Heaven and hell in this one. I hope they can find strength in each other for the fight with Cheryl and her gang.

Now I'm picturing a scaley cherubim who comes out of that egg breathing fire... Would make the toddler time interesting...

If one egg doesn't make it, it would be sad but not so strange. Must be lots of things than can go wrong, especially for a special blend like this. But I'm guessing it's a very special creature in there...

Oh, I want them to hatch! So curious! But it would be weird if they emerge from the eggs as tiny Kohens...

I was a bit concerned about the risk of just this confusion. I considered having italics or some other way to show the dream sequences, but I didn't want to ruin the element of surprise when the "real" world entered the story. So I opted only to use the dashes inbetween. I'm sorry if this made the story unclear and I'm grateful for the feedback. If I try something like this again, I'll give it more thought to see if it can be avoided.

I wanted Fabian to be a good guy, so it felt natural to have him try to cheer up his slightly down Devon. The guys were just a little off track, so some proper communication (and a little role play) set them straight. As for counsellors... I have no idea how they can keep going sometimes. And I think you're right about his fantasies being an escape. It wasn't actually the relationship that was bringing him down, but a sense of "Is this all? And is it worth it?" I'm happy you found the characters different in each snippet. Even if you found it strange, I actually made an effort to have them all be different people. The risk to me was writing them same guys in each scene. Though I will think about if this makes the story too disjointed and if I could have done something differently to avoid this. The light-hearted was because I felt it was a bit silly with the cliché dream scenarios. And of course I always knew Devon and Fabian had nothing to worry about as regards their relationship. Now that I read the comments, it's clear people took Devon's troubles more seriously than I thought. So thank you for pointing that out. And for commenting! Rattling his cage... It must be so difficult to break through the wall of preconceived notions and get actual help. Going on your own conviction can be very lonely. I'm glad they at least got help.

Emotions going all directions at this ending. Glad Joy finally reached out (even if there's a way to go yet) and also to see the guys having such a great time on their holiday, angry about that violent idiot. I'll look forward to see more of them.

Well, a dragon/Kohen hybrid would be a formidable creature, but who is planning this? Seems they are down to a precious few people and it would be sad if one of them actually was a traitor. Aparoe is closest at hand to suspect.

Hugh turned out quite lucky, finding such tolerant colleagues in a rather macho world. But times are changing, thankfully. I'm sure he and Dean will have plenty of opportunities to practice putting out the blaze between them. Temporarily until it flares up again and again.

Oh, what a lovely revisit! I'm glad you gave them such a sweet ending. And a parade! I love reading about those little towns doing parades. Feels like those places are where they are needed most. Since I spent last night by a lake under that never ending pale sky fighting off the mosquitos, I felt so at home during their beach visit. It's a beautiful part of the world we live in.

Such deceit! Must feel like an immense betrayal from those who were considered closest confidants.
