Yes. I do it too. Though now that I no longer have cats, these are mostly silent. Except the profane ones. -
The Breath of the Dragon, which is most certainly nuclear fusion, still requires the presence of a device somewhere relatively close to initiate it, so it doesn't eliminate the rockets.

After thinking on these events, it's hard to believe mages have never battled each other with lightning bolts. It is one of the most elemental powers. Unless it's part of the lost knowledge.

I'd say more like pirates and thieves trying to take advantage of the technology for their own ends. They've been after it longer and have an advantage at this point, but as Jamie learns this advantage dwindles.

The logical supposition is the ancients simply walked away from all their technological marvels and went outside. Jamie and his companions are the descendants of the ancients. They are the ones the facilities are designed to recognize and serve.

The red mages will have no clue our group is now immune from what is likely their most powerful weapon. They all remarked it made them feel stronger. I wonder what side benefits this protection will give them? They have some new friends in this warrior clan. Those creatures they were fighting would have been impossible to defeat without all the skills they've gained.
