Yes, I do care! On Nifty a long time ago, I read a story where the shortest chapter was 35,000 words, and the longest was 70,000 words. With the exception of the first chapter, about 45,000 words, all the chapters could easily have been broken into two or three or even four parts. I no longer have a reading speed of 1000+ words per minute, so that makes for too long of a read when one also has to exist in real life with many interruptions at home. Only about three or four authors can hold my attention now for those extra long chapters or over 20,000 words. At this point, on Gay Authors, Dabeagle can, CraftingMom could, if the chapters were that long, and R. Eric can, and Cynus can, Timothy M, the super-talented Geron Kees definitely can, and possibly Rob Colton and Mark Arbour, and MrM. (I reserve the right to discover others.) There are a very few on other websites as well than can. If there is a way to split the chapter so each chapter is less than 20,000 words, that is often good, because life can get in the way. Since many authors do not approach that number of words in a chapter, it is rarely a problem.

Quokka, this is one of your best stories so far. Having plenty of dialogue is a good thing. I like Jasper, Simon, Kirk and Leon in addition to Anton and his immediate family. I'm hoping Simon gets featured a little more in the rest of the story.
-
Geron Kees, I loved the story. Any chance of a sequel, eventually?

SolarMaxx, thank you for the update. I am not surprised at what you have told us. A friend of mine was married to a woman over thirty years, and they have two sons--one gay, one straight with 5 or 6 kids. His ex-wife loves both sons, and is fine with the gay one as well-- but could not stand the idea that HER husband might be bisexual. She had broken promise after promise to him for years, and then wondered how he could divorce her. He got stuck with the entire house payment, even though her income is at least as much as his, and she got the house. I am glad you were able to be there for your nephew, and hope your wife is holding up okay, as well. Considering the parts of your family situation you have shared. do not be in any hurry to reveal your bisexuality to your nephew or anyone else. At this point it probably would stir up more flames instead of helping the overall situation. The full reasons I have for advising that would take much too many words to explain at this point.

Tonight, I was being logged out after 5 to 10 minutes of inactivity (as in not posting anything). This is the first time for some time I have had that problem. I use Windows 10, and Chrome browser, most of the time. Any ideas why it might have suddenly started doing this? While it is only a minor annoyance to sign back in, it is somewhat annoying.

I look forward to seeing how this develops, R. Eric. Great so far. Good to see Stan out with them. I look forward to seeing how Wayne and Amir and Amasis are able to help the company with some of the foreign concepts by looking at things, sometimes, at a different angle than the Americans.

Wow, James, when you put action and plot twists and intrigue and villainy together and stir well, it come out great! Looking forward to the future chapters.

So far I have not been kicked out unless I try to have more than 18 tabs open at once, or in case of power failure. I always use Chrome or Firefox (usually Chrome) for Windows 10, and have it set for Private Browsing except for the stories of James Savik. My Chrome settings, when i downloaded Chrome, have a long time setting before logging off (although refreshed each time I use that website). Unfortunately, I don't remember HOW I got the lengthy logoff setting set in the first place.

I look forward to future chapters, R. Eric. You certainly handled the last two chapters differently (and much better) than I expected. Just when I thought I had most of it figured out, BOOM! Change time. Very well done. Colin, Devon, and Willie have all undergone the serum at least twice, and therefore have something in common that many others do not. Maybe they should form a small, exclusive, club-- the multi-serumers-committmenters (multi-serumizers? Multi-serum-experiencers?) Surely Devon can find an name and initials for it! Since Mitch showed up, Rain Stevens might show up next with Eric Mitchell. But since no one has commented how much Devon looks like Eric, they might not be in this story....

I thought this chapter was exactly the right length for the angst involved on the part of both Ava and Bryan, and possibly Rob as well. It has been less than 20 years ago that I admitted I was bisexual to myself, let along anyone else. Most of the world and those close to me do not know yet. What attracted me to this story was the title, since I knew that "beards" are people who help cover up for each other's gayness by appearing to be boyfriend and girlfriend in mostly homophobic areas. I've read at least two other well-done stories about beards, and a couple not so well-done. So far, this is indeed well done. Now, for a question to be answered in a future chapter: Does Rob know about Ava?

R. Eric, this was a great chapter in a really good series. I can imagine you chuckling (and possibly some tears in your eyes, too) as you wrote this chapter. Now, we need for Seth and Eric and their two boys from the cruise ship (in North Meets South: Worlds Collide) to show up, and for Rain Stevens and Eric Mitchell show up from Luckiest Man in the World. I have enjoyed reading all of your stories, and hope you finish Luckiest Man in the World, eventually. Thank you for discovering your gift of writing. I'm eagerly looking forward to a lot more of Bluebloods 3 and Cinderfella 3, when you start that one.

I look forward to the nest 20 to forty chapters of this story, or more.

I hope there is security for Betty and Gabriella, as well. And how long will Devon have to take his serum?

Why the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings are classics
ReaderPaul commented on JamesSavik's blog entry in jamessavik's Blog
Yes, they are classics. Fortunately, when my third college roommate told me to read the books, he also warned me that, "It will take 50-100 pages for you to get fully into it because there is so much descriptive details which has to be set up for best understanding." He had never steered me wrong on reading before, so I took the books on vacation with me and while the adults were visiting on things which did not interest me, I read. I loved them! I have to agree with Arpeggio, also, about the Anne McCaffrey books as well, especially the Dragonriders of Pern series, and the Talents/Tower and Hive series, as well as singletons such as "No One Noticed the Cat." Alan E. Nourse, Andrew Norton, and Robert Heinlein also influenced me a lot. -
Another great chapter! Thanks, R. Eric.

R. Eric, another good chapter. Please continue this story for another 25 to 100 chapters (or more). I am enjoying how Yannick, Ryan, Zek and Gabe, and Garth and Bent are fitting into the story, too. I haven't noticed Hannah or Maria in the story lately. Are they still employed at the manor? I especially miss seeing Hannah. I'm a fan of Doris and Hannah! But if there's a reason Hannah and Maria aren't in the story, so be it. You know what your plans are, and I don't.

R. Eric, once again a fine story. I hope you are going to switch back and forth between this story and your others-- Cinderfella 2, North Meets South, Blueblood, and Superpowerball that are still in progress. I enjoy all of your writing so far, and hope every night for a new chapter of a story you're writing. I notice that Polymorphic Light Eruption is a real condition, manifesting itself in multiple ways. I do not recall hearing about PLME before. And reading a New Zealand website about it, I notice that someone with the condition is advised to wear SPF 40+ under their clothes, and at least SPF 50+ on exposed areas! Further, UVA rays most often set it off, but in some people it can be set of by UVB or even visible light! Makes for a very convenient explanation for the purposes of your story and I understand it so far. I look forward to seeing much additional development for this story. Thanks for writing it!

R. Eric, this is a good story that I really enjoy reading. I hope it continues on for a very long time.

R. Eric, I am greatly enjoying all of your stories on GA, especially that two you are now concentrating on. I can easily see Cinderfella 2 going to 60 or more chapters (and I hope it is more). I don't know if it is intentionally written that way or not, but I loved the double meaning possibilities of the following statement in Chapter 41: “If Erik had not told him not to come while we were intimate, he probably would have.” Cinderfella 2 is a worthy expansion of the first story. I hope you are writing on GA for a long time. Paul

Great story, R. Eric. I look forward to seeing what else is on the road ahead-- not just in this story, but the others also which are still listed as "In Process." David and Sasha on a date-- I was surprised at that, However, I am sure it will be interesting, whatever happens. Will David date Tasha, when she arrives in the US?

I saw this almost immediately after it was posted. I look forward to seeing it it really IS Deena, or a red herring influenced by Deena. I like your stories, and looking forward to seeing all not yet complete to be completed. I hope you have lots more stories percolating toward completion in your mind. Should you ever do a science fiction/alternate worlds story, I would like to see a crossover of the Cinderfella universe and the Suerpowerball universe. Thanks for you writing!
-
I have enjoyed this story and all of your stories. I hope you soon finish the two stories still listed as "In Process" AND do a Cinderfella honeymoon sequel! Have a great month! From Paul

I have been reading this story with interest when new postings appear. I'm glad to see Kye is finally realizing how loved he is, by Tareth, Ash, Liam, Roland, and others. He has earned that love and respect. Sometimes the mental chains that bind are worse than physical chains. Thank you for writing and posting this story.

Well done, Cynus. I love this story.

Thank you for posting this. I give you a heartfelt "I agree."
