  1. Rabbits just keep multiplying. They need some form of birth control so that the story can return to its original excitement.
  2. This is a delightful story that started out as reflections from each of the two main characters, Blu and Kyle. We learn the backgrounds of both as they start their freshman year of college. There is some drama, but it is more the story of how love from various sources allow an emotionally beat-down young man to grow into a confident young adult. It is a wonderful collaboration of two gifted writers.
  3. He certainly has some 'splainin' to do, Lucy!! I certainly do hope there will be sequels to this story. You've created some very interesting characters and a plot that has hoping time passes more quickly.

    Chapter 1

And so it begins. Unless I missed it, I am unsure of his age, though it sounds as though he just graduated from High School.
  5. Robbie has come a long way in terms of his admitting his feelings for his family. Jo is the therapist he truly needs! Please don't keep us waiting weeks for the next chapter!
  6. It was a week of expectation and you did not disappoint! But!!!!....now we'll have to wait another week to deal with this cliffhanger! Great job as always!
  7. This was a delightful chapter!

    Ranger

Carlos brings his wonderful ability to blend issues and drama into the journey of a young man who suffers a life-changing event into the motivation for a positive future. A great read!!!

    The Return

Another excellent addition to your portfolio of stories! I liked the style of this chapter - the going back and forth to understanding the process of the speech. As a retired high school counselor, I have seen many students go through this process of growing up. I'm sure that Tom Kennedy was bursting at the seams with pride, love, and admiration as he listened to the delivery of this speech. Now...flesh out that story about Mexico....please! Thanks, Carlos! The Caretaker

I love the positivity that is the basis of your stories. Brad is so very fortunate to have the friends he has for support, encouragement, challenges, and respect, but most importantly, love! I would hope your stories, and this one especially, inspires more to do what they can for homeless vets! Tony

    A Silent Song

A most engaging story on its own and part of the Camp Refuge series.

    Endings

Such a wonderful journey that will engage your mind and your emotions. This is a well written story that captivates from the first paragraph to the last. From the mere number of comments where readers reacted and conversed with one another, you will find that your own passions are challenged. It is one of the best I have read on this site!

    Surprise!

I could do with a long ending....with lots of intervening events...and a big ol' HEA!!!
  14. What a wonderful close to the story! But I do agree: an epilogue of a few chapters is in order! A double wedding and after a visit to Alaska where they plan the event...don't let the characters just stop here, please!!! Tony

    Surprise!

And so the drama continues! Love it!!! I just am impatient waiting for the weekly post!

    The Screenings

Please don't say this is the end! I love this series of stories regardless of which character is featured. You do such a wonderful job of providing entertainment, education, issues and character development, Carlos! Tony
  17. As was said in the description of this story, not a story you might expect on this site, but one wee worth reading! A true testament to love and commitment from the time of the Great Depression forward. It is a great read!

    Chapter 18

Returning to Rothenia after completing the series, it seems like being able to go back in time and enjoy these characters all over again and relive each of these scenes. Wonderful job, Mike Arram! Now, I eagerly await your next posting!
  19. I was measured at 5'6" when younger and have kept that as my official height since - until I was measured at my doctor's office recently and have shrunk a full inch in height ! I always wanted to be taller too, but take what I have!
  20. Do we have to wait another week to find out how this turns out? Great job, Laura, but I feel like the tension is stretching me very thin! Tony
  21. I had an uncle who was a double amputee - not from war, but from disease - but who was as exuberant and skillful as Brad! He was a true hero to me and I learned a lot about life from him. Brad will succeed because he has the attitude and determination to do s - and does not give in to self pity but works through doubt to confidence. Great chapter, Carlos! Tony

    A New Direction?

Ok...I'm an older fart here...My teen years were filled with the music of the 60's- the Beatles, Roy Orbison, and later Simon & Garfunkle, all the ballads...I enjoyed them greatly, but am still stuck on former rock stars like Beethoven, Bach, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Bellini, among others.

    Chapter 17 Lilah

By the sheer number of comments one can see that you have created a story that has depth and quality, Gary. I totally understand Hank's reactions: I am an adult child of an alcoholic father. My father, however, stopped communicating with me when I was 12. He died when I was 45 from complications that came from his drinking. My parents stayed together because my mother had no way to support herself or a family had she left him. She played the part of nursemaid and gave a public appearance that all was well. She was 69 when he passed and from that point until she passed at 86, she lived a wonderful life, often saying that she existed for 69 years and lived every day from that point on. I never understood why my father stopped communicating with me - I thought for years I had done something wrong or something was wrong with me. Henry probably married not only because Lilah was pregnant, but because he couldn't deal with himself either. The alcohol was merely a way to anesthetize his psychological pain. I have no doubt he loved his son and loved being a father - but that might not have been a possibility in his day if he had stayed with Will. That is the reality of being gay prior to the late 80's or 90's for most. Marriage to a person of the same sex didn't become a reality for the entire U.S. until 2015. That Henry never spoke about this publicly to his wife or son is a sad statement of his reality. I look forward to the further development of this wonderful story as Gary posts each chapter. Just wish postings were sooner rather than later, but then again, I am not ready to see the ending of this story just yet either! Tony
  25. Please don't make us wait so long for another posting! With all this social isolation, I look every day for a posting as I want to see how this gets resolved. Impatience seems to be my forte at this time! Great job!
