I was intrigued by this passage: "‘Hang on, Henry. Do you mean you don’t think God is all-powerful and can do anything?’ ‘As it happens, no, I don’t think He’s all-powerful." Henry the heretic is my favourite character !

I notice that 'Rothenia' became 'Ruritania' in the course of Oskar's story. I enjoyed reading 'The Prisoner of Zenda' when a youngster.

It's strange that, although this story was posted on the site in 2011, all the 'likes' for this chapter were posted in 2018 or later. I'm finding it quite exciting and am surprised it seems to have been neglected for so long.

This is the first in a series of linked one chapter stories about the adventures of Charlie Boon and his three friends. Gradually, as the series progresses, others are drawn into the tale. Elves make frequent appearances and quite a few aliens are encountered. These highly imaginative stories are very exciting, and each story offers something new. What makes the series most attractive for me is that Charlie is always kind, his first reaction to a strange creature with an unusual problem is to befriend them and help to solve the problem. These are stories to be read when you want to feel happy. I recommend them without reservation, but it's important to read them in the order in which they were written.

One sign of a good story is that one feels sad when it ends, and that story is brilliant.

I read the story about six months after you l finished it, so the cliffhanger won't keep me hanging for very long.

I liked the Maths. Would Vlad have disintegrated into his eigenvectors if someone had computed his eigenvalues?

I enjoyed the story very much. I notice you haven't visited this site for some years so you may never see this comment, but I'm making it all the same. I'm surprised to few people seem to have found this story. I'm certainly recommending it. You made the characters sound like real people, and you gave them a realistic mixture of good and bad luck. I enjoyed following Mark's progress.

Well Done!! I was very surprised that you've never written before. All the stories are coherent, interesting and easy to follow with characters one can believe in. I'm delighted that you intend to go on writing.

Tomorrow morning I'll have a hard look at that little gargoyle next to the daffodils in my garden ! Now I think about it I realise that the cat never goes near it though she pokes her nose into most things.

Despite the apology with which you prefaced this chapter, I was fascinated by the details, and look forward to learning more when I read the next chapter. I expect that eventually most of those mages will come to a sticky end. I look forward to enjoying that too :-)

I notice Ethan doesn't like anchovies on his pizza. I've noticed that in lots of stories people dislike anchovies. Is that because anchovies are generally unpopular, or it it a convention that gay people are supposed to dislike them? I'm rather fond of them!
