  1. The line was : While walking through the cornfield, Ray hears a voice whisper,"If you build it, he will come." If you believe the impossible, the incredible can come true. BTW, your story is amazing Do you have some connection to veterans of WWI ? I had a lot, specially an uncle, and he first never wanted to tell me stories about his war (he was wounded twice and became a convinced pacifist until the german occupation of France in WWII. He forgot his pacifism and became a member of the French resistance). Then he could talk and I learnt a lot from his war experiences.
  2. Happy Birthday WL! Mark, this is a silly question ! What about the gifts, the congrats, the parties ? Its not our lives that we celebrate, its the love of our partners, the friendship of the people around us.
  3. I didnt vote ! My preference goes to a mix of all three types. At the different stages I lived in the last 65 years, I met all three types. The quality of the relation didnt depend on the type.
  4. Mark (and others) told better than I could do what I would like to tell. The fight against cancer is long and heavy, but a good spirit as you seems to have is the best way to success. I also am with you.
  5. Thanks everyone for all your bday wishes... It is greatly appreciated. It was a day like any other, just a short dinner with wife and our 2 remaining (!) sons, an evening of happy memories of all the past bdays since my eldest son
  6. I agree, I use it often in my business life, but never at home with my wife .
  7. Hi Mike, what a wonderful list, but not so easy to fulfill! Looking back on a journey of 57 years with my wife, I tried to remember if my actions and attitudes did follow your advices. My scale was: For the points beginning with never (points 1, 2, 6, 8, 9 and 12): 1 for
  8. Any day of the week is fine by me. But just to answer the poll, if I have to pick a day, Iwill go with Friday, to start the weekend on the right foot!
  9. I advise you to make the same journey I made for my pleasure. Go to "Readers" and then to "hosted authors". I had the choice between dkstories and Dom Luka. Both are amazing, but I began with dkstories and I wasnt deceived. Begin with "Do Over" and read all the Do Saga one story after the other : "Do Over", "Do Over Redux", "Doing it right" and "Lets do it". You have a lot of reading hours before you .Enjoy and tell us what you think. I wish you good reading time
  10. A straight version: women = pleasure x devotedness Everybody knows that devotedness of a woman is equal to pleasure for the man, so women= (pleasure )
  11. We had already a lot of discussions about bisexuality. I made several times in posts, blogs and comments clear that, as an happy bi, I dont need a lot of explanations to explain what I feel and what I am. But here, I fully agree with Procyon. AdamP's words are the most amazing and the most appropriate words I ever heard about this subject. Thanks a lot and "Bravo"!
  12. In my case, during the last 70 years (I didnt ask this question before I was 10 !) I tried to find the right answer each time I had a problem to resolve, about myself or about my relations with others. I got often, when not always, a lot of different answers . When I summarise all these years of experiences, two points are important : 1. All what you know about yourself, is that you know nothing ! 2. You are always defined by the others. So many people you are with, so many different definitions. To try to define yourself is a worry of young people , not for old chaps as me.
  13. To be "a red dog, or maybe some kind of weird hybrid" is an honor . You keep your own opinion but you are still efficient .
  14. Mark, when you have found the fountain of youth, give me its adress asap I'm in a hurry Kevin, you are amazing I tried to make the same survey for myself. I'm not a good guy as you are !
  15. Bi Male; primarily top. But neither I like the word "primarly". The most fun is in the diversity ! Although, in my age... more bottom than top .
  16. Welcome back Comsy
  17. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRAEME. AND MAY YOU HAVE MANY MORE. It is always a great pleasure to read your stories and your posts. You are really a special guy, the way you live your gayness is an example for a lot of us. 46 or 2 x 23 is the beginning of a long youth . Have a nice birthday with your family and friends.
  18. I agree, but why such a sad glance ?
  19. Eating a quick lunch at a fast food restaurant like a MacDo or having a nice dinner with several appetisers and a large Menu card are not to be compared (Visual perception is inextricably linked to how customers read a menu. Most menus are presented visually and the majority of menu engineering recommendations focus on how to increase attention by strategically arranging menu categories within the pages of the menu). For me, not only I love to take my time on the appetiser, before enjoying a nice meaty main course, but my first pleasure is to read (or imagine) the menu before "be seated at the table". To choose the "dishes" together with your host is an important part of the dinner ! And not to forget the pleasure of conversation, in which both should participate. my motto is "take your time" ! BTW I follow Mike's suggestion : "keep it clean". You will certainly be able to translate my comment to understand what I mean .
  20. Happy Birthday Mark ! It was and will be for ever nice to meet you here. You remember me how I was 34 years ago and I wish you to be in 35 years how I am today, with the wonderful memories of a thrilling life !
  21. I may try to answer this question : During the last 18 months of WWII, two groups were trying to influence the unfolding of WWII on german side : the german resistance (an opposition by individuals and groups in Nazi Germany to the regime of Adolf Hitler between 1933 and 1945. Some of these engaged in active plans to remove Hitler from power and overthrow his regime. Their plans culminated in the unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Hitler in July 1944, see German resistance ) and on the other side, the nazi extremists with first the SS-Obergruppenf
  22. This poll is real politic fiction! James are you aware of the real world situation of today? Do you really think that we will have a WWIII in the next 10 years? I remember the years before WWII and learnt a lot in history about the years before WWI. When you follow all the events which happened in the different countries involved, you can always detect the causes which leaded to the war itself. And since 1945, we had in the last 50 years continually somewhere in the world a lot of local wars but no one was the beginning of a world war. Today we live in a global world and when two states begin a war somewhere, there are enough others whose interests are to limit the conflict between the initiators. Reading the different comments in your poll, the general opinion is that WWIII will lead to a fully destruction of our civilization. That
  23. Not so bad for an old chap . It was yesterday evening, about midnight, celebrating with 28 old students from our college graduation 60 years ago. We were about 80 graduates in 1948. Where are all others gone now ? .
  24. Also welcome to the club ! And dont let you disturb by too much thinking. You said "I'm still working out what it means though." Let you lead by your feelings, enjoy day by day. Bi's have a much larger horizon than others gays. Use it and don
