Your comments are pretty spot on. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and I'm glad you're enjoying the story.

Thanks I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far and appreciate you taking the time to comment.

LOL Somehow I think he's probably a bit oblivious.

    Chapter 26

I think you pretty much nailed the current situation. We'll see how it pans out. Thanks for the comment. Glad you're caught up!

    Chapter 9

Sorry, no I haven't written about them. Good idea, though. Thanks for reading!
  6. There's quite a few authors on that list that I'm not familiar with. I like the theme "Escape". It was one of my top choices for the Special Anthology.
  7. Well at least it's written I'll just patiently wait for you to finish the revisions. And those are totally not pitchforks and torches behind my back.
  8. I always enjoy reading other authors' insights. Dissonance is well worth the read, and I hope this inspires Mac to work on the next chapter Northie's latest stories have been quite impressive. If you haven't checked out her newsletter shorts or Never too Late, I highly recommend them. I'm not as familiar with Jfalkon and Hunter's work, but it was nice reading the inspiration behind their stories. I proofread Jfalkon's anthology story, so it was nice to hear the inspiration behind it.

    Chapter 25

Thanks I enjoy reading your comments because they always get me thinking. You have me curious as to why you don't like Eddie. And you are right, things could have gone wrong very quickly in that situation.

    Latter Days

Neat! I looked up his farm and his products are sold in the grocery store I shop at. I'll have to check them out. It's about 50 mins from me.

    Chapter 26

Haha... not twisted at all. I love the smell of horse barns. (cow barns, on the other hand... ) Stable sounds are quite relaxing, aren't they? Especially after a hard day's work. Thanks for the comment and for sticking with the story.

    Chapter 26

Josh and Galen are not the best communicators, especially with each other. We'll see if Dr. Snowden can help with that. Thanks for commenting. I really appreciate your support.
  13. I've had my share of crappy jobs just to pay the bills. Having these jobs teach important personal skills, like standing up for yourself. Thanks for the comment!
  14. Danny was an a-hole, that's for sure. Fingers crossed for the protagonist. He'd be fortunate, indeed, to meet his own Randy
  15. Parts of this story are based on actual events. I can't remember if we had calculators or not... I think we did. I don't remember how many math errors I made, but we were threatened that the difference would be docked from our pay. I didn't last long enough to find out if he would make good on his threat. And no... I wasn't fired. I quit after about a week. I am not cut out to be a server. Thanks for reading and commenting!
  16. Me either There's a reason I went into a language-based field of employment.
  17. I don't read much fan fiction, but I'm intrigued enough to give this a try.
  18. I'm still giggling that we both used the name "Danny". I like this snapshot a lot. There is so much conveyed in few words and I want to know more. I'd love to know what pact they made. You captured the protagonist's anxiousness and embarrassment well. I'd love to read more.
  19. Emotion challenge: embarrassment; must include fidgeting, squirming; plummeting self-esteem. “Do you have any experience in the food service industry?” “I worked in the dining hall when I was in college,” I replied, wondering how to make plopping ice cream scoops of mashed potatoes onto thick, ceramic plates sound like it qualified me to be a waiter. “I see. And what were your duties in the dining hall?” The man interviewing me steepled his hands and regarded me with an

    Chapter 26

Galen “Ye’ve been working so much lately, love. Why don’t ye take the day off tomorrow? Caroline and I will make do,” Alannah stated. I paused as I groomed Dragon. The big bay horse nuzzled me, and I reached up to scratch his neck. “Are you sure? I don’t mind working.” “Quite sure, lad. I’ve been an unreasonable boss. Ye haven’t had a day off in over a month.” “Huh. Yeah, I guess I haven’t.” “Well, ye deserve one.” Dragon lowered his head, and I ran my hands alon

    Chapter 20

Flame wasps... *shudder* I'm going to have nightmares about those now. I'm absolutely terrified of sting-y things. I'm guessing the unusual behavior of the flame wasps has to do with the conversation Kohen overheard. Good thing he was meditating and saved everyone. Well, almost everyone.
  22. Unanswerable, indeed. "What if..." When I read the second, I picture a sea of school children reuniting after a semester or summer break. They are both powerful poems, and written with your usual finesse and infusion of emotion. Well done, my friend.
  23. It's so hard to lose our furkids. I'm sorry for your loss. Grieving takes time and writing definitely helps. I miss all of my kitties I've lost. Oh, and I have a tuxedo kitty too
  24. Me too, Tim. Just thinking about this story immediately brings tears to my eyes---it's that powerful. This story is one of Cole's best pieces of writing and it's no surprise that it won the Secret Admirer Contest. It's an absolute must-read, but be sure to have a box of tissues handy. You'll need more than one.

    Chapter 25

I love this comment. My beta reader said the same thing about everyone but Josh and Galen being aware that they're actually in a relationship. They'll have to acknowledge it at some point. You are right that Galen still has a long road ahead, but at least now he's on it. Thanks for commenting!
