  1. We have plenty of those names too, Német is German, Orosz is Russian, Török is Turkish. I can't think of an equivalent of Austrian or Prussian, but we certainly have the Székely for Szekler and Horvát for Croatian.
  2. LOL, mészáros is slaughterman, means killer or a bad surgeon too, butcher is hentes, but it has a similar meaning.
  3. Hubby's family name is there, meaning left handed, but also clumsy. My maiden name means water in one of the gypsy dialects.
  4. I'm looking forward to it
  5. Both my sons had their little nails painted around that age, the older one is almost 6 now, he's built like a viking, all muscle, but he's very sweet and so much like me. He's a momma's boy, when you want. He likes to try on his sisters dresses and has a pink drinking bottle. It was mine, I think it's more important for him than the color. Little son is almost 2, he's a wild boy, just like Sasha's Goblin. The plays with the older boys in the daycare by choice, but had glittery nail polish, because he thinks it's pretty and he wants to be pretty. He has long wavy blond hair and is often mistaken for a little girl. I can only say what the others said already: your son is young, he'll figure it out in time. Don't let society pressure him in either way, y'all will be fine.
  6. In Transsylvania there are a lot of the Hungarian family names first names. And most Hungarian names are occupation names or are indicating where the family came from. (City or region, minority)
  7. I'm curious too
  8. Happy belated birthday!
  9. happy Valentine's day today you all!
  10. Hey Emi, long time no see. here's a little boost up for you
  11. I don't think that your characters sound all the same. I'm not a fiction writer of my own, but I have to write various things in different styles. Sometimes even in different languages. It helps, when I create different environment for the tasks too. And what Val said: It does not matter how you do the writing, as long as the outcome is right.
  12. I know, it must be upsetting to get a diagnosis like this. I'm on the other side, my hubby is extremely overweight with no real perspective of a healthier life. He's gonna die a lot earlier than I, it's difficult to cope with for both of us, for our kids and other relatives. I hope you and Michael find your own way though this.
  13. Happy Birthday!
  14. It would be so stylish of you to have the last name Wang or Wong, Mr. Wuff
  15. Magic Mike wifey I don't even like Channing Tatum that much, but I find this performance so good. Especially the airbrushed 6 packs :-D
  16. Happy belated Birthday!
  17. Happy Birthday!
  18. Only pitchforks from me because of the smog alert, torches are banned
  19. Breaking news from Budapest: Hungarians welcome the Garricks on their winter holiday with mild temperatures, barely a dozen Celsius below zero
  20. I can't even stand, when hubby is working on Saturdays or has the late night shift. Time drags on, suddenly the kids are all in bed and asleep and it's too quiet. There are some funny colleagues everywhere, hubby's coworker said him he should always phone home, before he actually arrives, so I have time to remove evidence It was so weird, I had to laugh him in the face
  21. Happy Birthday!
  22. Ice drift on the Danube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94MAbKgZ3x4 on the theme of frozen over (incompletely/completely): There is a mocking song in Hungarian about the river Maros flowing while in a standstill :-P
  23. Jamie Foxx is in Budapest, filming whatever he's filming. He has a good time for sure. http://24.hu/szorakozas/2017/01/14/jamie-foxx-furdonadragban-elvezte-a-budapesti-havazast/
