True, but too many of those exclamations get annoying and distract from the story. Plus in combination with the other grammar issues, the story becomes hard to read. It doesn't take a significant amount of time to either go over what has been written and look for issues or getting help from someone.

Any comment made on one of stories is replied to. I try to respond to them as quickly as possible; but there were a few that went a while before I responded. Every comment is greatly appreciated and I try to convey that in my responses.

When I made my initial post on this topic, I knew I would be contacted by a certain author. I absolutely did not have him in mind when I wrote that and had my response in mind waiting for him to ask me if I was referring to him. @Carlos Hazday remember what I told you and keep up the good work 😉😗

I'm kind of doing this right now by writing Scott's (a character in Chapter 1 of TJ) story. But I've added the story as a second book in a series.

I made it through two chapters of The Hobbit and got the Cliff's Notes and wrote a report using that gods that man could go on and on and on and on about absolutely nothing

For a new story, I'll read the description and then decide if I want to go from there. If a description catches my eye, I'll open the story. If the story is poorly edited and has grammatical errors, I'll read as much as I can stand. if I think the story has a good base, but would be improved if those mistakes were rectified, I'll normally send the author a message letting them know that their story is good but needs to polished. Over the last almost two years, my tolerance for the number of grammatical mistakes in a story has greatly declined. Once I'm in a story and enjoying it, my analretentive mind has to read every word. I've gotten better about this and now tend to skip parts that get preachy. If an author feels he or she has to use their characters to get the soapbox issues aired, I'll either skip to the next part or stop reading.

There needed to be a clear division in the group where Ryder is concerned I believe. Mike would obviously never accept Ryder as Teddy's boyfriend because of his jealousy. Given how Liz and Ryder had bonded at Teddy's earlier and the way she was constantly getting on Teddy's case where Ryder is concerned, she would choose Reddy *Ryder+Teddy*. Blake was the toss-up in this situation. I think the reason he chose the way he did was because of the alcohol and the fact that Teddy wouldn't party with him. He got butt-hurt and lashed out. I think once he sobers up and realizes what happened, he'll have a change of heart. The only one that won't come around is Mike. He'll stay butt-hurt and personally I think it's because Teddy isn't making his butt hurt.

Howdy y'all. It's been awhile since I've posted anything around here. I just wanted to let everyone know that I miss y'all so much. @Dodger- You know I'm really starting to like Alex. Like a lot. Grrrr I can't believe I just admitted that. I think I would almost prefer Robbie and Alex together (the Alex right now that was on the phone) rather than Robbie and Nathan.. Nathan's too much of a spotlight chaser for Robbie.. Alex is more real and tells Robbie exactly the way it is..

I'm confused.....Did Bauer have a heart attack, die of cancer, or commit suicide because all three are causes of death that I read in the story.

Why did you feel the need to use your characters to preach your beliefs? The characters, with the exception of Jeff, all held similar viewpoints on religion which then segued into a subtle social commentary of your viewpoints. You used four different characters to tell us that you're a Democrat. What exactly drove you to use your characters like this?

Scott's story isn't going to be near as long as TJ's, but he's got so valuable lessons he's learned that he's begging to share with y'all....Scott could subconsciously see the writing on the walls where his parents were concerned, I think, so he tried to drown those realizations before they could manifest into his active thinking. Scott is the villain in TJ Chapter 1 but here he is Ryan's Prince Charming...he proves my core belief that every man plays both roles as dastardly villain in someone's perception and knight on a white horse in someone else's perception. Every woman is the Evil Queen to someone but the Maiden in Distress to another.
