This could be another step in building a longer commitment between Alec and Finn. River won't take no for an answer. Good for River. The participants at the big dinner were attacked and all seem scared. What a mess! if the intention was to kill Garjah or Essell or Ases ,then that failed. Others may have been hurt. If the intention was to prove Garjah or his assistant could not protect others, then that issue is confused and worrisome. Luckily Ases mech destroyed the drones. I assume that the Kardoval are behind the attack and have aides who controlled the drones. They wanted to show that Garjah was incompetent and not reliable and ruin his credibility. The attack , however, showed that alien tach was better than theirs. The will benefit from alien help. Let's see who is hurt and what Garjah's investigation finds in the next chapter. I hope all the good guys are not injured.

Mark, if you are staying close to the historical timeline, the Prince of Wales does not become the Regent for several years. I suppose George III did go in and out of his instability and political/executive matters might stay in flux for an extended period until the Regency. You craft interesting developments in their lives and troubles/passions/personal insights and hopes. You help us with reactions and reasons like or dislike the people. As you can tell, George Granger as portrayed is very easy to like. I think the ambassador missed some powerful insights by focusing just on the Tsar and not visiting Granger's cabin. He would have had a superlative meal and seen the portrait of the Stroganov's. Granger was well liked by them. They could be trusted Tsar liked advisors for the ambassador. Granger could have written a note or just stated a verbal message so the ambassador could call upon them. Granger expected his troubles at home would be with an upset Lord St Vincent who would be reluctant to give him a ship. Now the health of the King and the rivalry with the Prince of Wales might negate their desire or interest to favor him and support his naval duties. I can see him joining his father and wife to form an active team to stop Freddie from doing damage to the family or even his career.

Glad to see Mrsgnomie you can multitask. Glad the legal issues are almost settled. You have written a warm, mostly happy chapter with a series of interesting episodes. Nothing was boring. The characters for the most part are kindhearted and agreeable. You want to like them all. Baby to older kid rivalry is normal. In the end you had Aidan liking newborn Carson and not hitting him. Most points have been covered by this time, so if I push my pessimistic side, I see two ripples. Lars is not at all into seeing Loe. Loe has to fly to him. So, I hope Loe does get his own closure by meeting Lars and old wounds are not opened up. Also, is Mexico going to be challenging? Matt and Seamus mysteriously text Loren and indicate they have some to discuss in Mexico. Is this a minor cliffie?

Lots of vignettes that advance the story line. I felt three were most powerful. Tasha as expected exploded learning about her father and does not trust him Can Caleb broker a short meeting? Heather told Tierney that her coven is acting more dangerously, Feral vampires could jump out. Tierny wants to insure the visiting inspectors know the full story. Dirk can't find his inner bear. But, Ingle thinks Dirk is his mate. What does this mean=? I am looking forward to finding out how Vincent handles his auditor training next week.

Granger is very pleased with his near-term situation. His is beginning to elevate the ship and crew to his expectations He gave wise cousel to the new ambassador to Russia " He found he was in such a good mood he was almost elated. He was back in his familiar venue, captain of a fine ship with what appeared to be a fine crew and officers whom he could meld into a good team. For the first time since leaving Russia, he wasn’t miserable." Two matters could cause him trouble. Fitzgerald has a crush on him that could lead to sex. He knew this yet he invited him to his cabin later. How will they both keep a relationship secret on a new ship? On a longer term basis to handle when he gets home , he was made aware that Freddie was jealous of him and Bertie and is seeking to make his mark. His first effort in Parliament was a failure. Freddie is lining up with the anti-Catholic Duke of Cumberland. Thank you, Mark. It is wonderful to read of how Granger is doing .He is in a great mood. Let's hope Daventry arrives back soon and the ship can get on its way to Visby.

Well--that was an unexpected intense marriage counseling session opening up the real issues between Brad and jake and showing how they are unable to focus on what matters. Will was the central therapist. They needed to come to realize they loved each other and they needed to fight to remain a couple no matter what environment they chose. All ended seemingly well. Brad wants to hang out with Will and surf. Jake and Brad went together to bed. They are very likely to be honest with each other now. Brad is going to give Jake space and not fear him serving on the Army, if he choses. I wonder what Will might learn when he goes to his two big parties in the LA area. They could or could not bring him partial closure in high school life as he moves on to Harvard. Will he meet other Harvard students or even Zach? So the worry in the last chapter about why Jake was offered such a deal or if any danger was ahead for the family with him in Mexico and unable to protect them was ignored as a subject. I guess the danger was a red herring or something to evolve in future chapters. BTW--Just saying I am in the midst of my 4th pass through the Bridgemont series and am starting the Odyssey installment. I really like George Granger.

I am thankful they met and went away for some alone time. Alec's trip to see his mother is not a subject they covered. They opened up. They wanted each other in their unique ways in high school and at the end they both knew that Alec could not stay in Iowa. Actually, both guys had to grow and follow their inner goals. Finn was devoted to his family. Alec needed to get away and see if he could succeed. Both are at good places where they live. But they both miss an inner connection and a soul mate. Finn told Alec he still loved him and he was upset he was going to leave. Alec seemed stronger and more balanced relative to Finn. Alec began touching him. Ok, this is a process. They need to get back together and talk and see if they can become physically demonstrative. I bet if they kiss and kissed and made love they could find reasons to become a pair. Alec could move back , His mother would be dead soon and would not be controlling him. This is an encouraging chapter. Both still have huge problems. Both need each other.

Very interesting. The scientists are concerned about a temporal paradox and have key filters to find some people as a test for a larger retrieval of people from the past. Will this work? Will the new to this time people be able to survive and be competent? I am looking forward to reading more.

What great fights, Caleb won and acted like a professional and talked honestly to his father-in-law. They seemed to come to an understanding and Lewis admitted his errors, They both watched Vincent fight and saw his amazing, stunning powers in force so that his opponent conceded. Lewis surprised Calab and his alphas by apologizing to them and gave his promise to be a better , non-bigoted person. Vincent wisely said he needed to see results in action. So they will meet next year to go over how Lewis has acted. Caleb will ask his mate to see her father as Lewis requested, It will be a challenge for her to agree. He is very touched to know he has a grandson. I hope they meet. Wagner's undercover work is making some progress. He has a hated supervisor , unpleasant duties and a wise shadow mage observer. He should now realize that by being watched in his apartment, as Teddy told him, he is not fully trusted. Cyrus is looking for some clear cut evidence to prove Harold is guilty of corruption. He may find it soon. Wagner has his eye on a human girl. I hope she is not a spy for Harold,

Talk about being embarrassed--I thought the title would be referring to a great private, sensuous Bj on an island vacation-not on a kitchen island with Jay's parents surprising the two With the shocking revelation about fun sex life, the chapter cleared the air in so many ways--Jay's home after retirement, the parent's unequal treatment of their kids, and Loe's feeling for his brother, Lars Loe realizes after all that drama, Jay and his brothers still love one another. Loe is willing to find his brother and learn about his views. He is willing to take a risk.

I believe the author is very wise and gave us great hints. Especially, since he agrees with some points I made earlier Carlos Hazday said "....The Chinese assume the CIA will figure out the new guy's a spy sooner than later and decide on a preemptive strike. In the process, the send the Americans a message, letting them know they're on to their newest boy toy, CJ. Problem is they got it wrong." Now, how could this misperception work to CJ's disadvantage?
