poetic on us and presented us all with a Poetry Deep Dive:
I will have to go back and look at my guesses, well maybe not as I definitely got it all wrong, but Aaron revealed the Author Guess Who?:
Friday it was our Prompt Team that got locked and loaded in getting back to a weekly schedule (how do you say it, sked-ju-all, or shed-ju-all?) with some new prompts for all of us:
Saturday brought the week to a close with a new Writing Tips feature from Comsie:

Now what about the Words of the Day?
conifer, castigate, mystical, croquet, muslin, pleurisy, horrendous

    Weekly Wrap Up
Wow, what a week of thanks. We were able to tie in thanks, on American Thanksgiving for a lot of our site contributors over the last week and it has been great to let them know how much they are appreciated
    Whoa............................
Who did you not fit into last week?
With shame and apologies to him as well as all his avid readers, let's get in some thanks to the person that is the reason that Gay Authors exists!
Please join me and all the Admin Team as we extend our heartfelt thanks to the guy that shows up every Saturday and provides all the authors with great Writing Tips.
    @Comicality
In addition to the mention in this blog, we are also giving him his own Blog Contributor Badge. Make sure to express your thanks here or drop by his profile and let him know your thanks!

Now lets look at what else we got up to last week, shall we?
On Monday, we made sure to say our thanks for our hard working Anthology Team:

Wednesday, usually a once month day for @astone2292 to do his AAA 3.0 as well as him taking on the Author Guess Who now on Thursdays, we recognized his efforts as a Blog Contributor:
Thursday was the actual day, it was American Thanksgiving! We took this day to recognize everyone here at GA. If it wasn't for each and everyone of you, not sure GA would even be here after all these years:
Friday, hmmmmm. Who usually pops on for Fridays you ask! Well it is our dedicated Prompt Team. We needed to thank them:
Saturday, we had Comicality's Writing Tips blog locked and loaded. That is why we wanted to thank him today in addition to the Wrap Up:

    Announcements
Continuing on with our week of thanks, the Admin team wants to call out the amazing volunteers on our Moderation Team!! When most of us think of moderation they think it is all about discipline. We all try really hard to educate first.
Then in limited cases, we do have to let some know what they are doing, how it is harming the site, and what we need to do to avoid it in the future. Due to the actions by our Mods, this is about always the only occurrence due to their willingness to help everyone they need to reach out to. Needless to say these thankless volunteers are the ones who are monitoring the site, the ones when needed to reach out to others, and also contributing daily to the site's operation.
Unfortunately spam is something that tries to infect our site at every turn. With our Moderators doing such a good job, most spammers are caught before the members ever see it. The great thing is that all of our members are right there reporting spam to the SMT as well. A lot of decisions, those not needing moderation like spamming, everyone acts as a team to contribute to coming up with a solution. To say everyone agrees would be not true. Through their professional attitude taken , an agreeable action froward can be quickly reached. I say professional, but yet they are all volunteers rising up to the task.
Join me in thanking the people behind the scenes a lot of the time helping to keep GA running daily.

    @Reader1810
    @drpaladin
    @TalonRider

As a small token of our appreciation, we have created and put this badge on all of their profiles:

    Weekly Wrap Up
    Wow, what a busy week
Not only personally but also here at the GA News Blog!
I won't bore you with my week although it was Tony the Tiger, Greeeeeeeeeeat! But shall we start off will US Thanksgiving week in the US of A. I'm sure with everything going on in our world's, day to day, and week to week, there is a few things that if we look at our own lives and leave out the rest, there is a lot to be thankful for. Although I'm not 'merican, I'm personally glad that I have GA to come to day to day if I want and see what is going on with people that I honestly do want to learn a bit more about. I'm happy for my family, friends and on most days, glad that I have a job. Realizing others may not have that, it makes you think of even the smallest things can make a difference.
So if you are 'mercian or not, tell me at least one thing that you're thankful for this year? Let's get a long chain of answers on this week's question!
Now, we did have a really busy week this week at the GA News Blog, as mentioned, so let's get the show on the road.
Monday was a great day to kick off the week with a review from our newest member from the Review Team, W_L:
Tuesday, our fearless leader put out a blog on a Deep Dive:
Then it was a surprise on Wednesday for our Review Team to be thanked:
Thursday was quite a exciting day. Not only for a new writing event, but also for reflection on what we call could do for Carlos Hazday:
Now if you are thinking to yourselves that this is enough in one week, you are wrong
So not including Sunday, we had six days in this week. That meant six blogs including this great article from Comicality. It is kind of scary :

What would a wrap up be without looking back on all the Words of the Day we had:
muskmelon, mastiff, ravish, dichotomy, nocturnal, pejoration, spermatozoon

The Case of the Short, Short Prince

For a serious person, it offers an escape into a magical world where you can get lost in the adventure plots. Its spiraling plots and characters reminded me of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or Dragon Age, furthering my escape into this world of fantasy.
Above the quaint nostalgia, the story inspires with its well-paced fantasy plot, I think what kept me reading was the introduction of new fantasy elements throughout the tale. Despite new magical tools and new backstories that are integrated with the plot, Geron Kees did not overwhelm readers with exposition which is a hallmark of the fantasy genre.
The other benefit in Geron Kees' writing style is that the romance has already been established with Jamie and Garvin at the start, so we don't have to spend time getting to the gay lovers' stuff. Reducing need for romance development saved room for plot pacing.
I found the story captivating and engaging with its fantasy premise. Fighting magical creatures, going on side-quests, and meeting new characters were seamless. While some plot elements are not original for fantasy readers, i.e. magic rings and nether realms, it is a well-written story with various threads tying together.
I recommend this story for those seeking a fun fantasy story that is fun with its plots and engages readers with its concepts.

    Weekly Wrap Up
Hey! Last week we changed the clocks in a lot of places, who changed the days this week?
Up here in Western Canada, yesterday was Remembrance Day were we remember all the veterans and peacekeepers that all served in our forces and some that died doing so. It is actually a holiday I believe in all Commonwealth countries, but others do a bigger ceremony on other holidays. When I say Western Canada, I know we have it as a stat holiday. This means this weekend has me mixed up. We are taking Monday off in lieu of yesterday.
What it all comes down too, I thought today was Saturday for some reason. Now before Val and Krista start digging out brochures looking for places to put for the rest of my years, I did remember when I woke up this morning. So things eventually will get done
Now that my blurb is over, lets get down to what we all are here for, the Weekly Wrap Up!
Monday was Cia's opportunity to come knocking  and gave us the November CSR Feature. Did you check it out?
Tuesday the door was left open for Myr to do a Historical Deep Dive:
First Wednesday of the Month, that meant Aaron brought us another edition of Ask An Author 3.0:
Whoooooooo are you? Who, who, who, who. Aaron has published his second edition of the revised Author Guess Who. Who do you think it is?
Hey, on Friday we got back to our Prompt again. I'm hoping that you can get some ideas on putting the pen back to the paper:
And what a busy week it has been. On Saturday, Comicality brought us a writing article to complete all 7 days this week with a GA News Blog feature!

    Weekly Wrap Up
I guess it is the time of year for our bi-annual bitch fest 😏You know what I’m talking about. We are falling back on Saturday night, Sunday morning. So if you forgot to set the clocks back, you can continue reading this wrap up, or go back to bed 😛
If you live somewhere that doesn’t have daylight savings time, considerable yourself lucky 🍀
So how many kids did you have come to your house for Halloween 🧙? I had zero. But I live in a secured condo building with very few if any kids living there. But I am proud of myself, I did not buy anything candy or chip related, telling myself just in case, knowing full well I’m buying them for me. Sound familiar?

Well those first two topics I do believe are North Amican centric. Why not toss in the Day Of The Dead. For any one with some spanish in them, is this worldwide or mainly Mexico? I learned about the two day holiday this year, and I’m surprised all of North America hasn’t embraced it.

    Okay Steve, move along…
This was our final Anthology 2023 week for Leap of Faith  So this week we will be back to our normal broadcasting schedule.
Cia gathered us all around for our CSR Discussion Day:
Then it was time for Valkyrie to wrap up the anthology. Let me thank all our authors, our readers for their likes and comments, our Proof Team, Val for organizing it all and Myr , Cia for all their know how. Make sure to read this blog also for the surprise entry:
Comicality joined us on Saturday with an all new article:

Here are the Word of the Day:
