  1. There's at least enough loose ends to have two or three more chapters, lol! I hate to see good stories come to their inevitable end. What about Alec's business? I'm looking forward to the Last Chapter (boo hoo!)...

    Chapter 9

Trying to rule Henry out as a suspect or to actually get him to confess is going to be a difficult job - let's see what the contact at home is like.

    Chapter 8

Elena is surely trying to no avail so far. Henry seems to distrust others and doesn't speak - a trait that is perhaps cultural. Let's see the next step.
  4. While Cam was very forward, he is exactly what was needed to get Finn and Alec on track. I applaud him! @weinerdogsaid, "usually skim over descriptions of intimate scenes because with a few exception of a few most authors say variations of the same thing. But @Demiurgeis one of those exceptions. His descriptions had me engrossed and I read every word." I couldn't agree more! This was more intense without being salacious.
  5. Hmmm....how did I know that Finn was going to show up? Fun chapter!

    Chapter 33: Worry

When one "wakes up" later in life, it is no coincidence to think the past was empty...but it took all that to get Alic to become the person he is today! Same for Finn. Now, I can't wait for the house to sell...
  7. Yes, there is codependence with Alic and River, but there is real platonic love that unites them. That they need to grow independently is a given, but their friendship does have redeeming value for both.

    Chapter 7

So they might already have seen this boy. I hope their strategy works without spooking him.

    Chapter 2

So beautiful a statement of true and pure love. There are many my age who lived lives as expected of them (or as perceived expected) but left behind someone they did love. Thank you for being able to express such deep feeling through words.
  10. With the limitations being placed on teachers in many states (just look at my state of Florida!), students will not be able to view the totality of history, but only the views of those in control. We are losing the ability to think critically, to discuss and debate respectfully, and to act responsibly. It is up to all of us who vote to start electing people who will challenge these backward views and adopt laws to protect all citizens!

    Chapter 1

Very powerful statement of one's eyes being opened to truth and leading to personal freedom. Great writing!

    Chapter 21

I've been missing this family! The trip sounds wonderful! And the wedding will be simply elegant! Hope the next chapter comes soon!

    Chapter 6

Interesting addition to the development of the story. Looking at the new kid as the source of the drugs simply because he is Chinese and from New York seems the likely prejudicial view of a small town.
  14. And so, the HEA ending after so much deceit, hurt, adolescent behaviors...but I followed it to the end. Quite the trip!
  15. I look forward to the Anthology, but really look forward to a continuation of the CJ series. Excellent job, as always, Carlos!

    Chapter 5

It would be a plus if they could actually find someone who was using drugs in school and be able to question that student...
  17. Such a beautiful and descriptive story of self-discovery in a place that gave him the freedom to do so! When two individuals are drawn together in such a beautiful place such as Alaska and discover the freedom through understanding the nature of Two Spirits, the result is absolutely beautiful. This well-written story draws the reader into the full experience of the protagonist (Vince) and the one who gives him permission to be himself (Cagey/Wolf).

    Chapter 1

Since I also came late to this story (after reading The Travellers), I must say that it was truly delightful. I could so relate with Vince myself! Where I depart from his experience, I have found that I do enjoy living by myself and in my mid-70's, I truly am too set in my ways to entertain a live-in. However, I do enjoy many lovely and wonderful friendships! I have read other stories about Two Spirits and really like the concept! So much of Native American/Indigenous North Americans is such deep and profound spirituality that I find most appealing. Thanks for sharing this story - and I will work my way through your other stories - if you haven't already written a sequel, I also vote for one!
  19. A very sweet and wonderful read, this story leads one through the early 20th century in Scotland with a master craftsman and two proteges who have to travel from place to place to find work. They find their path is not easy and filled with high and low points. One can almost sense being the invisible observer through the descriptive prose.

    Loose Ends

Wonderful ending! Thanks for a great read!

    Dinner Party

Another wonderful chapter, as usual. However, I have a question: When CJ visits the market, you mention about its history: 'Eastern, a ten-minute stroll from Everhope, opened its doors in 1873. Over the years, it survived the Civil War... To my recollection, the Civil War was officially over, at least time-wise, in 1865, though it still lives on in the minds of some... How did it survive the Civil War?
  22. Very well written! I could feel the angst of all three characters as though I were the silent spirit present! I am eager to see how there is a HEA for each one of them!

    Catastrophe

I have read through the 14 chapters before finally commenting, as I could only agree with what has been said before. Brian is definitely a priest who is a true pastor and not an institutional cog. It will be interesting to see what he does next. The boys have learned a lot from Collin...it will take a period of grieving to move forward, but they will as their love is strong. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful story! I am eager to see the forthcoming chapters!

    Chapter 4

Detective work is tedious for sure! Eager to see how it resolves.

    Arrival

I'm just so glad to see a Carlos Hazday story posted! In that it's another volume in the CJ series only makes it sweeter!
