Yes, indeed. And I wish more people had hands-on access to them. I know my tiny. containerised garden (40 ish planters, crammed into a small space) has been my saving at various times. I'm sure Eric will appreciate being drawn back into that ever-changing world.

I can thoroughly recommend Weekend, a British film from 2011. As someone who usually watches TV while doing something else, this held my attention throughout. Quite an achievement.

Once again, a haibun seems to be the perfect form for your thoughts and feelings. I think the house will retain an echo of all your good times, its spirit welcoming the next family. It is sad to relinquish somewhere that was so much part of your life, but it will be part of your memories, and your family's.

Yes, I can see that. Kath became pregnant when he was still experimenting. Maybe Liam thought the gay feelings would go away? Particularly if he too comes from a Catholic family. They very obviously didn't though, which leads to everything else that happens. Yes, you would hope that people felt able to be who they'd want to be nowadays, but I fear that isn't the case.

I do think a title for a chapter is important. Not essential, but it is there to draw people in. Perhaps those who are not your usual readers? Of course, people like @Carlos Hazday could probably call their chapters anything they want, . Me, I've got to be more creative. Yes, it's usually a word or two that sums up the chapter, hopefully something slightly oblique, not in your face. -

I'm a sucker for short stories, and for stories that look at people and WW1 in different ways. Unusually for me, I went off and read both stories straightaway. They are well worth it - well-crafted vignettes that immediately transport you to that time and place, and tell a poignant, emotional tale. In fact, I may well go back and read them again ... -

I'm not sure Eric's quite ready for that. Having been effectively asexual for a long time, I think it will take a while longer before he starts seeing other men in that light.
