    Dead Ringer

    Super.
  2. I saw a lot of evil in my time as a police officer. I saw much less good. Things rarely move me, but this selfless offer done out of love, has.

    Both of You

Great poem. You know how I feel about these things. But as your Husband and partner, is there something I need to know, boy?

    Opinion

You shouldn't care, not really. You are online, so am I and others. Perhaps this article will help: Why We Care About What Other People Think of Us

    Many Hells

This is so true. In the business world 3 days is the allowed mourning time for a parent. If you have a compassionate manager that could stretch to a week. So inhumane. I remember a fellow officer once crying on my shoulder a month after losing her twin sister. She was still lost and couldn't understand why people couldn't understand her pain. I could only tell her we all deal with this in our own way and in our own time. Do not let them tell you it is too long or you should be dealing with it better. If you stop eating or dealing with personal hygiene or you are withdrawing, then you may need to speak with a counselor but otherwise you may just need to talk. That was what she needed for someone to listen to her stories of her sister, not to be told shhhh it's okay don't talk about it ... but just the opposite she needed to talk and to relate stories and to remember even if she cried. She simply needed someone to hear her. That is often all that is needed for many things. The person needs to talk, to relate, to speak things aloud and to have someone hear, to be interested. Not to be told to hold it in … we need to free our pain and our fears.

    Many Hells

When tim needs me, I am not important. There is time enough for me and I am lucky to be blessed with the family I have who offer and have offered huge amounts of support to us both. I know our friends online do the same. I am grateful for it.
  8. It was a fun drive … terrible fog along parts of the 401 Her plane was delayed again for 30 minutes not because of fog. She flew Air Transat and based on what she's said, that will be the last airline I choose. Constant delays, not due to weather.

    Personality

Wayne, our husband's seem to share tempting personalities. Lucky us. Your poem made me smile this morning.

    Many Hells

As a partner to someone who battles his hells daily, the last thing I can think of to say to him is 'you should be over it'. I watch him work to deal with flashbacks, depression and nightmares. It is better than it was and I am glad for him this is the case. he does not whine, blog or post about what he goes through. To him it is his hell for him to deal with on his own, it does not need broadcasting on a daily basis. Lately and I write this knowing things can change in a heartbeat, things have improved. Weekly visits to the psychiatrist continue, as do medications … but it is better. It is for his sake I hope this continues, not for my own. he deserves a quiet, happy life. I cannot fix 'it', but he knows I am here and always will be.
  11. Is it? It is much too early. I think another hour of sleep while tim writes is what I am going to try to do. Have a nice weekend, molly.
  12. You are welcome and you can speak freely here. You may find advice also, but you'd have to explain/ask further.
  13. Sounds like she could use a little discipline. ..to help her back to her calm place. Why would anyone want to deal with that unprofessional behavior? Perhaps she will have an epiphany overnight. Best of luck, Mac.
  14. Let us know if you need anything. Feel better. I have seasonal allergies also ... I like Costco's own allergy tabs best.

    I Love You

Sums it up nicely … boiling sleet, though? That said, sometimes it does mean forever, were that it were more often, than not. Very nice, Thorn.
  16. Bravely written piece which challenges the reader's thinking about God, Jesus and the Devil. I found it interesting and well done. Nothing to be afraid of here.

  17. Thought provoking. What I find interesting is the excellent treatment of this subject considering you are not a believer, how wonderfully open and brave as well. Bravo.
  18. I know that writing has been a bit of a struggle recently for you, but as AC says be gentle with yourself. While she's been no trouble, we do have a houseguest. We have been busy and on different schedules. Enjoy the time off from work … relax. Soon enough real life will intervene for us both.
  19. Very touching and frankly, beautiful. I find this to be such wonderful and generous advice he chose to share. Thanks for sharing.

    Don't Go There

As tim said, it's sad, but you made it very clear how you feel. Thanks, Kitt.
  22. Yeah I have to say that was a wonderful meal!
  23. Right, I am off out. Errands and physio today. See you later.
