I think "three beating hearts" was a brilliant choice of words at the close of the chapter. Without them, the ending would have been merely tense.

Hopefully you are not diabetic, Renee. I am. It's both scary and a nuisance. I have to test my blood glucose level twice daily and try to keep it between 70 and 120. If it drops below about 50, I know it...a rather lightheaded feeling...which is when I treat myself to a Coke. Otherwise, I avoid sweets and eat very little bread or pasta. I've never passed out. That would be dangerous, especially if it occurred while asleep. I also have low blood pressure which folks with high blood pressure would love to have. The big problem is it presents the same lightheaded symptom, so I have to do an extra blood glucose check before I raid the fridge for a Coke. Best wishes.

I remember when the play was called Twelve Angry Men. Times have changed. If I remember correctly, Juror No. 12 is rather superficial and a bit of a snob with no great ability to relate to others. How did you prepare for that role?

The current chapter, in its first draft, included: "...Xavier reared back to deliver a powerful click kick, splintering the doorframe near the lock." "The two speedboats had responded to Bridget’s orders to heard herd Atlantis to her by been running line abreast near the shore..." "He lunged for it, his fingers connection connecting, only to slip off the wet tube as it toppled into the sea." "A sudden, blazing flash of flue blue lit Atlantis, followed half a second later by booming thunder." Never a dull moment.

Based on the justices' questions - not always a sure indication of the eventual decision - it appears likely that they will not rule in favor of either side in the California Prop 8 case, but will allow the California state courts' decisions to stand. That means that Prop 8 is overturned and gay marriage will once again be legal in California. It also means that the Court avoids a decision which would have an effect on any other states. Several of the justices questioned whether they should have accepted the case to start with.

From several conversations with C J, I know he's working tirelessly to finish the final chapter. We may hate waiting, but we always find it was worth the wait when he releases a chapter. So, we wait.

To quote a GA member, "I don't sweat the small stuff. Whatever I have no direct control over, doesn't matter." Hey! Anyone who likes frogs is OK by me. I'm one straight guy who is neither turned on nor turned off by a penis. From learning to swim at the YMCA when they were exclusively male institutions and swim suits were not permitted to many a common shower at school or in the Army, I've seen all shapes and sizes and have come to the conclusion that I'm glad to have one. At a family lunch recently, our three year old grandson started using the word "penis", not in a gross way nor in a scientific way. He got rather personal, pointing at each person at the table and saying either "You have a penis" or "You don't have a penis" and did so correctly for each person's gender going all the way around the table. His dad explained later that the little guy's first four words were "Mama, Dada, no and penis". That's what you get for trying to teach your child the proper terminology. He will use it correctly if not at an appropriate time.
