I love how protective Will is of Teddy, even in his head. It really shows how much he cares about him. It looks like Teddy, although still tentative, is loving the physical attention from Will. I am really happy that they seem to be going down the right path now. All they need now is to find Schvesla's machine. but I have a feeling, like any pot of gold under the rainbow, it's not going to be what they are expecting to find.

Chapter 13 Betting on a Sure Thing
LitLover commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 13 Betting on a Sure Thing
Mr and Mrs Ace are hilarious! I love how they teased the boys, letting them know their relationship is not just accepted but is encouraged in their home. Go Mr Ace! You move that furniture! Lol. I was so sad for Chet. He seems so lonely. I hope he finds someone. Maybe Jeremy? K and M are so in love and it's great to see them interacting as lovers and best friends, with the joking and the innuendo. They are so sweet together. I love that K assured M that he is number one, no matter what and that Chet would accept them as a couple or wouldn't be around them. I think that took away any speck of jealousy or doubt the M would have had. I am curious to see what happens when K comes out to his parents. I'm concerned it's going to hurt Kendall, but he at least has Michael at his side. -
I love that Hel is such a "teenager" haha. He may have a sprint wolf but that doesn't stop him from being sulky when he's unhappy or someone tells him something he doesn't want to hear Reminds me of when my kids were young teens. Haha. I am happy he's starting to open up to Aki at least. I can't imagine the helplessness that boy must have felt, watching himself be hit and not being able to stop it or defend himself. On a side note: I bet I can guess who's at the door.

I like mine crisp, but not to the point that it shatters when you bite it...although bacon shards are excellent in salads. Now I want bacon too.

The Captain has really evolved into such a good man. He is trying so hard to be supportive of Gabe and to be a husband for Meg. He has come a long way from the hard man we were introduced to. I hope that this trip home can help heal Gabe a little more. Great chapter! I look forward to the next one.

It was great that CJ finally got to talk to his brother. It sounds like Ritchie really loves and misses CJ. It has to be hard for CJ being away from him, even though it's through no fault of his own. It is nice to see CJ making friends. It would be great if he met some young people his age who he can relate to as a teen (e.g., going to high school, what, if any sports he wants to try out for, hanging out with buddies, being excited about learning to drive, deciding what you want to be when you grow up etc). He may be mature for his age but needs to start acting like a kid while he still is one. He's had too much reality and need for maturity thrust on him. It would be good just to see him be a teenager that doesn't have the world on his shoulders for a while. He has lots of time to be an adult. It actually made me a little sad that CJ, jumping around and excited that his team won was seemingly his first sign that his dad's had seen in awhile of him acting close to his age. I hope he can get more of that.

Although I wish we could know what happened when Nate finally spoke to Clem I guess we really don't need to know. It's enough to know that he was going to apologize, with Taylor at his side, holding his hand. Taylor said that neither one of them is ready to declare themselves as boyfriends yet and that's true, but I don't think it will be long before they are ready. Nate has made a lot of progress, but he still has a lot of work to continue to do. I like that the ending wasn't an insta-fix. It would not have been realistic. It took his whole life up to this point to make Nate the man he has been. It's going to take time to make lasting changes in his behaviours and attitude. The point, for me, is that he is willing to try, and he is trying. That in itself means there is hope for the long term. I also like that he is realistic about the issues he is going to have with his dad. I doubt that old man will ever change, but I think Nate can learn how to better cope with him without allowing the man to run roughshod over his life anymore. It's not going to be easy, but I think Nate can do it. Thank you for redeeming him Sasha. I knew you could do it.

I feel ill for Gabe. What an awful thing to have to suffer through. I can understand why this was so hard for you to write. It was hard to read. The only positive is that Ryle can help him deal with his feelings about this because he has been through it himself and Gabe never has to worry about these two men ever again. I agree with other reviewers that their deaths were far too quick and painless. I know there is going to be some time before Gabe is going to be able to deal with this properly. I just hope Ryle doesn't allow Gabe to push him away, which Gabe may try to do.

I really liked this. Your experiences, both good and bad help shape who you are. Never lie about yourself. "Be proud". A very empowering message to give to his teenage self. Everyone who has had the courage to come out, in spite of the potential problems and rejection they might face should be very proud of themselves.

Great first chapter. I am intrigued. I look forward to seeing where this goes!

Wow that sounds like its going to be another great story!

Dave did a wonderful job with Barry in this chapter. He knew that Barry needed more help than he could give and called the doctor. Most importantly, he didn't let Barry push him away. I love that he laid down with him and held him tight and assured him he wasn't going to leave. Barry needed to hear that...and will need to hear it again and again until his life starts to even out again. Dave is completely off kilter and hurting right now and his face is just a physical manifestion of all of the changes in his life in such a short period of time. I guess seeing his changed face really made that hit home even more for him. I am really curious to hear what the AD has to say. Sounds like it'll be big...and hopefully something good. Excellent chapter Robert. Thank you!

Will's family (at least his mother and brother) sound like the "power and prestige at any cost" sort. I doubt they are going to be in any way supportive if Will and Teddy. In fact, I would worry about them deliberately trying to sabotage the budding intimacy in their relationship if they ever get wind of it. I loved how protective Will felt of Teddy when his idiot brother seemed to be trying to "put him in his place" so to speak. It's no wonder that Will comes off as so stiff and formal at first, if this was what he grew up with. It's nice to see him loosen up and be more relaxed with Teddy.

Chapter 12 The Luck of the Draw
LitLover commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 12 The Luck of the Draw
There was so much that made me smile about this chapter. I loved the continued playful, teasing banter between Michael and Kendall. It gives us a glimpse of what their friendship was like before Kendall first came out to Michael, but with the added intimacy of lovers. The fact that both Michael and Kendall are more focused on the satisfaction they get from giving pleasure to each other says a lot about them as individuals and as a couple. They are both so open to anything that might make the other feel good and can't seem to last more than a few minutes without some form of physical contact. It's a beautiful thing to witness. I was teary eyed for Kendall when Mr and Mrs Ace let him know they wanted him to call them Mom and Pop. They are wonderful and supportive parents. I was especially moved when Mr Ace said "It was about time" because they were driving him and mrs ace crazy waiting for them to figure things out and then wrapped Kendall in a big bear hug. I think that let Kendall know that not only was his relationship with Michael accepted, but Mr and Mrs Ace were also truly happy for them. I am curious to see how Kendall's parents will react to the news. From what Kendall has said they don't sound as though they're going to be as accepting as Michaels parents. Finally, I loved that they aren't boyfriends or lovers...they are partners. If there was another word that could better describe the level and intensity of their commitment I am certain they will find it. Thank you for another great chapter Gary! -
That was beautiful, amazing, sweet, romantic and incredibly sad. You have me sniffling and weepy :'(

Interesting premise for a story. I really enjoyed it. One question though, the boys are in love, but what would happen when Kurt aged and grew up? Would Jacob grow too or would they eventually have to let each other go?

James' respect for life, especially while hunting, shows a maturity not always seen, even in adults. Him standing up to his grandfather on Caseys behalf shows a loyalty to friendship that is admirable. You have created, with James, a very impressive young man. Kudos.

I loved the ending! Damien has really come to grips with Kayden being strong in his own right. I agree with the others, I would love to see a short or two about Nash and Oliver, maybe Brenner finding someone. I would love to see a sequel with Damien as king. Please though, no woman trying to marry him. I think they learned their lesson about jealousy in this story. We don't need to go down that road again. Maybe the polanthians trying to take over? Or someone trying to stage a coup because they don't like that Damien is with a "slave"?

Great chapter. I like that at least part of the team is rallying around Sammy and Tony. That cop who divulged Tonys statement should be severely reprimanded. It was not only a violation of Tony's rights, but also a violation of Evans rights as an accused. Looking forward to the next chapter!

It was nice to see Kayden and Damien get some time alone together to reconnect. They needed that. I love Oliver and Nash together. They are both so smitten. I admire that Nash is torn between wanting to stay with Oliver and his loyalty to his oath to Damien. That loyalty says a lot about him. Luckily he won't have to decide now . And what a surprise, Kayden "lost" his boots. Lol

Trying to lie about cheating to an empath? Yea that is dumb. Lol. I don't think the vamp ex cared if he got caught though. Ishca seems to be hanging around all of the wrong type of people. He sounds like he is going to be an intriguing addition to the story.
-
Casey did a good thing. He got some of his guilt off of his chest so maybe he and James can work to rebuild their friendship again.
-
Well Damien took that better than I expected! Lol.

Chapter 11 Playing For Real
LitLover commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 Playing For Real
Two chapters so quickly! You and LT are spoiling us! (I am NOT complaining though!). Great chapter Gary! I loved seeing M and K clearing up misunderstandings and airing out old hurts, without accusation. It's great to see them building a solid relationship based on honesty and understanding, with each other and with themselves. It had to be hard for Michael to admit his jealousy and I admire him for doing it, even though there was a chance he might look bad, because he wanted to be open about everything. He is a good man. And M actually thought of Chet as Chet! Such progress!! -
I knew Alec would find a way to get back to Drake! And Drake found the map to the mysterious Winterblade. I hope you're planning on a sequel, following Drake and Alec's journey as they start their search. I would love to read more about them. Excellent, if far too short story! Kudos!
