Jed’s beast provides a great deal of tension in this chapter. He must work very hard to keep from taking Franklin, yet his behavior is remarkably odd enough to keep that young man away in the future. Meanwhile, what Wolfgang uncovers makes things curiouser and curiouser... great chapter!

Loved this chapter. The not-boyfriends could love life and be fantastic neighbors, if not for the greedy malicious pigheaded uncles. Game cameras are an interesting idea; here and I was thinking about bear traps.

Thanks very much for reading these. I really appreciate knowing your reactions. Some came easily, others not so much. Number 16 owes its repetitive line to an old hymn, but the questions and responses are mine. -
I’m so relieved by this turn of events. I’m counting on a fuller explanation in a following chapter, but for the moment, our friends are reunited and readers can breathe in relief. What was this horrible operation all about? And who of the plotters is still at large?

You are a compelling storyteller. You make good choices as a writer, and that’s what makes the story. Not everything you have to tell will agree with everyone. Why should this be a revelation? Yet to some limited minds who can’t take in new thoughts, it’s apparently far too radical for you to write the unexpected. I applaud you, and pity them.

This chapter was wonderful. Caleb finally gives himself the chance to discover happiness with Wren. And Wren discovers a new world of unselfish love giving himself to Caleb.

Neither man can admit that “time to think” means exactly that. And thinking may help both men come to the place where they can admit the other into their lives. You are bringing the tension and love between Caleb and Wren out beautifully. Loved their morning wake up.

Soul Searching had me pondering ideas that sound perilously close to theological engineering. Minestrone has my mouth watering. I very much liked you limerick concerning bees, too. It made me smile. The Witch, and The Bug are both excellent; Witch drew me in, line by line. Bug packs a lot into its short span. Thanks for these terrific poems.

Thanks for lots of things in this chapter. For Michael and Blaine, of course; but more importantly for the steadfast and unflinching care CJ brings to Brad in Alex Minsky. I enjoyed the many other scenes, but these stand out to me.
